Chapter 96

Lydia's pov

I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock ringing or at least that's what I thought until I picked up my phone from a near by the dresser and saw that it was a phone call from Aunt Gomez.

Quickly, I stood up and picked up.

"Good morning, Aunt Gomez… I've been trying to reach you."

I said as soon as I picked up the call.

"Good morning, Lydia. Have you seen Maya recently?" She asked in a calm voice that scared me more than it should have.

"Um, not really. I was actually at your house just yesterday to find her but you weren't there. Did something happen?" I asked, shooting from my bed in worry.

"No, no. Everything is okay. One last question, did she tell you she was going anywhere the last time you saw her?"

"Not really…what's going on, Miss Gomez? Is everything alright."

"I'll call you back, Lydia."

She said and immediately hang up.

I stared down at my phone in confusion.

Did something happen to Maya?

I wondered silently, my heart rate increasing in an unhealthy rhythm.
