CHAPTER 34:Vivian followed the bird's orders and soon enough she had every maid working in her uncle's household under her control. They all bowed to her, emotionless and did whatever stupid thing she ordered them to do. Happy with the new power she got, she went back to her room feeling like the world was wrapped around her fingers. She felt that soon enough, she'll get everything she desires with her new power. Her rage has decreased a bit but her will to kill Aileen and take her place has not yet died down in fact she felt more motivated to carry out her plans. She feels she stands more of a chance now with the power she has been given and wonders why they never gave her this power in the first place. "It would have made things easier and faster." Vivian mumbled to herself as she sat at the chair in front of the vanity table and stared at her reflection on the mirror. "This face should have gotten you Joshua but because of that stupid mating bond he choose someone else." Vivi
CHAPTER 35:AILEEN'S POV “You found something that could…” Joshua, Ryan and Xander spoke about the book that we found at the castle while I stayed with Berry. She was staring at me and I had no idea why. Did she remember me? That would be very unlikely as Xander wiped away her memories, but what if she does remember me because of the things that just happened. I did hear from a doctor that if people face what they had faced in the past, be it bad or good, they are bound to remember something that they had forgotten. We continued to stare at each other without saying anything and my heart began to beat against my ribcage. I got enough of the silence and opened my mouth to say something but she cut me off. “Aileen… It's you isn't it?” I stared in shock at Berry as she called out my name, my eyes were wide open. "Yo… you remember me?" I stuttered and Berry nodded with a half smile on her face. My heart leaped with joy. I knew from the states she was giving me that she recognized m
CHAPTER 36:AILEEN'S POV: I turned back to see Berry looking terrified and her hands were trembling. A hand covered her mouth and a small knife was placed under her chin, very close to her neck. "Legion what are you doing?!" Xander yelled furiously and I saw his veins fighting to come out. He wasn't the only one angry, I too was furious when Legion showed his face behind her and slowly tried to retreat with her. His hands were trembling but he didn't look at us.Legion stumbled a bit but he held Berry close and the look of desperation filled his eyes. As he missed a step when he began to move backwards, the knife grazed Berry's neck and she winced from the contact. A red long line appeared on Berry’s neck and a drop of blood fell from her neck to the surface of the small knife. My eyes almost saw red. "Stay back or else I'll kill her." Legion threatened, looking from me to Xander and then to Joshua. Everyone was on alert, I gritted my teeth and folded my hands to a fist as I tho
CHAPTER 37:Joshua POV"We should just kill this bastard." Xander suggested while glaring at Legion. Legion knew better than to look up and meet any of our eyes, he was defeated so easily and it was so pathetic. I wondered why he dared to do such a thing when he knew he was no match for me alone, after seeing me fight at the hideout, not to mention fighting all three of us against him. "You know I wouldn't have hurt her, you could have just let me escape. I would have left her in a cave or something and she'd find her way back home." Legion mumbled and Xander saw red. I almost saw smoke coming out of his head and ears, he took a swing at Legion and Legion fell to his side, his face designed with yet another bruise. "Why would we let you abandon her in a cave you moron." Xander was ready to throw another punch his way but I stopped him, we needed to question him properly to get our answers. "Enough Xander." I barked at him then turned to Legion, "Now tell us truthfully, why did yo
CHAPTER 38:AILEEN POVJoshua was ready to attack and I, though I was exhausted, did some warm ups to get myself ready to attack. "Stay behind me." Joshua turned to me and instructed, he had a worried look on his face and pleading eyes. He wanted me to stay out of the fight but that was something I couldn't do, I wanted to help him and fight for those who have been hurt. Passing through the streets with not a single soul around made knots to form in my stomach. I had a sinking feeling and seeing that tree controlled by dark magic attacking that family only made me angrier."I'm not exhausted at all, I was but now I'm ready to." I assured him but he wasn't pleased. "Hey, wasn't this what we agreed on? Let's protect each other." I pouted then started to do some jumping jacks. "I should never have let you follow me." He mumbled and I went ahead of him and charged at the invaders. I was glad I followed my gut feeling and followed Joshua here. If something had happened to him while I st
CHAPTER 39:JOSHUA POVThe war was intense but I gave it my all. The wolves were strong and put up a good fight but I defeated them.At a point in the fight, I was surrounded by wolves and one dug into my back with his claws and I groaned from the pain but kept it in and continued fighting. My back hurt so much and I was overwhelmed with rage, I turned to the wolf that hurt me and swung my claws at it's face. I bruised it badly but that wasn't enough for the pain I felt. I went closer to him and bit his neck. I tugged in deep and he struggled for dear life but I showed no mercy. Another was coming to attack me as well as I was dealing with the one that scratched my back but I quickly let go and stepped back. The wolf ended up landing on the injured one on the ground and scratched it's face. The one on the ground growled and pushed it off of him immediately and the other samasult on the ground but I quickly got up, shook the sand off his fur and charged at me with five other wolves.
