Chapter 10: First day at the Academy

Next day!

Ding! Ding!!

An alarm continuously rings beside the bedside, and Jaden woke up very early at 6:00 am, to get prepared for his journey to Edinburgh. He used both hands to rub his eyes, as he got up from the bed, and stretched out his body.

He went straight into the bathroom, to take his bath, and came out after fifteen minutes with all his hair, wet. He had a towel tied to his waist and another one around his neck.

When he got nearer to his wardrobe, Jaden took a dryer and dried his wet hairs. After he was done with that, he put on a nice outfit. He wanted to look good on the first day of resuming to the Academy.

By the time he was through with everything, it was already eight, in the morning. He came out of the room with some of his luggage, and head directly to the living room, where he met Williams, sitting down.

"Good Morning dad!" Jaden greeted with a smile, and sit beside him.

"Morning son, how was your night?" Williams smile back at him.

"It was cool but short! I slept late, and woke up early."

"hmm, you are nervous right?" Williams asked as he stares into his eyes.

"Not really, I'm just anxious to see how the Academy looks like?" Jaden says truthfully.

"You would love it there! Your mom also attended the Academy back in..." Williams quickly shut his mouth as he seems to be going deep a little, about the past.

"Wow, mom also attended the Academy?" Jaden sounds excited.

"Did I mention her going to the Academy?" Williams pretends as if, he never said anything of such.

"You did dad... Don't you remember?" Jaden seems disappointed after Williams changed what he just said.

"Oh, probably it was a mistake! Let's just forget about that for now, and focuses on your trip." Williams made sure to twist what he just said.

'How did Williams found out that I attended WAVA? I remember I never for once, mentioned it to him!' Susan thought inwardly with a confused expression.

She was about to enter the living room when she suddenly heard Williams mentioned her, going to the Academy also. She paused in her tracks to hear further but was surprised when Williams had a change of mouth...

"When are we leaving?" Jaden asked as he kept on checking his wristwatch every minute.

"Let wait a little longer, your mom would be ready soon."

"Okay, but I will miss you so much, dad!"

"Same here son... Just continue being the respectful, and gentle boy that you are when you get there. Stay away from bad friends, and make sure to eat well so you can have strength." Williams calmly advises him.

"Trust me, dad, I will never tarnish our family's image no matter what." Jaden gave him his word.

"That's good to hear. Come over here!" Williams extends his hands to him. Jaden moved over to him and hugged him.

*Clears Throat*

Susan clears her throat as she walked into the living room. "Let's go!" She said indifferently and walks out.

Williams helps Jaden with his luggage and took it to the car. When they got to where the car is being parked, he placed the bag inside the booth. Then they started their journey...

On this first day, Jaden would go meet his other families, the ones he will spend years learning with. He will also gain new friends from various walks of life.

He will become part of the WAVA community, and begin that journey of growing into the powerful child, he is destined to become.

All through the journey, there was total silence in the car. Susan was sitting at the front with Williams, who is driving, whilst Jaden was in the back seat.

Jaden has never traveled out of the city ever since he was born, and this journey seems like one of his memorable days ever. He kept on admiring all the tall buildings they came across, as they were about to leave Perth.

He only reads them inside books at his former school but has never seen them before. Jaden was so wowed with all he saw, as the spectacular were great ones.

After about 56 minutes or so driving, they finally get to Edinburgh. Jaden couldn't describe how happy he was when they got to the city.

Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland, and it is located in central-eastern Scotland, near the Firth of Forth, close to the North Sea.

Thanks to its spectacular rocks, rustic buildings, and a huge collection of medieval and classic architecture, including numerous stone decorations, it is often considered one of the most lively cities in Europe.

Scottish people called it Auld Reekie, Edina, Athens of the North, and Britain's Other Eye.

Edinburgh is not only one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, it is a city with a fantastic position. The view falls on all sides – green hills, the hint of the blue sea, the silhouettes of the buildings, and the red cliffs.

It is acuity that calls you to explore it by foot – narrow streets, passageways, stairs, and hidden churchyards on every step will pull you away from the main streets.

