ACE

After a terribly long drive of about seven hours, I arrived at Raven's place. I shuddered at the disgusting aura in the atmosphere wondering why anyone would actually live here but since Raven is a witch, she's exempted. 

As I parked my car in the stony compound, Raven opened the door to her house and smiled, I would never get comfortable around this witch. "Alpha Ace, its a honour too see you here in my disgusting abode" Raven spat glaring at me with a smile on her face.

"Raven. I am not in any mood for your taunts and I will have you know that I still find your abode disgusting" I said and walked past her into the hut, like a literal mud hut in the middle of the forest.

The only reason why I am here is for Annalise and although there are many witches in the world most of them situated in Brazil the only person I would trust with this case is Raven. My acquaintance with Raven is a reward she is paying me or she has been paying me for over six hundred years. We go way back to when the humans took sovereignty from gods and other mythical creatures. "You look tense" Raven said dropping a mug of tea on the table. I grumbled but took a sip of the tea anyways. "I am in situation" I grumbled once again and one thing I hate is admitting to having problems. Raven kept quiet and let me do the talking. "I have a mate" I said taking a minute to observe Raven's expression. After a few seconds Raven smiled "That explains the different atmosphere around you." I rolled my eyes at her but listened to her anyways.

Raven continued "A mate is a good thing. A blessing to every wolf but I do sense a different energy from your mate. Is she human perhaps?" Raven asked staring at me with focused eyes. I thought about Annalise and how perfect she is and her humanity should not be a limiting factor to our mate bond "Yes Raven. My mate is human but that is where the issue lies, she's also not human" I explained to Raven.

"I might be a witch Ace but I won't know somethings unless I'm told" Raven repiled with a bit of sass in her voice. I rolled my eyes at her again but proceeded to explain everything starting from when Annalise and I met.

I pulled out the blood sample from my pocket as I rounded up my story "So I need you to help me check what is wrong. I brought her blood samples" 

Raven cleared her throat "Ace. If it is what I am thinking then we are in a big situation". I hate it when Raven sounds like this and I am concerned at this point "What do you mean?"

Raven took the blood from me and walked over to the small room attached to the hut "This Annalise comes from a rare breed. I have not tested the blood yet but there was a similar case many thousand years ago but the girl was mated to a vampire"

I followed Raven into the room "Mind explaining this to me" I grumbled. "Are you totally dumb Alpha?" Raven spat pouring the blood into a pot and saving the rest. "This dumb Alpha owns your existence" I growled back. Raven looked intimidated, who wouldn't and walked out of the room "We'll have to wait three days for the results to be out. While we wait, here is a book on what Annalise might be"

I hate constantly reminding Raven that she's indebted to me but in all honesty, I saved her life. I took the book and walked to the study trying not to remember how Raven and I met.

~FLASHBACK~

Everywhere was in a mess, various bodies around the streets. The strongest gods had fallen and everyone was looking for a means of survival. There was mist around air and groans of the fallen, everywhere was bloody and even I could not bear the sight.

Two months ago, the peaceful existence of gods was disrupted when the humans suddenly came. They were a group of ten humans who possessed dangerous strengths, they were discovered to have the blood of Jupiter and the other six vicious gods. How they got it is unknown and their identities are also unknown but their presence in the world made the other gods shudder in fear and the fight did not end in the favour of the gods.

Totally at the submission of the humans, the gods and humans struck a deal that gods will retreat to the underworld with little to no contact with humans. The gods, vampires, witches and many mythical creatures agreed to leave but there was one witch who fought against the humans and this witch was Doris: Raven's mother. Doris stood in front with Raven behind her "Just because you deem yourselves worthy does not mean we all will serve you" The whole crowd gasped in disbelief everyone too stunned to speak. The humans in anger laughed eerily "You think because you're a witch who casts spells all the time has given you the audacity to stand against us, this is not Harry Potter witch now take your abracadabra to the underworld" The humans said making fun of Doris. But still Doris was not timid, she was not intimidated "Without the stolen power, none of you would be here now so do not speak like your specie is so high and mighty" Doris spat at the humans. This however seemed to anger the humans greatly "Why don't you try being a powerless witch in hell?" the humans spat back at Doris before turing her into large river of acid that flows into the underworld where other witches were situated. "Mother" Raven screamed as her mother slowly turned into the river of acid. The whole crowd gasped again mostly in fear and no one dared standing against the humans in fear of becoming something worse. Still in the fit of rage, one human turned to Raven "So the bastard was your mother, how about we avoid anyone from her lineage growing to stand against us" Raven with fear in her eyes pleased with the humans "Please, I beg do not do anything to me" but the humans laughed, "Your punishment will not be as vicious as your mother's because you have done nothing against us." and cursed her to become a pillar of salt. The disgusting smell in the air increased as Raven slowly faced her punishment.

