Shannon’s POV

I sat on the edge of the couch, my palms sweaty, heart pounding like a drum in my chest. The room felt too small, the air too thick with tension. Mom paced back and forth, her eyes fixed on the ground, lips pressed into a tight line.

Robin leaned against the wall, his gaze avoiding mine. I could sense their discomfort, mirroring my own.

“Mom, you can’t be serious,” I pleaded, my voice shaky. “I won’t do this. I won’t be forced into something I don’t want.”

Mom stopped pacing and faced me, her expression stern. “Shannon, it’s for the good of the pack. We can’t let anyone find out about you being mates with the boys , especially after what happened.”

I looked away, anger and frustration bubbling within me. “It’s not my fault. We didn’t choose this. Why should I be the one sacrificing everything?”

Robin shifted uncomfortably, clearing his throat. “Shannon, we all have to make sacrifices for the pack. You know that.”

“And why is it always me!” I snapped. “And this? Getting m

Shannon’s POVI left the brothers to themselves and walked into the living room, Robin and mom asked to have a word with me. I agreed, ready to hear what they had to say.Robin, persistent as ever, suggested something absurd. “Shannon, we believe Brendan is still a good match for you. It’s important for the pack’s stability.” Robin said.“I don’t want to go through with it, not after what happened.“Sweetie, please. It’s for the best. Maybe he made a mistake before, but Brendan is a good boy.” Mom added.Still seeing that they didn’t believe me about Brendan’s affair with Leila, “But Mom, things have changed. I can’t just ignore what’s happened and go on being his mate.”“Shannon, for the pack’s sake please, reconsider. We can work through the issues.” Robin pleaded.I had never see Robin this way, begging for me to do this for the benefit of the pack, and my heart softened a bit. “Fine, but I’m not sure how this will work out.” I finally said.“It’ll work out just fine I’m sure,” Mom

Shannon’s POVMy phone rang, as I sat in my bedroom on my bed, interrupting the series that I had been watching. Mom’s number popped up.I groaned in distress. This was going to be one long conversation.“Hello Mom?”“Oh sweetheart, how are you? I miss you so much!” Her voice filled my room through the speakers of the phone.I had decided to speak with her on hands free.I cringed at how loud she was. She never learned that she wasn’t supposed to yell while talking on the phone till now, and I was actually very tired of lecturing her on it.“I’m fine, mom, and I miss you too. How’s Robin? When are you returning?” I asked, a small and genuine smile spreading itself on my lips for the first time in days now.I truly loved my mother. Apart from Leila, she was the only other person who actually cared for me in the world.“Oh he? He’s fine. He’s been such a sweetheart. Took me on a picnic the other day. We don’t know yet, but we should be back by the end of the week.” She drew out the last

Shannon’s POVI sighed deeply as I entered the bathroom, my mind occupied by the events of the last few days. After the triplets had suggested the silly competition between his brothers that horrified me to my core. They all felt they were the real father of my child.I had thought about who could the real father be among them, but I didn’t really cared who was, just as long as the three of them would stand with me and be ready to be a father to the child. It didn’t matter much, but what I needed now was for them to help me out, together.Unsurprisingly, they all agreed, making me more surprised how childish they were being. A slight hint of annoyance bubbled up in my senses. Any other woman would have been flattered; the three alphas and heirs to the throne were fighting over me, and my unborn baby.I should be excited about it, but unfortunately for some reason, I wasn’t. I hated the way that they were treating me as if I were some sort of toy that they could claim ownership of. Why

Shannon’s POVI pushed Jules to the wall, my naked body straddling his. Our eyes never left each other’s, until I pulled him to me by his shirt and kissed him. Our mouths played an endless game, our tongues trying to dominate the other’s. My hands roamed his fully clothed yet soaked body, wanting to feel every inch of him.The fact that his shirt was on frustrated me. I wanted his fully nude body, pleasuring it in all the ways known to man. My body worked on its own accord, my mind no longer having control of anything that I did. I yanked his shirt off him, pausing the kiss only momentarily before slamming my lips back on his.I then moved my lips from his mouth, trailing them along his jaw down to his neck with my tongue. A small grunt left his lips as I bit his neck softly, before sucking on his pulse point like some vampire. I sucked on his skin, combining the sensations that both my tongue and teeth caused. I wanted to be the one to mark him as mine this time. His hands tightened

