THE DISCOVERY

ANNALISE POV

I smiled at Ace from across the room. Ace was currently having a meeting in the far corner of our living room while I sat and watched N*****x. Every three minutes, I feel Ace's gaze on me so I look up and send him a smile. I've been living with Ace for over three weeks now and everything is pretty normal. He takes me everywhere and when we're together he never gets his hands off me. I feel happy with him and he's very rich so he gets me everything I want at anytime. I am still on the quest to discover what Ace is because he's clearly not human, which has not in any way drawn me far away from him. Ace is unbelievably fast, he growls, goes out mostly at night and most times zones out with this glassy look in his eyes like he is a different dimension. With this anyone would conclude he's a vampire but I argue against that.

Why?

I will explain. Ace has a heartbeat which vampires lack, Ace is also very warm unlike those vicious vampires and Ace is not repelled by garlic so I have come to a conclusion that he is not a vampire. But what could he be? a demigod? a wizard? a werewolf? and I had only one way to find out, I had to invade his office, his study, go through his most important documents and everything else.

In the last three weeks, I have added colour and life to the mansion. There are now colourful little pillows on the couch, flower vases in designated parts of the house, colourful paintings around the mansion and my favourite part of everything, led lights. 

I have also been feeling extremely out of myself these past weeks. I get dizzy suddenly and then I lose my voice for hours, I see objects around me switch positions and I once slept for eighteen hours. I have decided to keep this away from Ace not wanting him to worry like a caveman and decided that I would visit the doctor soon.

From the corner of my eyes, I saw Ace walk up to me with a big smile on his face. Not giving me the time to react, he plops down on me and groans. "Ace you're crushing my bones" I groaned trying to push him off me which was a weak attempt but I try anyways. "I'm not even that heavy" Ace said crushing himself further into me. When Ace usually does this, its either because he's hungry, wants physical contact from me or he's tired and wants to take a nap and right now, I'm guessing its the last so I knead his hair with my fingers slowly putting him to sleep "I'm so exhausted, I want to take a nap but I feel I've been away from you for way too long" Ace groaned with a husky voice. I giggled when I felt the vibration of his voice on my lower stomach. I continued my kneading and before I knew it, Ace was out as light. I gently placed his head on one of the little pillow and covered him with a blanket before sneaking up to his study to continue my research.

I opened the door as quietly as I could before walking in. I looked around not knowing what shelf to start from, I headed to his table. The papers were perfectly placed on the table, I knew I had to be careful else Ace would suspect I had been here. I read the papers very fast and placed them back in order, but through my searching from his table I found nothing against Ace. I ran to one shelf and searched hard, then to another shelf and then I had searched ten shelves with nothing to show forth, on the brink of giving up a book fell off the shelf like it was waiting for me to pick it up. I dusted the front cover and in bold red prints THE EVOLUTION OF HUMAN WOLVES was on the front, my quest for answers got the best of me then I opened the book, before I could read a word I heard Ace calling me from the door and so I panicked and dropped the book. I could hear Ace stalking to where I was so I kicked the book under the shelf and grabbed a random book. "Why do you look so terrified" Ace said walking over to where I stood. I gripped the book harder with my shaking hands so Ace won't pick my fear up. "You scared me there, I thought you were still asleep" I said sending Ace a smile. Ace stalked closer to me and pressed my back against a shelf. I gulped visibly as many thoughts swirled through my mind, I wondered if he was pissed or if he caught me. "You really are a tease huh?" Ace growled into my ears. I stood on that spot too stunned to speak so I croaked something that sounded like a question. Ace wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me inhumanly closer to his body "What were you thinking, walking around without a bra on?" Ace growled this time making me feel and look like a prey. I attempted to talk but he shut me up "I could as well devour you right now you know but I fear my hunger for you will scare you off" and for some strange reasons his words turned me on. I drew my legs closer instinctively and bit my bottom lip nervously "Those lips should be bitten by me but since I want to give you a taste of your own medicine, I will take is so slow you'll be begging for me" Ace said completing leaving me breathless, not giving me a chance to regain my composure, I felt him give me a slow hot kiss on my neck. "I want you so bad Annalise but I will walk at your pace" He said taking his time to kiss the hollow of my neck. Ace moved to my soft spot below my earlobe and bit the skin so sensually I wanted to scream hell. Not wanting to give him the satisfaction of moaning, I pulled him closer and tucked my hand into his lower hair. 