CHAPTER 40:AILEEN POVJoshua and I made our way to the gate after several battles and helped each other from anything that was going to attack from behind without our notice. At the gate, there were several enemies trying to get in and the gate was locked. "Before we get in, we have to be sure none of them can get with us." I said out loud as I thought of the perfect thing to do. Although it would hurt me badly, I needed to get Joshua inside. His blood made a trail behind him and I could feel him getting weaker. He wasn't healing like he was supposed to.'Do you know of another way to get in?' I asked through telepathy. 'Yes but it's very narrow and can only be used by one person at a time.' Joshua answered back. 'Where is it, we have to get in.' I stated again. 'Alright you'll go in first and I'll follow behind.' he agreed and sniffed out the place while I blocked him from behind. I really hope Joshua would forgive me but right now he's the one that needs help not me, he needs
CHAPTER 41:AILEEN POVEverywhere became dark and I felt my head hit something but I didn't feel the pain. My eyes slowly opened, my vision was blurry and I couldn't make out a thing. I rubbed my eyes with my hands and blinked a couple of times, till I could make out the chandelier on the ceiling. The place was beautifully decorated with flowers on the table and beside me, purple curtains, and expensive furniture. I groaned as I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my head and I quickly brought my fingers to my temples and rubbed them softly. It didn't work but I still continued. I sat up in a sitting position and tried to make out what was going on. I was the only one in the room and I don't remember a thing that happened which could have led me here with a headache. I tried to remember what happened but it only made my headache worse."What happened?" I asked myself, my voice was almost unheard and cracked at the end. I cleared my throat and looked around for a glass of water but f
CHAPTER 109 {THE END} AUTHOR'S POV “Luna Aileen is still bleeding, bring in some hot water and fresh towels. Quickly!” Servants scurried about in the corridors and hallways as Aileen’s screams of pain rang throughout the entire place. Her curses were also loud enough for people to hear, if she wasn't in a critical condition, it would have been funny. Meanwhile, Joshua was pacing in front of the doors, the smell of his mate's blood was making him more agitated. Joshua had changed, his hair had grown a bit longer, his eyes lighter. He had a half crescent moon on his forehead, a symbol of the Protector. He looked a bit mature now but everyone could feel the nervousness and pain rolling off of him in waves. He winced when Aileen let out another string of curses. “If you impregnate me again, Joshua, I'll make sure to cut it off! I'll castrate you! Arghh!” “Push, Luna Aileen, I can see its head.” “Urghhh!” Aileen let out another scream and in the span of some hours, the cries of ne
Chapter 108AILEEN'S POV “Years ago, my parents were killed by the Dark Realm Lord, just before Sera the Dark Realm was destroyed. I was already a child who had knowledge of those things so I wanted revenge. I joined Sera as a spy, I and my right hand man, Osris started to look for how to get revenge since his parents were also killed and I came across a prophecy. It talked about you and your powers. I don't exactly remember how it goes but it says that anyone who controls your powers would be able to control the werewolf world. I was scared that Sera would find out and she would want to use you. I tried to kill you, as you know. I changed all the books containing your powers so she didn't find out. A lot of people listened to me instead of her. So yeah, all along, I only wanted to kill you because I didn't want you to fall into Sera's hands.” Terry explained as he took us to the runes. I didn't say a word but I didn't think I expected this. I always thought that he was the bad gu
Chapter 107 JOSHUA'S POV “Ugh…” I let out a cry of agony. My chest, along with the rest of my body, was in such excruciating pain that it seemed like I was on fire. Sera had given me something, but she did not disclose the name of the substance; however, it was poisonous. My intestines felt as if they were being gnawed on by a million ants, in addition to the sensation that I was on fire myself. In the beginning, I was cold, but as time went on, the temperature rose so much and then afterwards, I was unable to feel my arms and legs. After then, my eyes turned completely dark, and I was unable to see anything. In spite of the fact that I waited for my hearing to go out as well, the sound was still excruciatingly loud, and the beating that came from the room next to mine was a form of torment. Those three women who came with Aileen were being punished by Sera. To my great relief, Xander and Berry were not present, and neither were the townspeople. So at least, some people were
