Max
I watched Ivy’s face as she listened to whoever was on the other end of the call.
“You’re sure?” Her face was a mixture of confusion and what I hoped wasn’t fear, but I wasn’t confident that was the case. “Okay. Thanks,” she hung up and sank to the bed.
“Ivy?” I took a step toward her cautiously. She didn’t move, just stared at her feet. I crouched down in front of her and put a hand on each of her thighs. “Ivy. What is it?”
“I can’t believe it,” she breaths, still not looking at me.
“What?”
Her head whips up like she just realized I was there. Her eyes lock with mine. “The shooter…” I nod waiting for her to keep going. “He’s… He… A solider under Uncle Dom,” her eyebrows furrow like she just can’t believe it.
Truthfully, I can’t believe it either
Ivy“Ivy, will you tell me what the hell is going on?” Gia asks me as I look over the bar in the main room of the suite. A full bar is needed for the way the people coming like to party. I sigh and keep working, hoping she will drop it. “Ivy,” her voice is firm telling me that she isn’t going to drop it.“Fine,” I groan, “Carlos got an ID on the guy that tried to kill me.” I look down at the bar in front of me. I know for my plan to work I have to keep myself calm and I’m not sure that I can do that.“Who?” Gia sounds scared. I know this isn’t her thing, but I also know she will stand by me.“One of Uncle Dom’s men.” The gasp is loud causing me to cringe. “Everything will be fine. Max and Nico are going to talk to people and see what they can find out. I don’t just want the guy that did it, I want to know why.”“I
MaxI watched Ivy stock my direction and I was sure she was going to rip Sienna off me and claim me. I know that it would have blown the plan out of the water, but I would be lying if I wasn’t looking forward to it. Which meant I was disappointed when she walked right past us to and into the group of people that were drying humping to the music and calling it dancing. Her arms rose above her head, her hips swayed, eyes closed. I watch her until I hear Sienna’s annoying whiny voice say my name. “What?” I look at her.“Are you going to show me your room?” She bats her eyelashes at me, and I internally groan. Ivy’s idea better work.“Why would I do that?” I choose to act like I don’t even know what she is getting at. Looking past her, I see Nico sitting on the couch looking uncomfortable as Arianna rubs against him. I then look to see Gia seething before taking a shot and marching t
IvyThe sun shining through the window is what wakes me up the next morning. I roll over to cuddle deeper into Max, but he isn’t there. With furrowed eyebrows, I sit up and look around the room. The bathroom door is closed but I can see that the light is on. Holding my breath, I listen. The shower is going. With a smile on my face, I throw back the blankets. The cold air hits my still naked body as walk into the bathroom. The shower door is fogged up giving me only a slight view of Max’s silhouette. I don’t say a word as I walk toward the shower.Easing the glass door towards me I see Max standing there with his back to me. His naked ass looks amazing with water running down it. I bite my lip and can’t help that my eyes stayed glued to it. “You going to come in and stop letting all the cool air in?” Max’s deep voice breaks my concentration. My eyes snap up and connect with his. He is smirking at me over his shoulder causing me to roll my eyes. I turn around and shut the door. When I t
MaxWe went over the conversation that we had with Orlando Travisano at the party and to say Ballandini wasn’t happy would be an understatement. Not that I blame him. I know how pissed I felt about someone wanting Ivy dead. I can only imagine how her own father was feeling.“You ready for this?” Nico asks from beside me. I look at him and nod. Standing outside the location for the meeting meant that we had played everything right but there was still a lot to get through. They had to believe that we wanted Ivy dead too. Had to believe that I would gladly kill her. Their trust was the only way I was going to be able to find everyone that wasn’t loyal to Ivy. I wouldn’t fail her. It wasn’t an option.I point at the door, “Do the knock,” I tell Nico as I rub my temples. I can feel a headache coming on.Nico knocks in the coded way that we were instructed and then we wait. It takes five seconds for someone to open the door. The hulking man steps out and crosses his arms, glaring at us both
MaxA party. “Fuck,” I swear under my breath as I button my suit jacket up. I have to pretend to not be with Ivy, which is only one thing I’ll hate about tonight. I haven’t had her near me for a whole two hours and I’m not liking it. I want her in my sights at all time.“Her dad has people watching her,” Nico reminds me for probably the tenth time since I separated from Ivy.“Tellme you’re not worried about Gia,” I raise an eyebrow at her.“Touché.” I run a hand down my face and begin pacing. “Calm down though, you are making me nervous, and we all need to be on our game tonight. As you pointed out, I don’t want anything happening to Gia anymore than you want something happening to Ivy.”“You’re really falling for her, huh?”He nods, “Best arrangement ever.” I can tell he is trying to hold back a smile so I smile wide at him so he just gives in. In our word a lot of men don’t want to show they care or love their families. Sometimes it’s because they don’t want to look weak and other t
IvyI want to rip Sienna’s hands off my fucking man so bad. I swear that this better be the end of this situation because if he has to pretend to be into her one more time, I will kill her.“Oh look, the future Capo’s twin sister is here,” Max says in a snarky voice. I glare in his direction. I’m trying to catch the hoe’s hand on fire but to everyone else, it looks like I’m glaring at him.“Oh, look the worst sniper we have. Why are you still here?” I walk past his fake date toward the bar. I feel him pinch my ass a little as I pass him.My wonderful brother decides on that second to come into the room, Arianna on his arm. The girls rush to each other and start giggling together. Gia is already rolling her eyes when I look her way.“You two are lucky sons of bitches,” Orlando says to my brother and Max, throwing an arm over each of their shoulders. “Theres none hotter.” I gag, out loud, when he looks them up and down a couple of times. “Something to say, Baldracca?” My hands around hi
MaxI don’t even think to pause to knock on Ivy’s door, I just open it and barge right in. When the party guests started thinning and I saw her slip up the stairs, I downed the drink in my hand and followed. When the door opened, she was standing there, in just a dark purple lacy bra and panties set and the cute little heels I saw peeking out from under her dress whenever I looked long enough throughout the night.“You look like you were expecting someone,” I smirk at her.She shrugs, “Just some guy I might have fallen a little bit for,” she pinches her thumb and pointer finger together. I chuckle. “Shut the door. My parents might have their room on the other side of the house, but my sister's room is two doors down.”I slam the door, grateful that there are still guests here, so they haven’t shut the music off. I wouldn’t doubt that if Vincent heard the door slam, he would rush to his daughter’s rescue. Even though there is nothing and no one that will be able to save her from me.I
IvyWaking up to Max kissing me was heaven. He started at my shoulder and moved across my back. When he got to the middle of my neck, I shivered and gave away that I was awake.“Morning.” I could feel Max’s smile against my skin.Rolling over, I smiled wide at him. “Good morning. Sleep good?”He nodded. “Every night with you in my arms is better than good. It’s the best thing ever. I love you,” he leaned in and connected our mouths. I moaned and tried to push him onto his back so that I could straddle him. But he overpowered me, and I ended up on my back, our lips never leaving each other. He moved across my face to my neck and down it. I moved it to the side so that he had better access.“Max, we have to be quick. I have a lesson with my dad in an hour and I can’t smell like you and sex,” I laughed. It had been two weeks since my dad had let Max start staying here and I was enjoying it. Every morning we rolled around in bed and then whenever we could throughout the day. I feel asleep
