I'm seated at the table, next to Cedric. 

Jake and Nina are last to drag themselves lazily to the table. Jess is scowling at me, sitting right next to her husband.

A middle-aged man by the name, Walter, is the chef and the one who set the table. According to Fidel, Walter and his family have worked for them even before he was born. Talk about loyalty.

Walter has made fish and rice. The fish is so tantalizing that if I was just alone with CJ, I'd lick my fingers. But I'm with all these new people and I should have manners for the sake of CJ.

Since Jess and I talked, I have been craving to put her on the spot. That's the only way I'll know if she was lying or not.

"Jess," I start. "Would you like to tell me what CJ told you he's planning to do to me?"

"What!" CJ is startled.

"Yea," I turn to CJ. "According to Jessica, you, are planning to do something to me."

Jess interrupts. "I didn't say no such thing!"