Chapter 106 AILEEN'S POV“Aileen, Sera, she... she..." Both Elysia and Lia came to a complete stop directly across from us, their eyes widened in surprise. They came to issue a warning to us about Sera, but it was too late; Sera had already become aware of our presence. "Oh, what? Does all of you here have the same goal in mind? I was taken aback when I discovered that the woman who had attempted to kill me and then spied on us was actually with Aileen, Elysia, is it? I have been pondering on many ways in which I could trick you and convince you to join my side. Sadly, I will have to put an end to your life at some point, since you're with Aileen. I hope you don't take offence to that.” Sera gave a shrug and started walking in our direction. Instantaneously, my eyes sharpened, and I moved directly in front of Joshua, shielding him. However, she only smiled at us and stopped some meters away from us. “The fact that you came to my territory and attempted to kidnap my man, assassinat
CHAPTER 105 AUTHOR'S POV Darkness lightened up as the moon rose higher and higher into the sky, and its brilliance descended upon the village below as if there were no problems at all. Owls hooted, insects chirped, and birds sang in the night sky. There was a distinct musical composition that resulted from the sounds, which people would either find irritating or agreeable to the ears. It wasn't just that, though. The villagers gradually emerged from their condition of being puppets, staring at their walls in a state of amazement and wondering what they had been doing when they were in this state. Some of them were overcome with feelings of guilt as they recalled the events that had transpired over the preceding few days. All of these were observed by the pairs of icy blue eyes that were standing in the shadows and watching them with a triumphant smirk on their faces. As they emerged from the shadows, their hair, which was a metallic silver colour, glistened in the wind. They were
CHAPTER 104AILEEN’S POVWhen I told Elysia and the others about what I had seen the following morning, I made sure to include everything that I had seen, without leaving anything out. For a little period, everyone was silent, and I could see that Elysia was attempting to persuade herself to reveal something to us. On the other hand, I did not speak up because I believed that if it was something that she couldn't readily say, then it had to be really horrible.“The fact of the matter is that the three of us were born in the same way that Sera acquired her abilities.” While Elysia began, I, along with Berry and Xander, was unable to comprehend what she was saying."Could you elaborate on your words just a little bit? I'm not entirely sure I understand what you're talking about."All right... When Sera gained her abilities, we were in the castle. You have to understand that our parents were taken captive many years before the conflict broke out. The master of the dark realm was involved
Chapter 103AUTHOR'S POV "Terry, it has been about a month since you have been looking for that woman; why are you still looking for her? It's too late; she's gone, for good!” Sera yelled, her eyes widened in rage. One more debate had been begun by them regarding Aileen and whether or not she had passed away. "Have you located her dead body?" Terry switched his attention to Sera, his eyes narrowing and his lips pressing against one other as he did so. “We did not, but I'm telling you that..." "In the event that we did not find her body, do you not believe that your presumptions are a little distant from the truth? Literally, she vanished before our own eyes! In addition, we have not been able to locate her body since that time; what further leads you to conclude that she is not alive? It is your recklessness that will ultimately lead to your demise, Sera.” Sera scoffed, “Fine! I admit that I'm a bit reckless. You, on the other hand? How could you possibly believe that I am unawar
"He's fine now, isn't he? In addition to that, we were successful in deceiving Sera into believing that the bug is still inside of him. Whew, it was a very fortunate escape." As she leaned against the wall, Elysia closed her eyes and sagged forward. She looked like she was about to fall just from standing for too long. Not only did she have dark circles and eyebags around her slanted eyes, but all of us did as well. "I am relieved that it was successful. So what comes next?" Concerned and hesitant, Xander asked with a low voice. Xander was typically so talkative, so I had never seen him exhibiting such a low profile. “We came to the conclusion that he would be the covert agent inside the manor. In light of the fact that the both of us able to interact telepathically, it would be convenient for me if he could inform us about anything that is occurring inside. Perhaps he could also give us a heads-up whenever Sera is about to organise some other scheme or something.” After removing t
CHAPTER 101AILEEN’S POVAt that moment, we were waiting for Joshua to restore his composure; for him to move his body so we could begin our plan. It has been three days since he made his initial movements, and it appears that he has regained control over his limbs and even his thoughts. Even though right now, his senses were comparable to those of a kid, he was still aware of the fact that if Sera discovered him moving, he would be in danger. By the end of the fourth day, he was already walking on his own. He was even talking to himself, asking where I was and calling my name in a quiet voice, much like a toddler would. Not only did it take everything I had to keep from crying, but it also took everything I had to keep from jumping down from where I was hiding and running to hug him and tell him all of my problems. I could hear footsteps coming towards the room, and Joshua could hear them as well. As a result, he immediately sat down in the exact position that he had been sitting in
