Chapter 189: Sasha At The Palace

Alaric's pov

After a confrontation with Diana, we had finally made things up and the emptiness in my heart seemed to dissipate but there was still a certain worry that crept in my heart as I wondered when next I could see her again.

There was no means of communication and it was way too risky to reach out to her as the king had his eyes and ear everywhere. It would only be dangerous for Diana.

The night passed by so fast and I slept with a feeling of content in my heart.

The next morning arrived much faster than I would have wanted it to.

Once again, it was a busy and gruesome day just like every other day that had rolled by in the palace.

The air was gloomy, devoid of laughter or happiness, it was never there, to begin with but now it was worse as the servants had been grilled by Mordrid and still ordered to carry out their work without a break.

Diana's words resonated in my mind as I looked upon the scene before me as the servants reluctantly carri

This made me wonder what else he did, or matter of fact what he did in general other than flying around with those magnificent black wings. After which, he disappeared into the night sky leaving me surrounded by the darkness in the middle of the woods. Then again, it wasn’t his fault, the moon had been the one to have brought me here in the first place, and now I had to find my way back to the pack all alone. It wasn't really scary considering just how much power I wielded within me, according to the

My palms on instinct began to sweat within them, and when I came face to face with one person I had expected the least as I had never seen her in the pack for a while now. Ava.Her silver hair glistened under the moonlight, which made her appear radiant, “Ava, what a surprise, I haven't seen you in such a long time.” She stared back at me with her usual stoic expression, “I asked what you are doing here?” she ignored my greetings and a move at a conversation as she went straight to the point.I swallowed the lump that formed within my throat as I realized she had not been informed of my stay in the Crescent Pack, hence why she qu

I wouldn't have thought she could so menacingly make a person squirm with nothing but a glare, it was as though she was about to jump the guards before I pulled her away from them.“If you would indulge me in what you mean by you can be of help, I would really want to know why you are here in the palace.” We entered a fast trot as I led her towards a quiet area where we could converse without prying ears. She peered up at me through her lashes, “You had left so bubbly

My heartbeats became louder as fear crept into it, the thought of me bleeding to death flashed before my eyes as the injury she had inflicted was rather deep.My breath came out shaky as I huffed, a cloud of mist formed before me, my hands trembled as I grazed the wound on my stomach and flinched at the sudden sharp pain before bringing it up to my face. I watched as the silver liquid dripped slowly down my fingers.Raine continued to fuss and ask if I was alright while propping me on his lap as he yelled out for the pack’s doctor to be woken up,“You're gonna be fine okay, nothing is going to happen to you.” There was a sense of panic that lingered in his eyes. He proceeded to place a hand under my neck, and another one under my knee and moved

I do know where Diana was, I just needed to know what secret she had hidden during the investigations, the little twitch and the nervous picking at her finger.“You, with the blue scarf, you're Marilyn, right?” I questioned in the hallway, stopping them in their tracks as they all turned towards me.She responded looking reserved and confused and a bit fear streaked.“The others can leave,” I ordered both her friends that were beside her. They bowed, casting a worried gaze at their friend before they left.I waited and watched how her hands found their way to each other and began to pick at themselves. She was already nervous and I had only stopped her.“Shall we move to a place more quiet?” I inquired softly as to not scare her more than he already wa

What could possibly be the secret that had brought her to the palace? It couldn't have been something simple, to the point of leaving her mate behind. If I remembered now, his name was Malcolm, a reserved man with a few words in his dictionary. He had also been quite hostile and open in my presence “Yes, your highness. But first, I would like to thank you for your hospitality, the guards had been more than helpful, as well as the maids, despite the chaos in the palace you still made that possible.”I pursed my

As once Emily knew of her existence and her purpose of being here, there's a 100 percent possibility that her father, Prime Minister Hughes, was going to find out. That was exactly what I tried to avoid as she continued to probe, “How do you happen to take notice then?” I grew annoyed at the open interrogation but nevertheless answered her.“Because I was involved in the interrogation that had been carried out by the king, enough with the questioning, I thought I told you to stay in doors,” I shifted the conversation in the way I saw fit.The sun's harsh glare was not a place for either one of us to be under, especially one who was heavily pregnant, I expected her due date in at least the next few months.A smile c

Before I knew what was happening, he was ripped away from me and I was thrown into a state of confusion.“What the hell do you think you are doing?” Ava growled as she glared intensely at me, holding Raine behind her.I tilted my head and frowned in confusion. Chapter 293: A Royal End Diana’s pov The pack apparently had been silent as they waited for our return. We were bloodied, bruised, and exhausted as we arrived at the pack, carrying the injured as well as the losses we had amounted to, which was quite a number from both packs. We had won the battle but we had also lost a lot of lives in the process, was that really a win? I spotted Alaric, who might have just been waiting for us to return, running towards us before wrapping me in his arms and lifting me into the air, holding me close to him. His scent was intoxicating. I thought I would never see him again. The exhaustion had finally caught up with me and I collapsed in the safety of his arms, he pressed my hands against his chest and inhaled deeply, “I'm glad you're safe.” The sound of his voice comforted me, but at the same time made me feel guilty for what I had done back in the palace. The tears pooled at the corner of my eyes as I realized he was the last of his kind, “I'm

