It was clear to all that the missing maid, Sophia, was working for their enemies.

He swept his gaze through the crowd one more and landed briefly on a particular maid standing stiffly at the far back of the assembly.

She was a striking woman, tall and slender with the kind of sharp, haughty beauty that often masked a cunning mind.

Her chin was perpetually tilted upwards as if looking down her nose at everyone around her. Arrogance was written all over her demeanour.

Knox gave the maid only a second glance before an unseen power lashed out with rapid, vicious force without uttering a word or even moving his hand.

The insolent maid let out a shriek of pure surprise and horror when the invisible energy slammed into her, flinging her forward like a rag doll tossed by a bored child.
