CHAPTER 1

ANASTASIA

"My Precious Gem. Come to me, my angel." His arms came spreading wide, waiting for my embrace.

With the happiness within, I rushed into his arms and hugged him tightly. I felt so much better with him.

"Don't be scared, my love. I'm still here."

"But not forever," I said, feeling emotional. "Tonight I'll be mated to Alpha Damian. I'll be his Luna and move out of my home. That means I won't get to see you all the time. I... I don't like it."

"Don't be silly," Father laughed, patting me on the back. "Marriage isn't like that, Anna. It won't take you away from me," He promised.

I hummed, still feeling sad.

At the corner of my eyes I spotted my step sister, Cassandra, and Step mom, Linda, coming down the stairs, smiling at us.

Ever since my mother died, Linda has been a great support and wonderful mate to my father. She never made him feel lonely, nor treated me badly in anyway.

I felt my mother's love through her and a sisterly bond with Cassandra. They made this family complete.

"What's wrong, Sweetheart?" My Step mom asked, placing her hand on me.

Father told her about my worries, making a joke of it. "She's scared of life after marriage," He laughed, slowly releasing me from his grip.

"Scared? You're funny, sis," Cassandra teased, poking me on the back. I frowned at her and she drifted away, still cackling.

My Step Mom joined in the laughter and gently caressed my face, saying, " It's nothing to be afraid of, Anna. I was in your shoes when it was my time. But now..." Her eyes fell on my father with a beautiful smile on her face. "I feel so great."

The look she shared with my father, made my heart glow. Is that how Damian and I will stare into one another's eyes with so much love?

Now, I can't wait to get married to him. After all, we already love each other so much.

The day Damian and I found out we're going to be mates, we were stunned, yet pleased to know we'll be spending our lives as a couple soon. He's the Alpha of our pack, and this was a thing of joy for my dear father.

My father is just a well respected business man with lots of money and companies in Wolf Blood pack and other areas outside our land. He's also a man of principles and values, and wouldn't tolerate anything bad in his name.

My father has made it clear that he rather works with a man from a Royal Family filled with good morals, than a man of Royalty, engulfed with evil.

This saying of his was about a man he usually spoke to me about, and made example of whenever he wants to teach Cassandra and I about life and maintaining a good reputation.

He has a list of all these rules which we have followed for long. And being the first child of Raymond De Great, it's a must I follow all these rules, which I've been doing for years.

"I can't wait to hand you over to my son-in-law, my precious gem," Father said, pecking me on the forehead.

It made me happy, because after tonight, I'm going to be a Luna to Alpha Damian, my true love.

Just then... "Lady Anastasia?" A maid called from behind, gaining our attention.

"Yes? " I responded, pulling myself out of my father's hold, walking up to her. "What is it?" I asked in my sweet voice, smiling at her.

But what I saw stunned me next. In her hand held a cloth, wrapping something within. As she opened an end saying, "I found this among your clothes." I spotted a forbidden object my father must never see!

Only Cassandra looked at my direction and signaled with her eyes, asking if I was okay. All I did was smile as an assurance to show I was fine.

That was a relief for me.

Quickly, I went up the stairs and straight into my bedroom, shutting the door from behind with my back pressing against the door. My heart was racing while pulling the dildo out from the cloth. It's a long life-like vibrator.

"Yeah, we still can," Casey sniffed.

"Always remember your family, Anna," My step mom said, taking hold of my hands. "If you need our support, remember to call, okay?"

"Okay," I nodded, hugging her tightly.

They are the best family a girl could wish ask for. The Goddess really showed me mercy and brought them my way.

While we were getting emotional, a knock came on the door, calling us out for the wedding.

It's time and I feel so scared.

Stepping out, I was taken by my father, who proudly walked me down to the altar arranged in the Hall room.

Right there stood my Damian in his black suit, designed with golden lines and a matching cufflinks on his sleeves. His face filled with smiles as I stood before him, feeling my whole face burning out of shyness.

"Are you ready?" He whispered sweetly, blooming my heart.

"Yeah," I nodded with a grin.

As the ceremony began, Damian was asked, " Alpha Damian of Wolf Blood Pack, do you take Anastasia De Great to be your lawfully wedded wife, your mate and Luna, as the mother of your children, in sickness and in health, until death do you path?"

My face flushed at the elder's words, making it hard for me to look into my mate's eyes.

But when Damian responded, "I... Don't, " My heart crumbled in an instant, shocking me to the core.

I lifted my gaze and met two raging eyes on me! Damian was looking into my eyes with so much anger!

"I, Alpha Damian of Wolf Blood pack, will not accept you, Anastasia De Great, as my mate! I reject you!"

As soon as he said that, I felt a sting in my heart, forcing me on my knees. My whole body shivered in pain, forcing me to lift my eyes up to Damian, to meet him smirking devilishly at me.

Everyone rose in shock, wondering what had happened. But I was the one who was affected the most.

My mate just rejected me.

But why?
