Adrian’s POV

"Alpha, an urgent letter came in the mail earlier."

I looked up at my secretary as she handed me the white envelope containing the letter she was talking about. After carefully scanning the outer part of the letter out of curiosity, I immediately grabbed the letter opener sitting at the top of my desk. When I completely tore the paper enclosing the communication, an unfamiliar logo appeared.

I read through the context of the correspondence to figure out what it was about. I trusted my secretary in gatekeeping these types of letters. She needed little to no supervision in doing her job. Most of the time, she was able to filter all of my work down to the level that only needed my intervention. That's why if she felt like the matter was out of her hands, that's the only time she would call my attention, similar to what was unfolding at this moment.

"Will you look at that," I told my secretary, "Another invitation for a pack alliance?”

“From whom?” my secretary asked. I di

Lia's POVLike I always do, I am now spending my fourth Sunday of the month at home. This was considered my only time off as I often had no engagements or business-related functions at this time. Being the head of the Scarlet Order for a while now, I got a hang of my schedule and remembered every important event by heart. Contrary to how the usual setup was, I didn't rely on my secretary to fix my timetable. I value time more than anything so I make it a point to always be in the know about how my day would be.Just this morning, I received a response from Moon Valley Pack. My lips stretched into a smile without showing any teeth. I still couldn’t believe that they accepted our invitation. Moreso, the letter suggested that they were interested to discuss the alliance between the two packs. Damn! I still couldn't believe that everything was going according to plan. And with this recent development, I wouldn’t let this night pass without doing a celebration. This was huge for Autumn B

Lia's POVFinally, the day I had waited for had arrived.I couldn't help but look at myself in the mirror a thousand times. On my bed lay a couple of my wardrobes and some accessories. These are the ones I had tried earlier until I came up with what I am wearing now. The last time I had been this pressured about selecting what to wear was during my inauguration as the female alpha of Autumn Breeze. I had to commission a stylist just to look presentable that night but it was all worth it.Eager to make a statement, I decided to go with a smart yet elegant get-up. Selecting a pink boat-neck sheath dress paired with a black stiletto gave me the confidence I need to face probably the most popular alpha on the continent. I couldn’t let him intimidate me. While his profile was suggesting he was far from his father’s attitude, I couldn’t know for sure. This meeting needed to be smooth. The future of Autumn Breeze lies in this very important meeting. After ensuring that I am looking my very

Oscar’s POVA mild tap on the shoulder awakened my senses. I didn’t realize that I was spacing out while sitting at the chair waiting for Lane to call my name. When I looked up, the kind secretary was grinning from ear to ear. “Beta Oscar, the alpha is ready to see you.”I nodded in agreement before whispering a short thank you to her. I stood up from the chair and went toward his office. My steps were slow and heavy. My face was a picture of shame. I am a failure! I let down not only our alpha but the whole Moon Valley pack. I couldn’t help but think that I was better off working in the background than stepping up to a role. I was good at doing small things but not with tasks with utmost importance. This was the second time that I let down alpha Adrian, the first time being when I failed to take Luna Aria back to this pack. And now, I failed to seal the deal with the Autumn Breeze pack. Do I deserve to be this pack’s Beta? I don’t think so.I know what I need to do. I will step d

Adrian's POV.Everyone had their own things to do and I could see how alive the pack house had become. Some who saw me greeted me for a while but instantly went back to their work. Well, this was indeed a busy day for Moon Valley. Since the day I emerged as the alpha, I never had an opportunity to receive another delegation from another werewolf pack. Of course, Darkwood Pack was an exception considering that they were family more than just a regular ally. The day of my wedding to Aria was the day that we pledged allegiance to each other. After that, all of the convergence Moon Valley participated in was done outside our pack. But with the current situation with Autumn Breeze, I was forced to make another exception. Everyone was enthusiastic about the visit and willing to take their part. But there were others that did not know how to feel about it given that this wasn’t the norm that my father used to do during his time. He hated opening the pack borders with outsiders and would ra

Loki’s POV While staring at the lady glaring at me, I could not help but feel sorry for her. She didn’t smell that bad, honestly, but anyone who hadn’t had a bath for days would definitely feel uncomfortable and distressed. Probably, sweat and dirt mixed up which also made her feel so sticky. I also saw her scratch her hands, arms, and legs a while ago. Her beautiful face was in so much distress because of this journey. And I could not help but feel guilty about it. So I had decided to stop by a river stream before we continued going to Crescentsnow for her to wash herself up and for me to clean the carriage. At first, the lady boastfully and hatefully declined my offer and told me that she did not need any favors from me. And instead of getting offended, I kind of understood where her hate was coming from. So I just let her be and was about to change my mind about it. But I was surprised when she suddenly changed her mind and even apologized to him. And I did not know why