No matter how you get to Edinburgh – by train, bus, or car from the airport –  Edinburgh Castle is a must-see destination. You don't need to be a good strategist to know why the castle is located at that spot.

The volcanic hill with the sharp cliffs that have been cut by glaciers is the main reason Edinburgh is located here. From this spot, it is very easy to defend Edinburgh from an attack in all directions...

Jaden felt relieved at the sight of the Academy, some miles away as they continue driving.

The Academy was so big, with different ancient buildings in it. The name WAVA was inscribed on almost all the walls inside the Academy. Jaden was curious to know the meaning as he asked Williams from behind; "What's the meaning of WAVA dad?"

Williams glance at him through the front mirror inside the car, and smile. "It Werewolves and Vampires Academy."

"Wow, I never imagined a place like this could be in existence. It's beautiful, I already like it." Jaden said, happily.

"I thought Vampires and Werewolves are always not in a good term, what changes it?" Jaden suddenly asks, with an uncertain expression.

Immediately he asked the question, Williams and Susan's eyes met. Susan quickly looked away and faced her front.

"Enough of speaking!" Susan gritted her teeth, angrily.

When Jaden saw how angry his mom was, his mouth snapped short. Williams didn't say anything, as he focuses on his driving.

"We are here!" Williams stopped driving and parked the car to one side, inside the parking lot. Immediately he hopped down, Susan and Jaden hopped down too.

"Good morning sir, ma... You are welcome to WAVA." A young lady in her mid-thirties approached them, with a delightful smile.

"Thanks, Miss..." Williams replied modestly. He made sure to check the tag on her chest first, before addressing her as a miss.

"This way please!" She leads the way to the enrollment center.

When they got there, Jaden was given two forms to fill. One for his personal information, and the other for the kind of power he possesses.

Williams was the only one that helps him in filling the first form about his personal information while Susan, just sat, and do nothing at all. When Jaden picked up the second form, he seems confused about how to fill it.

"Dad, how do I fill this one, because I don't know what power I possess," Jaden asked Williams while staring at the form.

"Since your mom is a Vampire, tick the vampire column," Williams answered.

"How about here that says, I should describe the first day I used my power?"

"Since you haven't exhibited any power yet, just put null, they will understand that you haven't used your power before," Williams explained.

After Jaden was through with filling the form, he submitted it back to the person that gave him.

"You're to wait for fifteen minutes, so we will process your admission." The guy in charge of the form informed him.

"Alright, thanks, sir!" Jaden responded. He went back to his parents and notifies them about what he was just told, by the guy.

While waiting for a response, Jaden saw some young boys at one corner, very far from where they are. The boys were teasing a little boy younger than them, in a wicked manner.

They were pushing his head backward among themselves in an annoying state. At the sight of that, Jaden became angry and wishes to go rescue the little boy.

When the teasing got too much for Jaden to bear, he abruptly stood up from where he's seated and wanted to go meet them.

As Jaden got up and wants to leave, Williams holds his wrist and draw him back all of a sudden. "Where do you think you are going?" Williams stared at him.

"Dad, those boys over there are teasing that little boy!" He grumbled angrily as he points towards them.

"There are some things you will see, and pretends as if you never saw them. This Academy isn't just like your former school, you have to be extra vigilant here!" Williams warned him.

"So, if I see something like that here, I should just walk past it, as if nothing happens? Is that what you are saying?" Jaden sounds irritated as he continues to glare at the boys.

"This is for your welfare... Don't ever intervene in what doesn't involve you, at this Academy. It is more brutal here than what you think son! Be careful!"

"I can't believe this is all coming from you dad! How could I just overlook things like that! It's not fair..." Jaden sat down, angrily.

"Listen to your father, and stop arguing!" Susan pouted as she tells him.

Jaden quickly shut his mouth when he suddenly heard Susan. He doesn't want to get on his mom's nerves.

After they waited for ten minutes, the guy attending to them, calls out Jaden's name. Jaden stood up, looking worried, as he walked over to him, to get the final result...
