“You will have to continue with your therapy at least three times a week,” Pierre told her an hour later when her session had ended.

“I know, and thanks to my brother and my boyfriend, I’ve already got someone lined up when we get back home.”

“How are you getting there? England will not be a comfortable ride if you do it by train.”

“My brother Creighton owns a private plane, so I’ll be flying. As far as the car ride to and from the airport, I’m sure it will be fine.”

“You’ll have to rely on your medical experience to guard against DVT and clots. We will send you home with a walker and you have your canes. The sooner you get out of the wheelchair, the quicker your recovery will be.”

“I’m aware of all of that,” Irena said shortly. “I don’t have to be told how to take care of myself.”

“The nurses said you haven’t used your walker,” Pierre continued as he pushed her down the corridor toward her room, wondering if the woman was as disagreeable with everyone, or just him.
