Adrian’s POV

This week had been a volley of curveballs. A few days ago, Aria had an accident that made her forget everything except for me. While still recovering from it, here I was waiting for the rest of the council to finally address all their questions about Luna’s situation.

"Sir, here's the other mug you asked for."

My thoughts were interrupted by an omega holding a cup of black, an aromatic drink I was very eager to sip. This had been my third cup since I arrived an hour ago yet I feel like I could have more. I could see the concern in Lori's eyes as she handed me the addicting concoction yet she didn't dare to stop me from taking it again. She was my secretary.

"The last time you asked me to make more than one cup of coffee is the day you were chosen as your father’s heir. I could definitely tell you when you are stressed," Lori concluded.

"You have no idea," I admitted while taking another sip of the dark liquid. Lori was like an older sister to me. I didn’t mind her

Dear readers, I am over the moon seeing the amount of support you are giving this book. For that, you had my utmost gratitude! In the next chapter, a new character would be introduced. Please don't be confused. Her role is pivotal to the rest of the story. She would be an important 'key' in unlocking the unresolved conflicts in the following chapters. Again, thank you for your love and support. You are the reason why all my tears and sweat writing this story are all worth it. Xoxo, Midnight Nightingale ♥♥

(NEW CHARACTER POINT OF VIEW)Lia Cruise"Are you sure you want this event open to the public, Lia?"An immense level of concern could be heard in Uncle Ralph's voice. More lines could be seen on his already wrinkled forehead. As my mother's right-hand man and brother, he had all the right to worry. Announcing a female alpha to the world would defy all norms. Worst, it is a taboo topic that most of the werewolf is frowning upon."Let them be, Uncle Ralph. I want them to know who we really are as a group and what we can do. It is about time that they know who we really are" I said confidently, as I put down the pile of folders I was busy with. I posed a confident grin trying to reassure my mother's younger brother that I am still one step ahead of everyone. I wouldn’t go this route if I feel that the pack wasn’t ready to come out from the shadows. My middle-aged uncle held a deep sigh. In the end, he surrendered. He knew very well that once I had made my decision, no one could talk me

Lia’s POVTonight was the moment of truth. Some said a female werewolf can only achieve great things through her man. I was born into a society where a woman was only expected to be a wife and a mother. That they were nothing but a homemaker, a supporter, and unrecognized shadows behind every wolf. This evening, I would prove them wrong. I looked at myself in the mirror. For the succession ceremony, I chose to wear something bold. Something that would echo strength and independence. A color that would shout prominence and wit. In the sea of black and white, I chose to wear red. Red as the dawn, my floor-length gown had an asymmetric neckline. The high-slit design revealed the nakedness of my right leg yet the flowy, silken garment put an elegant contrast to it. I finished my look with a pair of black, platform shoes and a pair of golden threader earrings. As for my crowning glory, I decided to curl it a little for some accent while letting it flow through the air as I walked. "Yo

Cassie's POV"Good morning, my love?" A familiar baritone voice filled my ears after I woke up from a deep slumber. Soon after that, I felt a peck on my lips. I smiled without opening my eyes as soon as my lips met Adrian's. And before he could pull away from it, I immediately wrapped my hands around his neck and pulled him closer to deepen the kiss, which he willingly did. We savored each other's mouths until we almost lost our breath. A soft chuckle escaped from my mouth when I heard him panting from the kiss. I opened my eyes and felt my heart beat rapidly the moment that our orbs met. "What a hot way of greeting me good morning, Adrian?" I blurted out with a naughty curve on my lips. Adrian smirked soundly then licked his lips. "Didn't you like it?"I rolled my eyes at him. "Of course, I did."And in a swift move, I managed to switch our positions. Now, I was already on top of him, grinding. "Ahh…" Moans came out of his mouth when I started to rub myself with his bulge. I be

Lia's POV Just a regular day in the office it seemed until I heard a knock on my door. I furrowed my eyebrows, trying to think of anyone who could possibly be my visitor during this very hour. It was only a quarter past 8 in the morning, and I was barely seated in my chair for an hour. My thoughts were interrupted when I heard Uncle Ralph’s voice asking permission to come in. I wondered intently what was it about that he could not discuss at home. It was very unlikely for him to come to my office to "talk". He didn't like going here unless for something really urgent. Like a curious cat, I asked him to come in. “Uncle Ralph,” I greeted, with obvious worry displayed on my face. “What brings you here?” He leaned over to give me a kiss on my cheek before sitting on the chair I pointed to him. “Your mother wanted me to deliver these documents personally,” he said. “She wanted to ensure that no one would read those except for you two.” My eyebrows furrowed hearing his reasons. He ha