At this time, I had been a werewolf for about 500 years with some specific powers, so after the humans banished the mythical creatures and left for a while to make the place uninhabitable, Raven begged me to help me. At this time, Raven was a very petite woman and a little i experienced in her witchcrafts "Please blessed one. Save me" Raven who was half a pillar of salt begged. And I never did favours without getting anything in return, powers, wealth and everything I posses was as a result of rewards for my kindness "What will be my gain?" I asked 

The pillar of salt shed tears "I will do anything blessed one", after thinking for a while I decided that having my own witch would not hurt "I will help you, only if you pledge your existence to me" I said. Not thinking twice Raven agreed and ever since then she has helped me with everything magic, including making my pack almost invincible and in return, she'll gradually become the most popular and strongest witch and that was how our bond was made under the clause that if Raven ever backed out or betrayed me, she will end up becoming a pillar of salt

~END OF FLASHBACK~

I kept glaring at the book in my hand then Raven walked in "Are you staying here or you're going to an hotel?"

I looked away from the book and glared at Raven "What is this crap?" I said slamming the book on the table. Raven looked taken aback for a moment before regaining composure and looking at me back in the eyes "Alpha, this is just a possibility of what your mate might be. It is not yet--" 

"Shut the hell up before I tear you limb by limb. There's is no way on earth Annalise is one of this disgusting and vile creatures" I spat angrily at Raven.

"The choice to believe lies in your heart but that will not change the outcome of events. If she truly becomes one of these creatures, the universe is in danger as every one will be after her" Raven explained with a bored expression on her face.

Everything in me screamed the possibility of it but I refuse to accept. Burning with anger, I stormed out of Raven's home. I need to get out of here, I need fresh air, I need to breathe all these is some form of sick joke. 

Impossible 

No.

So I drove far away from the forests and deep into the city, I need anything to get my mind off wherever the hell it is I just read. I wanted to call Annalise now but it's well past midnight and she would be asleep already so I resorted to drinking. I stormed into a nearby bar with the aim of drinking myself out of reality but I know how impossible that is. My alcohol resistance level is unbelievable but I drank anyways.

After hours of chugging down bottles on bottles of beer, I was still very much awake and sober. "Hey there" some girl dressed in what could be classified as under garments showing off literally her whole nakedness a practical whore said taking a seat next to me. I looked at her and almost puked, she was the complete opposite of my Annalise. So I decided to ignore the bug until it went away.

But human bugs are as disturbing as actual bugs "What are you doing drinking alone?" Bug asked looking at me from under her lashes and I found myself getting more irked. Annalise does not look like a bird whenever she looks at me from under her lashes. 

Once again, I ignore Bug. But I guess she does not get the fact that I do not want her anywhere near me so I lost my temper when Bug touched my chest "Look here Bug. I do not want you near me, I do not want you touching me and all I want now is for you to get the hell out of my face before I end your existence" I spat at Bug.

It took bug a minute to process what just happened but when she finally did, she literally ran out of my face. After thirty more minutes of drinking, I headed to my car. I do not care what happens anymore, Annalise and I will be together. Plus I am sure these mythical creatures: Raven and the doctor are speaking rubbish. I started the journey back home at four in the morning estimating that I will get home before noon.

At about fifteen minutes till twelve, I packed my car infront of the house and almost flew out of my car. I missed Annalise, so much.

I jogged to the door and went inside wondering why the door is opened. "Annalise!" I yelled into the house but was faced with silence. I checked the kitchen, the rooms and didn't see Annalise. Noticing my stress level going a little over the top, I went outside to the pool area just for confirmation and guess who was in the pool 

Annalise and a bunch of pack members I have never seen. I stood on the spot, shocked and unmoving before someone shrieked "Alpha!!"

The house was empty faster than the speed of light. I stared at Annalise who looked like she was on the brink of passing out. I realise that my face is void of emotions and I was fuming with anger. Annalise was in a bikini with a bunch of unmated males who were just shamelessly staring at what's mine. 

"What's the meaning of this?" I growled trying my best not to yell  at her. Annalise looked at me like a kid who got her candy stolen "I'm sorry Ace, I did not mean to get on your nerves. I just wanted to make friends" Annalise explained with tears in her eyes. I was so pissed off but the tears in her eyes calmed me down. "Come here" I said opening my arm for a hug which she gladly accepted and ran right into my embrace.

But the only thing I noticed was how warm Annalise body temperature was. I immediately became paranoid remembering the indistinct feature I read in that book from Raven but then her body could be warm on normal grounds although all the wheels in my head were turning and something kept telling me its the features of the creature in that book, but I refuse to believe.