Chapter 292: Finally Diana's pov Karen and I met up while the others remained and watched the fire burn, leaving one after the other and not wanting to be caught as the fire spread rapidly. Karen had been thinking about it for a long time. She had wanted the werewolves to be on their own while the humans would be in their own zone and both shouldn't cross paths, “As much as I like you and you're a really good person, it's only for the best.” This I understood completely and wouldn't have had it any other way. We came to an agreement before staring at the blazing fire, it was going to burn as the size of the palace was humongous. This would also clear whatever had been killing them as we didn't want it to attach itself to us. It might have only been the lycans, but who was to say it didn't affect the locals as well? It might just be taking much longer before it attacks us. My prayer was to the moon goddess that it would wait for a very long time. The humans and the werewolves th

Taking in a large gulp of air, I laid down beside him and his twin brother. He was alright, I repeated this in my head and thanked the moon goddess for not taking him away. She had been by my side the entire time just as she had promised. After taking that log of air, before finally realizing that the room had been occupied by the others, Karen, Roy, as well as others who had followed us into battle. They stood staring back at me as I stood to my feet and helped Daniel sit up. It was quiet, save for the shuffling of feets.Being surrounded by so many people, months ago I would have been scared and shied away but now here I stood. Our mission that day was to save the humans and the werewolves from the hands of the lycans but we had done more than that.“The Lycans after witnessing the death of their king had lost all hope to fight and fled the scene,” Kar

Chapter 290: Snapped Neck Diana's povIf I remember correctly, the pendant had been manufactured by Luke's mother, the witch. Apparently, it was made specifically for Silver bloods. I didn't know the full extent of it, but having been attacked by it with the king before, it had something that made us weak.“You think that's going to hurt me?” I stared at the pendant quizzically, the king had only held it out to me when there had only been a moment of weakness and nothing more, which was the same thing that happened now.Donald chuckled, “It might not hurt you, but might keep you down enough for me to kill you.” The smirk had vanished from his face and his eyes darkened, taking a step towards me with his hands stretched out in front of him. From this distance, I could already feel the effects of the pendant. A constant ringing that got louder and louder, it felt as though the very blood that ran through my veins was boiling and I felt hot all over.My teeth gnashed against each other

His voice had changed as well as his accent. His smile morphed into the soft smile I had always known Daniel to have, but in the next second, it disappeared, there was something different. He cackled at my perplexity, “You are not Daniel, are you?” I questioned his weird behavior. He shook his head, “I didn't peg you to be really slow, Diana. Then again, it's not like you can tell the difference, can you?” “Daniel is my twin brother, bring him out boys,” he yelled out and two of the guards brought out an identical person, dragging him by the hands while his knees scraped the floors. This version of Daniel was looking bruised and battered and on the verge of death, “Allow me present to you, my younger brother, Daniel,” he triumphantly said as he walked off the dias and towards the real Daniel. They were really identical tw

Chapter 288: A Riddle?Diana's pov It was over.Standing at the highest point in the palace for everyone to see and gazing down at them as they all came to a stand still.Hughes laid with his back pressed against the earth for everyone to see that the kingdom had finally fallen.A kingdom with no king is as good as doomed, at least that's what they said but I seemed to disagree, it didn't matter if we had a king or not, what mattered was peace and equality. This was a show and the Lycans knew that they had lost the battle and the war, and it was only a matter of time before they faded away into dust. There would only be one Lycan left in the kingdom.I needed to find the queen and the princess and save them, my thoughts trailed back to Alaric. He shouldn't have to suffer the loss of being alone, as much as I hated the both of them. The queen had been nothing but spite, holding me down on her leash like I was some dog, threatening me every second she had gotten, and the princess had b

The humans, the werewolves, as well as Beatrice and the others that had been left behind. While the rest of us would be making our way to the throne room or wherever the king was, he would have to pay for the crimes that he had committed. We moved into action, the lycans were not a force that could be reckoned with, maybe a few months ago, now they were like children in the hands of mere wolves.Fighting then wasn't the problem, as we moved as a team, but we also needed to hurry and end this as soon as possible.I ran up to the throne room where I thought he would have been but encountered two of the guards which I had to fight. After putting them down I questioned them and found that the king was in his chambers.A coward he was, slitting their throats right afterward and making my way towards his chamber. They were most likely captured and we have to do whatever we can to get them out, as well as your sister.” Helene sniffed and cleared up her nostrils, “I see you've finally met Beatrice.”I nodded, “We had already met quite several times, we need to storm the castle with whatever we have, but first I need to help him get stable.” They all stared at me with looks of determination, Alaric came up from behind me, his hands circling a

I thought all this while I had to protect her when she could protect herself. At least Diana and the others had been able to escape, we just needed to worry about ourselves, but I was already getting exhausted. After going head to head with at least four of the Lycans, taking a few hits here and there, my focus was lost and I received a fatal blow in the guts, which I doubled over, gasping for breath. The lycan stood over me as I raised my head to look him in the eye, a smirk sat on his lips as he knew he had the advantage now.