Adrian's POV The meeting with the council went well. It was just that I had noticed Simon often stared at my Aria throughout the time. But maybe I was just thinking too much. It was just really easy to get jealous when you and your mate already got bonded. Some of the council tried to talk with us about the pack, but I suggested they postpone it for a while since Aria just got out of the hospital. And it would be better if the atmosphere was just light. Right after the meeting, I advised Aria to return to our room and have a rest while waiting for my talk to Simon and my Beta about the current issues and needs of the pack, to which she totally agreed. "Meeting adjourned," I announced and went out of the room. When I reached our bedroom, Aria's serene and gorgeous face was the first one that my eyes saw. She was sleeping soundly and it made me admire her more. She was just perfect. And I was very thankful that the Moon Goddess gave me a second chance to make up everything w

Aria’s POVA loud thud made my body bounce which awakened me from my sleep. The familiar stinking smell of the carriage filled my nose. Damn!I was still here? Really?I roamed my eyes around and confirmed that I was right. I hissed in annoyance. "Welcome to my life!" I whispered. I just got abandoned from my mate's pack because of my wicked sister, and here I was now, caught inside a carriage going to a place that I did not know. I tried to move my hands to tuck my loose hair strands behind my ears, but it was so hard for me to do it because of the handcuffs that were wrapped around my wrist. It was not just ordinary handcuffs because that horrible man just put something in it. Not just any ordinary thing, a silverbane, which is highly toxic for us werewolves. A drop of this vile liquid and I would be going straight to the afterlife, no questions asked. He could also be bluffing but I could not risk it. I can’t just die here. Not yet until I took back what was taken from me. I

Adrian’s POVI found myself sitting beside our bed, watching my wife in her moment of tranquility. I raised my hand and began stroking her hair. It made me remember the time when I saw her sleeping on their house’ sofa a few years back. That same picture of peace she had in her face before everything had started to mess up. It was the first time my heart leaped from my chest looking at her face. We were both in our teens at that time. But right then and there, I knew that she and I would bear a connection that we would both have until the end of our days. And I was right. Because when she turned to age, we both confirmed that she was the mate that the moon goddess had given me. A tear escaped from my eyes as I held her hand. I couldn't help but feel sorry for her. I felt helpless. It had been days since that horrible accident happened. And while her physical wounds had healed, her memories of the past were still out of reach. Yes, there might be a possibility that she would never

Adrian’s POV"Alpha, an urgent letter came in the mail earlier."I looked up at my secretary as she handed me the white envelope containing the letter she was talking about. After carefully scanning the outer part of the letter out of curiosity, I immediately grabbed the letter opener sitting at the top of my desk. When I completely tore the paper enclosing the communication, an unfamiliar logo appeared. I read through the context of the correspondence to figure out what it was about. I trusted my secretary in gatekeeping these types of letters. She needed little to no supervision in doing her job. Most of the time, she was able to filter all of my work down to the level that only needed my intervention. That's why if she felt like the matter was out of her hands, that's the only time she would call my attention, similar to what was unfolding at this moment. "Will you look at that," I told my secretary, "Another invitation for a pack alliance?”“From whom?” my secretary asked. I di

Aria’s POV Three years later… “Blow the candles, mommy!” I smiled at my seven-year-old seeing her grin from ear to ear while holding my birthday cake. I pinched her rosy cheeks before taking a deep breath and puffing the candles. Cheers from the background roared. We were inside Alpha Axel and Luna Sheila’s house where I decided to celebrate my 23rd birthday. Aside from them and their equally cute daughter Krissy who was now playing with my daughter, I invited my close friends and family from Moon Valley to celebrate with us. There’s my mom who was busy handing the food to everyone. Meanwhile, Ash and his wife were having their sweet moments on the couch. He touched Thea’s growing bump. Like him, we couldn't wait to see the new addition to our family. Beside them was Beta Nick, who just found her mate, Klea, recently. Ahh…This is life. And yet, something still feels missing. “Have you heard from him?” It was the voice of Luna Sheila that brought me back from spacing out. “N

Aria's POVAs the light drains away, I found myself in the same spot over and over. The sky was like a canvas bearing a mixture of orange, red, and pink on its surface. I held to the bouquet of some white roses tighter. I couldn’t wait to give this to him. Finally, I reached the place. Slowly, I put down a bouquet of flowers on top of the elevated land. A cross was sitting on top of it. I remembered the words of Luna Sheila during the time I was still grieving his death. She said, “The pain of losing someone doesn’t go away. It would give you the same intensity regardless of the years that passed. You will just learn to cope with it.”Yes, I was coping. Under this grave was the memory of the person I lost in a blink of an eye. Tears started streaming down my face as I remembered him. I have always remembered him. Always and forever. A lone tear escaped my eyes. It’s been a year since I lost him. But until now, the pain was still in my heart. My face plastered a bitter smile. “Don’t

