The next chapters are a sequel of Alpha Hudson and Luna Phoebe's son - Alpha Heron and his story. Here's a preview of what to anticipate. The prologue shows what happened to Heron when he was sixteen years old. Then the first chapter is two years later when he meets his mate.
The Detached Alpha
Blurb:
Heron's birthright is to become Alpha of FireBricks Pack. However, after being kidnapped at age16 and experimented on by a crazy scientist, he is left in a wheelchair. After meeting his fated mate, he feels reborn, but is later crushed. He goes into remission. His father, Alpha Hudson, suggests that he takes a Luna and produce an Alpha heir for the sake of the pack. Forced by the pressure of the council regarding the welfare of the pack, he chooses an Omega mate, Mikayla.
Mikayla is an Omega who's been bullied by her former best friend and associates. But being one who carries out her duties well, Luna Phoebe recommends her to serve at her son's cottage for strictly household matters. At first, he treats her with contempt and Mikayla is convinced that he hates her. Therefore, when the young Alpha, in a heated argument with his father, announces that Mikayla will be his chosen Luna, she freaks out and is absolutely frantic.
Was it some sick joke? Can love blossom out of an arranged union between the Alpha and his chosen Omega? Will the council accept his choice? Or will he discard his Omega and chase after his mate?

In this chapter Alpha Hudson and Luna Phoebe's son, Heron, is sixteen years old. *HERON'S POV* “Alpha Carter, we would love for you to join the Batch for the fall semester,” Dean Vassell tells me, but I have no interest in being here. Balking, I was in his office under my father’s constant nagging to further my education. Impassively, I took the pamphlet out of his hand to look at the programs to decide what to pursue. “I’ll review these before making a decision.” The Dean of Luckingham College stood from his desk and bowed, “Have a good day, Alpha.” I wheeled out of his office, and down the corridor of the college halls. Dad wanted me to resume my studies and so I obliged. He was trying to help me get my life on track and take over the pack, but to be honest, I believe that my sister, Pandia, was very much capable of being their Alpha instead of me. *HERON'S POV* Sensing my wrath, Forbes did to the guy, what I channeled to him through our mental link. He kneed him in the groin, sending him to the floor once more, clutching his mid area in agony. He sputters from the blow and coughs as spit flies from his mouth. His face gives the most horrendous sight. “Tell us what we need to know,” Sage angrily demands while he stands at my side. The strategy is ever the same. Forbes lunges and attacks the enemy, but Sages protects me by not leaving my side. “She’s a troublemaker who doesn’t know how to behave for her own good,” the dark-skinned guy retorted as he leaned his injured frame against the wall for support. “We will find her.” In my mind, I was thinking of the many ways that I wished to send him to hell. Feeling disgusted by their presence, I thought that they should all die. HERON’S POV- - Sitting around the dinner table, my sister snuck up from behind and hugged me. “What’s up, little brother?” Her infectious smile always made my mouth curve into one as well. “Pretty much the same. You know how boring I am.” A frown subdued her features as her lips thinned. “If your life is so uneventful, why don’t you make things happen for yourself? Go visit your friends from high school or start college.” I glanced at Mom, who refused to look at me. She must have egged Pandia into being her accomplice. The obvious guilt was plastered on her face. “My life is fine as it is.” Dad had not joined us yet. Usually, Mom does not allow us to begin without his presence. So, something must be keeping him away. However, my Beta and Delta were here with me. “Your commanding officers should not be cooped up in an isolated cottage. Closing my eyes, I inhaled sharply to quiet my nerves, though the rapid drumming of my heart prevailed. Lowering my head, I longingly stared at the door handle in my hand before entering the room. “Is this her?” After entering the room, I stood the standardized seven feet from the seated Luna. My hands were to my sides, fidgeting with my uniform. The heat of the Luna’s gaze filtered into the room, and multiplied my anxiety. “Yes, Luna,” Cecilia answered.