This action however seemed to unleash the beast in Ace. He slammed his lips against mine and didn't even let my tongue fight for dominace as he completely claimed my whole existence. Ace kissed me so hard I thought I was going to run mad totally unprepared for getting dirty with Ace, I gently pulled away from him "Maybe we're moving too fast" I said clearly aware that I am out of breathe, with a hickey or perhaps multiple ones, swollen lips and face as red as tomatoe . I walked past him not missing the look of shock that was boldly plastered his face. I headed out of the study and to the kitchen since its almost time for dinner, I decided to fix us something simple. I was stirring the sauce in the pan when Ace walked into the kitchen with a stern look on his face "Are you feeling sick Annalise?" Ace asked staring daggers at me. I looked up "No, I am totally fine. Why?" Ace walked over to me, turned off the cooker and made me face him "You pushed me away. That was literally you saying you don't want my hands on you" Ace whined with a pout on his face. I peeled his hands off me "I only said we were moving too fast, let's take it slow" I explained. Ace glared at me "Why are you moving away from me?" He growled. His attitude was starting to piss me off, he is not in any position to tell me what and what not to do. I threw the napkin on the counter and tried my best not to yell "The world doesn't revolve around you Ace. I will touch you when I want to and you will touch me when I desire, stop being so pushy" I said and pushed my way past him heading to the stairs. I didn't make it halfway to the stairs before I felt everything around me become blurry , I heard Ace yelling before everything finally went black as I passed out.

I didn't know how long I had been in this state but I knew I needed to drink water. The voices around me stopped me from opening my eyes immediately, I could hear Ace and someone talking in hushed voices. "How is she doing doctor?" I heard a very concerned Ace ask the doctor and my heart broke as to how sad his voice sounded. The doctor flipped few pages of a book before answering "Its only a fever for now" what does he mean by for now? Ace replied immediately "What do you mean?". I heard the doctor sigh "From the tests we ran, there has been some significant changes in her organs, we don't know what exactly but something is wrong" the doctor said. Immediately my heart beat increased, could I be possibly dying? I don't want to die. I want to live with Ace for a very long time, I want to give my mother her grandchildren, I want to travel to Africa, there are many things I haven't done and now this? 

I however listened to their conversation some more "What do you mean by that?! If something is wrong fix it. Why then are you a doctor?" Ace half yelled at the doctor. There was a pause for a while before the doctor spoke again "There is nothing medically that can be done" 

Oh No. I am going to die from something not medically diagnosed and recognised.

"Say that one more time and I will break every bone in your body" Ace growled the the doctor. "You can't threaten me when you're clearly the cause of her issue"

What? Ace has done nothing wrong to me in the last one month.

"Her human nature is going against the attraction from your wolf while working with the attraction from your wolf at the same time which is causing a strain in her and she's changing to some mythical creature that's not a wolf Ace" the doctor said "We don't know for sure if it is harmful to her but let's wait for any further change in her" and walked out of the room.

What?

Ace has a wolf, does that mean? and his wolf is changing my human which is harmful to me? 

Fuck!!!

I peeked and saw a devastating looking Ace rooted on that spot. His eyes were watery with a look of intense guilt he looked close to breaking down at any moment and all I wanted to do was 

wrap him in my arms and tell him its not his fault and that I will be alright.

"Ace?" I said with a hoarse voice. Immediately his eyes snapped to me and he guarded his emotions "You're awake" Ace said not making any effort to come near me. This broke my heart a little but I didn't show it "I need water" and then his feets navigated him to pour me a glass of water. He handed me the glass and insignificantly moved away from me, if I hadn't overheard them I wouldn't have noticed. Now I belive why some things are better left unknown. Just when Ace wanted to open his mouth to say something Brianne and Daniel entered the room as Brianne rushed to my side "Annalise, are you alright?!" She said squeezing me in a bear hug, Ace used this time to slip out of the room. Brianne spent more time with me before Daniel came to take her away. Few minutes after Brianne and Daniel left, Ace came inside without any emotion on his face. "If you feel better, we can go home" he said from the door. I didn't want him to distance himself from me, I loved his obsession with me but I guess nothing lasts forever as Ace wouldn't even meet my eyes. I got down from the bed and walked towards him, before he could slip out of my reach, I grabbed him by the arm "Is something wrong Ace?" I asked in a small voice. Ace looked around for a while never really reaching my eyes before nodding his head in the negative and mumbling that nothing was wrong before heading out.