Nixon’s POV“Nixon…Nixon…Wake up…”The beautiful voice woke me up. When I opened my eyes, I was welcomed by a lush green valley. The scent of the fresh dew brought by the spring season was mixed with the cold, comforting breeze. I slowly lifted my eyelids and was welcomed by the blue sky doming above me. The sun was nowhere to be found but the whole place was bright and sunny. I got up slowly and scanned the place with my still narrowed eyes. Before I could ask myself where I was, the lovely voice that woke me up from slumber rang in my ears once again.“You are awake, my love. Welcome Elysian Fields,” she stated while plastering the most radiant smile I had seen in my life. The woman had wavy blonde hair and eyes as silvery yellow as the moon. Moreso, she was incredibly beautiful. The maiden was wearing a white knee-length tunic. Her shoulder was armed with a golden bow and arrow. And although her face can surely bewitch every male creature in the land, surprisingly, you will neve

  • Take Me Back: The Alpha's Regret   Chapter 135

Aria's POVAlpha Axel, and I along with Darkwood warriors, came on time to the Stone Valley where Stonewood Pack was situated. We came here with nothing but courage and faith. For some, this mission was a suicide. To come here with a small army was no match to the force Blade showed us the other night. We would not sugarcoat this reality. We would not be comforted by a lie that we would be able to win this battle by ourselves. We won’t but we would be sure to give them a hell of a fight. For Nixon’s sake. I came here to show Blade my true colors. He will now see that he shouldn't be underestimating someone like me, especially when I am a rare diamond in the rough. I am the only shifter of this land. I was far from the weak shifter he met and almost killed the first time. My life experience taught me greater things about my strength and capabilities. No one came aside from us and that gave me a bitter taste in my mouth. I still couldn’t believe that the people of Moon Valley, whom

Aria’s POV I was panting. I heard myself begging, pleading. But I couldn't get a hold of my words. They were drowning in the abyss of darkness. Hollowed and dreadful. I knew it was my voice. I sense the familiarity within its timbre and vibration.Inaudible it may seem, but slowly, it could be heard as I guessed about the words. Then, the things around me became clear. I could hear the rustling of the wind brushing against the leaves. The vast unfamiliar road was the first thing I saw. My dress glided with the wind. My hair followed suit. With this endless void, I saw his figure. The familiar figure which I yearned for so much.Nixon.Tears began to flow from my eyes. His back faced me. He was running. Running away from me.Why? Why would he run away from me?Didn't he suffer enough to be away from me? Didn't he wait for this day to come, to finally be with me?Then, why? Why is he running away from me?Frustratingly, I followed him. I ran and ran towards him."No. No, Nixon!" I shou

  • Take Me Back: The Alpha's Regret   Chapter 132

Aria’s POV It was hard to believe what just happened. In a blink of an eye, the alpha, who was revered for defeating the infamous Death Eater, was now lying on the grounding and feasting in his humiliating defeat. In this continent, everyone knew who Adrian Patterson was. Everyone knew the story of how he triumphed over his tyrannical father. It would forever be engraved in our history. And yet, it was hard to imagine that the same, glorious man who became well-known throughout the continent was defeated just like that. What could possibly go wrong for him to lose in such an important battle like this? “Because he lost you, Aria. You broke our bond with him for the second time. His wolf weakened when you rejected him last night,” Cleo stated inside my head. I bit my lower lip upon hearing that. It made me remember the time when my mother went to the Royal Cave Bar and implored me to go back to Moon Valley to strengthen Adrian’s wolf before his battle with the Death Eater. At t

Adrian’s POV"Do you like my grand entrance?" The man said that it made me almost lose my cool.Simon Walker... How dare he betray me and show himself here? How dare he show his face to the pack he chose to fucking betray?I groaned in so much anger as I looked at him with eyes that were ready to kill. Among the council, he was one of those I trusted! But look at this mutt gathering his weaklings of companions, trying to instigate war!The veins on my neck and my temple were already bulging, and I could feel how my resentment slowly enveloped my heart. Just the sight of this traitor made me livid.“What the hell do you want?” I questioned him, furious.Simon scoffed and smirked before he spoke, “You, Alpha Adrian. It was an obvious challenge to my throne. Seeing his irking smirk, I knew he wanted to fight an

Adrian's POVThere was an obvious fiasco in the meeting hall where we were gathered at that moment. Together with the councils, Aria was also present. We were currently discussing the aftermaths of Cassie’s schemes to Moon Valley. I could not deny that I was still very uncomfortable with her presence after what happened last night. I wanted to exclude myself from seeing her but this meeting only made me do what I didn’t want. How cruel fate was on me! I was bothered that she sat here with the council as if nothing pivotal happened a few hours ago. I mean, how could she act so naturally in front of everyone when she rejected me, her mate, coldheartedly last night? Groaning silently in my seat, I frowned. However, the more I saw how she was leading and speaking her ideas, the more I realized how deserving she was for the seat of Luna. Our council was right in choosing to believe in her. I could not deny that she was doing a great job. It was as if she was born to lead, a trait that c