Aria’s POV"Take off your clothes now."My eyes automatically widened in shock after I heard those words from him. My mind buffered for a minute which made me freeze in my place. And when I finally processed what he meant, I felt like my soul had left my body for a moment. I looked at him and I narrowed my eyes. "W-What did you just say?" I stuttered as I asked. He raised an eyebrow at me like he was implying that I was so dumb for asking such an obvious question. But I stood my ground as I narrowed my eyes more. "Can you repeat what you said?" I asked him once more. His lips formed a lopsided smile before he answered. "I said, take off your shirt."I was expecting that he would repeat it. But I still gasped in surprise after I heard it. I stared at the man standing right in front of me. He was slightly taller than the average, with dark brown hair and grey eyes. His hair was messy but in a good way. Physically, he looked about 35 - 40 years old and definitely much older than Adr

Loki’s POVMy brain is still wide awake, and my eyes are gauging out of insomnia and lack of sleep for the past few days.Hell, fuck! I could barely—no, I could not sleep, knowing the woman was just a fly sheet away behind me.The chains on my hands were incessantly moving, which showed that she was still probably outside of the tent, still awake like me. Besides, she wouldn’t do anything stupid knowing about the detrimental effects of silverbane shackles on her foot. I then tried to shut my eyes to sleep, but gradually resigned to that thought when I couldn’t stop thinking about the fucking woman behind my back. The woman was gutsy, and I knew she could outsmart me if I wasn’t thorough enough to be vigilant. She was also fast and strong-willed enough to fight me if she had to. But then again, it restricted her from the spell and threat of silverbane that were activated to weaken her powers. Hell, she was so obstinate about being in her wet clothes despite the repercussions of catchin

  • Take Me Back: The Alpha's Regret   Chapter 93

Lia's POVThe way from Autumn Breeze to Moon Valley was quite long. As I looked outside the window of the car, my eyes were focused on the magnificent view of the forest. Compared to Autumn Breeze, the vegetation and trees here were denser. The magnificent view was very pleasing to my inner wolf. It must have been magical to explore this on foot. I feel jealous of the members of this pack! My eyes went to Thea, my Beta when she groaned. When I looked at her, her eyes were closed and it was as if she was uncomfortable with the long ride. I smiled. Thea was really not in the mood."Damn it, I'm tired of sitting for hours," she muttered under her breath. There was an obvious irritation plastered on her face. I had always seen her beautiful features but until now I was still amazed by how gorgeous she looked. Not because she was my best friend and constant companion, but as a woman who I appreciate. Despite that, there was an undeniable fact that she was someone that could not just be

Aria’s POV Three years later… “Blow the candles, mommy!” I smiled at my seven-year-old seeing her grin from ear to ear while holding my birthday cake. I pinched her rosy cheeks before taking a deep breath and puffing the candles. Cheers from the background roared. We were inside Alpha Axel and Luna Sheila’s house where I decided to celebrate my 23rd birthday. Aside from them and their equally cute daughter Krissy who was now playing with my daughter, I invited my close friends and family from Moon Valley to celebrate with us. There’s my mom who was busy handing the food to everyone. Meanwhile, Ash and his wife were having their sweet moments on the couch. He touched Thea’s growing bump. Like him, we couldn't wait to see the new addition to our family. Beside them was Beta Nick, who just found her mate, Klea, recently. Ahh…This is life. And yet, something still feels missing. “Have you heard from him?” It was the voice of Luna Sheila that brought me back from spacing out. “N

Aria's POVAs the light drains away, I found myself in the same spot over and over. The sky was like a canvas bearing a mixture of orange, red, and pink on its surface. I held to the bouquet of some white roses tighter. I couldn’t wait to give this to him. Finally, I reached the place. Slowly, I put down a bouquet of flowers on top of the elevated land. A cross was sitting on top of it. I remembered the words of Luna Sheila during the time I was still grieving his death. She said, “The pain of losing someone doesn’t go away. It would give you the same intensity regardless of the years that passed. You will just learn to cope with it.”Yes, I was coping. Under this grave was the memory of the person I lost in a blink of an eye. Tears started streaming down my face as I remembered him. I have always remembered him. Always and forever. A lone tear escaped my eyes. It’s been a year since I lost him. But until now, the pain was still in my heart. My face plastered a bitter smile. “Don’t

