The ride to Zayden’s pack was silent.
He didn’t say a word, and I didn’t dare speak either.
My hands rested in my lap, trembling slightly as I stared out of the car window.
So this is how my life would be now?
All the tales of the women he had killed flashed through my mind and I couldn't help but wonder how much longer it would be before he killed me.
I turned to look at him, looking away when he turned to look at me.
Zayden was attractive, with long black hair and red eyes.
He had a strong physique hidden under all those clothing.
But he could kill just as easily as he could seduce a woman.
And I had to pay mind to that.
When we arrived, the sheer size of the mansion overwhelmed me.
“Are we staying in the pack house?” I turned to him, saying my first words since we got married.
"My home is away from the rest of the pack. Don't expect to see anyone here,” Zayden replied and I turned back to the building.
This place was far from home, but I just had to keep my mouth shut.
Zayden stepped out first, not waiting for me. He pushed his door shut, startling me who was just about to walk out.
A guard opened my door, and I hesitated before following.
My legs felt weak as I walked into the estate, and I feared it may give off beneath me.
If that happened, then I would be kissing the floor, and I don't think Zayden would appreciate that.
A maid greeted us, her head bowed low.
“This way, Alpha,” she murmured, leading us inside.
I could feel her fingers shaking in fear and I wondered why.
Silently, we walked behind her, none of us saying anything to the other.
The halls were dim and creepy. Sending shivers down my spine.
It seemed as if someone was watching me, but each time I turned around, I didn't see anyone.
How has Zayden been staying here all alone?
My eyes flickered to him for a brief moment before I looked away.
Every step we took echoed faintly, increasing the tension in the air.
It felt weird listening to our footsteps, and so I tried to zone it out.
A few moments later we stopped in front of a door. The maid turned to me, waiting for me to go in.
“This is your room,” she said softly.
I nodded my head, not certain of what to do again.
Then she added, “You are not to leave without permission.”
What?
Not to leave without permission? Am I a slave here or what?
My chest tightened and I glanced at Zayden, trying to understand what she meant.
But he didn’t even look at me, instead, he muttered, “Stay here. Don’t test me.”
So me leaving was going now to test him? I was just expected to sit at a spot till now, even?
I wanted to say something, to protest, but I decided against it.
If I was going to survive, I needed to do all he said.
When he was certain I wasn't going to speak, he walked off, leaving me standing there.
The maid, who had been standing there, opened the door, and I stepped inside.
The room was large, with a piece of furniture and a soft bed, but it felt more like a prison than a sanctuary.
Because why was I expected to stay in here all day for the rest of my life?
Okay, sure, they said to ask for permission before I leave.
But I'm supposed to be the Luna. How could I?
After making sure I was all right, the maid stepped out, the door clicking shut behind her.
I was left in a deafening silence, all alone.
The silence pressed down on me, and I sank onto the bed, feeling trapped.
I don’t know how much time passed, but the silence became unbearable.
I stared at the walls, my thoughts spiraling and the walls stared back at me.
I couldn’t stay locked up like this. I needed to move, to breathe.
But you were told not to leave.
A voice in my head reminded me, but I ignored it. It was either my sanity or their rules.
And we all know what I chose.
Ignoring the warnings, I opened the door and stepped out into the hallway.
I looked both ways, checking for if the way was clear.
As much as I wanted to explore, I would run back in if I found someone coming up behind me.
When I see no one, I let out a breath, pulling the door shut quietly.
My heart pounded as I walked, half expecting someone to stop me. But the corridors were empty.
The mansion felt like a maze.
I turned corner after corner, not knowing where I was going.
I just wanted to feel free, even if it was only for a moment.
Eventually, I stumbled upon a large room filled with books.
It was a library.
The air smelled of old paper and dust.
For a second, I forgot where I was. The shelves filled with books and warm lighting drew me in.
I ran my fingers along the spines of the books, letting the small comfort of this place calm me.
Then I heard footsteps.
Oh no. Someone caught me.
I froze, my body going rigid. Slowly, I turned around.
A man stood in the doorway, his eyes locked on me and my heart stopped.
“Zayden?” I whispered, taking a step back in fear.
He had warned me not to leave, and yet I…
Wait.
I squinted my eyes, staring at him.
This wasn't Zayden.
At first glance, I thought it was Zayden. They had the same sharp features and the same imposing frame.
But then I noticed the difference. His eyes weren’t fiery like Zayden’s, they were cold. A piercing blue shade that sent chills down my spine.
“Who are you?” I asked, my voice shaky.
He didn’t answer right away.
.He stepped into the room, and I took a step back.
He looked exactly like Zayden did, there was no question about who he was.
Even though I knew who it was, I refused to believe it.
“Alphonso,” he said finally. “Zayden’s twin.”
Twin.
My breath caught in my throat and I struggled to form a sentence.
They were identical, yet the energy between them was completely different.
Zayden was fire—unpredictable and overwhelming.
Alphonso was ice—controlled and calculating.
But how come no one knew about Alphonso?
I wondered as I kept my gaze on him, watching for any sudden movements.
He exuded power, and I feared he was going to hurt me.
As he approached, something shifted in the air.
A strange warmth spread through me, and my heart raced.
No.
This can’t be happening.
But it was. The connection was undeniable.
The pull was there, strong and unmistakable.
This wasn't the first time I felt this way.
No, moon goddess. You can't play this kind of trick on me.
I stared at him, horrified.
He’s my mate.
Alphonso’s eyes widened slightly, before they went back to their normal size.
He felt it too.
But he didn’t say anything to me.
He didn't reject me, but he didn't claim me as well.
And for a moment, I felt disappointed.
“You shouldn’t be here,” he said. “Go back to your room.”
I couldn’t move. My legs felt glued to the floor.
“Tania,” he said sharply. “Now.”
The sound of my name snapped me out of my daze and I stumbled past him, my mind racing.
No, no.
This shouldn't be happening to me.
I couldn't be so unfortunate.
Two powerful twins and I was stuck between them.
Married to Zayden. Mated to Alphonso.
Fate was playing a cruel game with me.
Tiana's POV.My heart pounded hard against my chest as I stared at my mate, his face being the exact reflection of my husband's. I still could not believe it. If not for the reassuring feeling within me I would have sweated it was a lie.Who was this man? Why does he look so much like my husband? And how does he know my name?"Tiana, are you listening to me? I said leave!" His voice was calm, sharp and controlling while Zayden's was hard, blunt and commanding. Why was I comparing them?"Who are you?" I asked in a hush voice. I wondered where I got the courage to ask him such questions. Why was I not scared? Was it because he was my mate? Did others also feel this feeling of security around their mates?"That doesn't matter for now," He replied then suddenly turned behind "Someone is coming,""What?" His words sent me my heart racing in fear and panic. I was told not to leave the room, had I known I would be caught I'd never have left.If Zayden finds out I disobey his order I will be

I sat on the edge of my bed, staring at the keychain still clutched in my hand.It was supposed to be our anniversary gift. The thought that Matt had rejected me on the day of our anniversary sent another wave of pain through me.
