~Luciano~I continued to go through the emails on the computer and didn't pay that much attention to my mother. All I cared about at the moment was to get Hazel back. She doesn't care that much about Hazel, so I will do it all alone."I know you're mad because I never mentioned to you anything about the forbidden son."My mother paused and heaved a deep sigh. I didn't say anything,I pretended as though I didn't hear what she was saying in the first place."It's because I didn't want you to see your father in a different light."The corner of my lips curved into a bitter smile when I heard my mother's words."So you were hiding our dad's flaw from us so that he could look like a perfect father who never makes any mistakes? Why did you do this to us, Mother? Why?"I asked, clenching my hands into a tight fist."Do you know what his Mistakes has cost me?"I paused and took a deep breath to calm my nerves."It has cost me my wife and our unborn babies are now in the hands of his forbidden son
~Luciano~"If signing the documents will make you prove that indeed I meant what I said, it's okay."My mother said and took the papers from my hands. She carefully studied them and then signed.I couldn't believe that Mother had just signed something that she was against. She handed me the papers and I looked at it just to make sure that she had signed it. I remembered her sign so clearly, indeed, she had just signed it.I didn't mean it when I said that I would let the position go. I was just trying to threaten her so that she could sign it. But why did it take so long for my mother to change her mind? I was still mad at her.I know what she went through is a lot and that's why she was against everything but, she just hurt me in the process and it will take time for me to forget about everything."I will be in my room."My mother said and drove herself out of my office on her wheelchair and I couldn't help but look at the door even after she was gone.I couldn't believe that she had g
~Luciano~"Calm down, young man. You're still impatient, I see. I think you forgot something important about leadership. A good leader should be patient.Patient is a virtue,I think your father forgot to mention it to you."The old man said and the corner of his lips curved into a smile.I felt like punching him so hard across the face but I took a deep breath to calm down.I know he was just trying to provoke me and there is no way I'm going to stoop low like him."You don't have to worry about anything because the half-breed is safe."I clenched my hand into a tight fist when I heard the old man's words because he pissed me big time."If you dare touch even a strand of her hair, you will regret it I swear.!" I said through gritted teeth and all the old man did was smile."You don't scare me anymore because I don't belong to your kingdom, Luciano. This is our kingdom, I would talk nicely if I were you."The old man said and my jaw twitched in anger. After exchanging words some more, Nikol
~Luciano~THREE DAYS LATERI closed my sore eyes and heaved a deep sigh. I have never closed my eyes to have a rest since I visited the Rogue Pack to check on Hazel. I haven't gotten time to go back to visit her because we are busy planning everything. I just hope that Hazel will be able to understand that…I'm doing everything to make sure that she comes back to us.I hope she doesn't think that I have abandoned her because I had explained to her everything. My men, Marcus, Sebastian and the forest king have been so supportive. They have come up with different ideas on how to go about the whole matter and the plan is ready to be carried on.Some of Marcus' soldiers have sneaked into the rogue kingdom and I asked them to keep an eye on Hazel and make sure that she's doing alright. We tattooed them with a temporary banishment mark so that no one would know that they didn't belong to the kingdom. My army, forest army and Sebastian's soldiers will be there to back us up in case of anything.
~Luciano~I turned my head to look at Sebastian and he looked surprised too. I know Mark has always been against me but…I never imagined that after finding out that Nikolai is a traitor, he would still side with him.My heart twisted inside my chest when I gave it a thought.Mark should be supporting me now that I needed him the most.I heaved a slow sigh to calm down.Nikolai walked towards us with a glass of wine in his hand and the corner of his lips curved into a smile."See who is here. Would you like a cup of fine wine?"He asked and I gritted my teeth. I looked at Mark with grave eyes and he shrugged nonchalantly,as though siding with the enemy who wants our family's crown is not a big deal."So you thought that we wouldn't find out that you're coming today?" Nikolai turned his head to look at Mark, exchanging silent words. What more has Mark told the old man? I couldn't help but question myself. I looked at Mark and realised that he had a banishment tattoo on his arm. I could tell
~Luciano~"Mark, please open your eyes!"I cradled his face and hooked it gently as though doing so would make him open his eyes and look at me just one last time."I'm sorry about everything, Luciano. This is the only way that I could help you out since you turned down every attempt that I made to talk to you. I just wanted to help out and that's why I came to the rogue kingdom to convince Nikolai that I'm supporting him. I know I have done a lot of awful things to you but…"He was talking to me through the mind link and his voice faded away."No! Open your eyes, Mark! We are not done talking."I howled and pulled him into my arms, hugging him so tightly.I felt helpless and I couldn't help but wonder what I was supposed to do. I recalled what we do to my soldiers when we are on the battlefield and one of us gets injured. I ripped off my shirt and wrapped it around his chest to prevent excess bleeding. When I was just about to lift Mark from the ground and carry him in my arms, I felt a
~Luciano~I hugged my mother tightly as we watched the doctors take care of Mark. They turned on the defibrillator and placed the sticky pads on either side of his chest but it couldn't detect his heartbeat that fast and it requested for electric charge."We can't lose him, Luciano."My mother cried out, clinging onto me so tightly as though doing so would help."Mark is strong, I know he will fight to survive."I encouraged my mother so that she could hang on as we waited for the doctors to inform us about Mark's progress. It was not that easy for Lycans to have a cardiac arrest because they are stronger than werewolves.Lycans have a strong support system and a strong heart, that's why they are rarely affected by heart related disease. It only means that the wound was so deep. The thought of it made me more worried.I watched as the electric current activated and it took effect. I held my breath, silently praying to the moon goddess to keep Mark alive because I'm not ready to lose him,n
~Liciano~"Mark is Nikolai's son?"I asked in a low voice because I was not that sure about what I had just heard. How can it even be possible? Am I his son too? I couldn't help but question myself silently."Luciano…"My mother called in a worried voice and I could see fear in her eyes."Is it true, mother?" I wanted my mother to tell me that she was joking. That she didn't mean what she had just said. There is no way the old nag could be Mark's father. Mark is my little bro and we belong to our father, the late king of the Southern kingdom. My mother closed her eyes and took a deep sigh.I had a bad feeling about what she was going to say and my heart pounded wildly against my ribcage."Yes,he is."My mother confessed in my face and the little hope that I had crumbled."I'm your stepfather, son. You should get this silver chains off me."The old man said in a mocking voice and a chuckle escaped his lips."Shut up, old man!''I said in alpha command and the surroundings trembled a little. I