Nixon’s POV“Nixon…Nixon…Wake up…”The beautiful voice woke me up. When I opened my eyes, I was welcomed by a lush green valley. The scent of the fresh dew brought by the spring season was mixed with the cold, comforting breeze. I slowly lifted my eyelids and was welcomed by the blue sky doming above me. The sun was nowhere to be found but the whole place was bright and sunny. I got up slowly and scanned the place with my still narrowed eyes. Before I could ask myself where I was, the lovely voice that woke me up from slumber rang in my ears once again.“You are awake, my love. Welcome Elysian Fields,” she stated while plastering the most radiant smile I had seen in my life. The woman had wavy blonde hair and eyes as silvery yellow as the moon. Moreso, she was incredibly beautiful. The maiden was wearing a white knee-length tunic. Her shoulder was armed with a golden bow and arrow. And although her face can surely bewitch every male creature in the land, surprisingly, you will neve

  • Take Me Back: The Alpha's Regret   Chapter 135

Aria's POVAlpha Axel, and I along with Darkwood warriors, came on time to the Stone Valley where Stonewood Pack was situated. We came here with nothing but courage and faith. For some, this mission was a suicide. To come here with a small army was no match to the force Blade showed us the other night. We would not sugarcoat this reality. We would not be comforted by a lie that we would be able to win this battle by ourselves. We won’t but we would be sure to give them a hell of a fight. For Nixon’s sake. I came here to show Blade my true colors. He will now see that he shouldn't be underestimating someone like me, especially when I am a rare diamond in the rough. I am the only shifter of this land. I was far from the weak shifter he met and almost killed the first time. My life experience taught me greater things about my strength and capabilities. No one came aside from us and that gave me a bitter taste in my mouth. I still couldn’t believe that the people of Moon Valley, whom

Aria’s POV I was panting. I heard myself begging, pleading. But I couldn't get a hold of my words. They were drowning in the abyss of darkness. Hollowed and dreadful. I knew it was my voice. I sense the familiarity within its timbre and vibration.Inaudible it may seem, but slowly, it could be heard as I guessed about the words. Then, the things around me became clear. I could hear the rustling of the wind brushing against the leaves. The vast unfamiliar road was the first thing I saw. My dress glided with the wind. My hair followed suit. With this endless void, I saw his figure. The familiar figure which I yearned for so much.Nixon.Tears began to flow from my eyes. His back faced me. He was running. Running away from me.Why? Why would he run away from me?Didn't he suffer enough to be away from me? Didn't he wait for this day to come, to finally be with me?Then, why? Why is he running away from me?Frustratingly, I followed him. I ran and ran towards him."No. No, Nixon!" I shou

  • Take Me Back: The Alpha's Regret   Chapter 132

Aria’s POV It was hard to believe what just happened. In a blink of an eye, the alpha, who was revered for defeating the infamous Death Eater, was now lying on the grounding and feasting in his humiliating defeat. In this continent, everyone knew who Adrian Patterson was. Everyone knew the story of how he triumphed over his tyrannical father. It would forever be engraved in our history. And yet, it was hard to imagine that the same, glorious man who became well-known throughout the continent was defeated just like that. What could possibly go wrong for him to lose in such an important battle like this? “Because he lost you, Aria. You broke our bond with him for the second time. His wolf weakened when you rejected him last night,” Cleo stated inside my head. I bit my lower lip upon hearing that. It made me remember the time when my mother went to the Royal Cave Bar and implored me to go back to Moon Valley to strengthen Adrian’s wolf before his battle with the Death Eater. At t

Adrian’s POV"Do you like my grand entrance?" The man said that it made me almost lose my cool.Simon Walker... How dare he betray me and show himself here? How dare he show his face to the pack he chose to fucking betray?I groaned in so much anger as I looked at him with eyes that were ready to kill. Among the council, he was one of those I trusted! But look at this mutt gathering his weaklings of companions, trying to instigate war!The veins on my neck and my temple were already bulging, and I could feel how my resentment slowly enveloped my heart. Just the sight of this traitor made me livid.“What the hell do you want?” I questioned him, furious.Simon scoffed and smirked before he spoke, “You, Alpha Adrian. I want nothing but to beat your ass and witness how you will lose everything.”My ears twitched the moment I heard that. There was also gasping that was heard around right after. It was an obvious challenge to my throne. Seeing his irking smirk, I knew he wanted to fight an

Adrian's POVThere was an obvious fiasco in the meeting hall where we were gathered at that moment. Together with the councils, Aria was also present. We were currently discussing the aftermaths of Cassie’s schemes to Moon Valley. I could not deny that I was still very uncomfortable with her presence after what happened last night. I wanted to exclude myself from seeing her but this meeting only made me do what I didn’t want. How cruel fate was on me! I was bothered that she sat here with the council as if nothing pivotal happened a few hours ago. I mean, how could she act so naturally in front of everyone when she rejected me, her mate, coldheartedly last night? Groaning silently in my seat, I frowned. However, the more I saw how she was leading and speaking her ideas, the more I realized how deserving she was for the seat of Luna. Our council was right in choosing to believe in her. I could not deny that she was doing a great job. It was as if she was born to lead, a trait that c