In the same manner, the drive home was silent. Ace would not speak to me, he wouldn't look at me it was very obvious he was avoiding me. I decided that I would take matters into my own hands when we got home

ACE

After hearing the news from Dr. Willow only one solution came to my mind and that was to avoid Annalise. I can not think of how I can go the next few weeks away from her but that was the best. I informed Willow that I would be leaving the pack and it would be nice if he carried out occasional tests on her to notice any change. My heart broke when Annalise asked me in the hospital if something was wrong, all I wanted to do was wrap my arms around her and never let her go but since she's affected by me, I decided to keep my distance from her.

We got out of the car but I didn't help Annalise out of her side which I would have done. I headed straight to the room to pack my bags. While I was packing Annalise walked in and sat on the bed beside my stuffs "Where are you going?" she asked looking at me weirdly. "I'm going away for a while on a trip" I said with my head still in my walk in closet. "Have you helped me with my bags" She asked with a smile on her face. I paused before answering her "You aren't coming with me Anna" I said and immediately regretted because the look of hurt on her face was so disheartening. I walked to my bag and zipped it up when Annalise suddenly stood in my line of vision "What did I do wrong Ace?" Annalise asked. "Nothing" I replied fighting my masculine urge to throw her over my shoulder and show her who the boss is. "Then why won't you look at me and why are you calling me by my government name? You're going on a trip without me and I can't even remember the last time you touched me" Annalise explained throwing her arms around.

I took a deep breath to suppress my masculine hunger but Annalise had other plans up her sleeve "You're ignoring me Ace" she said walking closer to me. I blinked before realizing what Annalise has switched our positions and I fell on the bed with a thud like she cast some kind of spell on me. 

Annalise was sitting on my torso and my hands instinctively went to rest on her ass. "I could think of a thousand ways to apologise to you right now but I wonder which one you will prefer" Annalise said not even making any effort and I was so bricked up already.

Thankfully, my desire to stay away from Annalise to make her better overpowered my desire for whatever she had in mind. So, I picked her up and gently dropped her on the bed "You are not seducing me into doing anything" I picked my bags from the bed and left a very shocked Annalise on the bed. As I went down the stairs she followed me, so I stopped in front of the door "Do not go out without Brianne, wear something that goes well below your knees if you  want to go anywhere. Lock the doors at night not like anyone would dare to harm you but we can't be sure" I said sizing her up and thinking about how good the shirt she is in currently gives accent to her breast. Annalise glared at me from where she was "So you're really not taking me along" She whined and placed her arms on her hips looking like my favourite tea cup "You aren't going with me, stay  at home and I'll be back before you know it" I said walking out of the door already. There was about a minute silence before Annalise spoke again "Might as well find someone who will fall for my seduction" and at that moment something in me snapped. I flew from the door and slammed Annalise against the closest wall "Never even think of it because I will squeeze life out of any guy that breathes the same oxygen as you. You belong to me, every damn part of you is mine and I will fucking dominate it when I get back just to show you who wears the pant in this relationship. Do you understand that?" I growled into her ears before pushing myself off her.

Annalise stood in shock before mumbling that she understood stood me. I gave her shocked face a kiss on the lips and a very prominent hickey that should last the next one week.

I headed to the car and drove off with one mission on my mind and I never thought I would have to go back to that excuse of a witch but I guess I will do anything for Annalise. I am currently on a mission to visit my trusted witch: Raven who is over  three thousand years but cast a spell to forever look fifty. I took a sample of Annalise's blood from the hospital to give Raven to run some tests on and I can only cross my fingers that the issue with Annalise isn't life threatening.
