CHAPTER 29: REBELLION

“Shit!” he cussed as he paced up and down, his complexion definitely not looking too good.

"You need to calm down, man. Even if you do this, it's unlikely that anything will change!"

Patrick paused his pacing and glanced at his friend Wilson, a look of frustration on his face, "Man, you don't understand. I can't seem to find her!"

He was sorry. What was the point of slapping her in the first place?

He'd never scared her like that before, and he'd even raised his voice against her. He didn't even try to listen to her, apologized, and then walked away.

And she was no longer to be found.

"Do we need to file a police report?"

"Wouldn't I be the one in trouble if I did that and the cops found out about how I beat her?" When Patrick heard this suggestion, he grimaced.

There was no way he would leave a blemish on his record, and if he went to the police, his job would suffer as well.

Wilson was well aware of how horrible his record was, but he couldn't think of anything else.