Shannon’s POVHours after my incredibly steamy moment with Jules, I cautiously approached the dim hallway where I was meeting with Ricky. He had called to inform me that he’d found out something concerning Brendan, which could help me get out of he situation I found myself.I wanted to be the one to hear whatever Ricky had found out first, concerned that the brothers may act irrationally if they did. I had even pleaded with Ricky not to do anything stupid, urging him to just help me break free of the mating with Brendan that Robin and mom wanted to force me into. The air was thick with tension as I caught sight of him leaning against the wall. “So, Shannon,” Ricky sneered, a grin playing on his lips. “Ready to find out what your boyfriend has been up to?”I shot him a cold glare, my hands clenched into fists. “Just tell me what you found.”Ricky chuckled, producing a file from under his leather jacket. “Let’s just say your dear friend Brendan has some skeletons in his closet. Shannon’s POVThe air in the house was thick with tension, the aftermath of Brendan’s vengeful attack still lingering. The family doctor, a sturdy man with kind eyes, carefully tended to Jules in the room.He motioned towards us. “He needs some rest now. Keep an eye on him.” He said to the three of us standing there before walking out.Entering the dim room, I found Jules lying on the bed, exhaustion etched across his face. Ricky and Cole, standing at the doorway, exchanged glances.Approaching the bedside, I whispered, “Jules, thank you for what you did. I don’t know how to repay you.”A weak smile curved his lips. “No need for repayment, Shannon. We’re family.”The words warmed my heart, but concern remained. “You took a knife for me, Jules. That’s more than family.”His eyes twinkled with mischief. “Well, you’re a silly girl, Shannon. I couldn’t let anything happen to you.”I couldn’t comprehend Jules’ stubborn determination, even in pain. “You didn’t have to do that, Jules. Why ar

Shannon’s POVA quiet calm had settled in the house after the recent events. Ricky and Cole, sent away by their father for some reflection time, had retreated to an apartment Robin had since secured for the brothers. Jules was on the fast track to recovery. As I sat in the living room, contemplating the everything that had led us to this very moment, a knock at the door shattered the my thoughts. Opening it, I was surprised to see Leila standing there.“Hi, Shannon.” Leila uttered, offering a polite smile.“Hey, Leila,” I replied, still shocked. The air quickly thickened with tension, and for a moment, I considered slamming the door shut in her face. But I had a desperate need for a friend that moment, and against my instincts, I let her in.We found ourselves in my bedroom, where we usually sent time talking and laughing. Those times felt so distant in my mind and I couldn’t help but miss it.Leila, her eyes scanning around like she was in the room only for the first time, broke the

Leila’s POVAs the door closed behind Shannon and Jules, I found myself alone in her room. The quiet hum of a hidden agenda echoed within me, my secret alliance with Selena fueling a mission that was beyond my fake apologies. The memories of the meeting with Selena played like movie reel in my mind as I waited in Shannon’s room. I had sought Selena out in the school courtyard. She raised an eyebrow as I approached, curiosity and caution in her eyes.“Selena,” I called out, trying to catch her attention.Selena looked up, her expression guarded. “What do you want, Leila?”A sly smile curved my lips. “I have an offer, Selena. One that might interest you.”She arched an eyebrow, intrigued yet cautious. “Go on.” She said.I leaned in, my voice a whisper. “Shannon has hurt both of us, hasn’t she? It’s time we stop being victims and take revenge.”Selena’s eyes narrowed, skepticism evident. “What do you propose?”I quickly outlined the plan to her, and the idea of forming an alliance agains

Shannon, five years later. As the sun streamed through the windows, filling the room with warmth, I found myself chasing after our energetic twins, boy and girl, who are barely five years old. Laughter echoed through the house as they raced around the living room.“Slow down, you two!” I called out, trying in vain to keep up with their energy. But Jules walking in just chuckled from the doorway, his eyes shining with amusement. “Let them play, my love,” he said, his voice filled with affection. “They’re just having fun.”I sighed, knowing he was right. As much as I wanted to keep them safe, I couldn’t deny them the simple joy of being young and carefree. With a resigned smile, I watched as they continued their game of chase and catch, their laughs filling the air with screams.Just then, I felt Jules’ arms wrap around my once again pregnant belly from behind, his embrace warm and comforting. I leaned back into his arms, relishing the feel of his strong arms around me. “How are you and

Shannon’s POVTwo days after the investigation for Jules’ attempted murder, as I entered his room, I found him fuming in his bed, his face twisted with frustration.“They couldn’t find him,” he muttered to me before I said anything, his voice dripping with irritation. “Matthew has slipped through our fingers again.”I sighed as I watched Jules’ restless movements, knowing this was going to be a long conversation. “You need to rest, Jules. Let the guards handle this.” I said firmly, approaching his bedside. “You’re not in any condition to be worrying about Matthew right now.”Jules shot me a glare, but I could see the pain in his eyes. “I can’t just sit here while that traitor is out there,” he grumbled, shifting uncomfortably against his pillows.I gently placed a hand on his arm, trying to calm him down. “You need to focus on getting better,” I urged. “The guards will find Matthew eventually. You need to trust them.”He let out a frustrated sigh, but finally relented. “Fine,” he grum

Shannon’s POVI walked back to the castle, my mind swirling with thoughts about Matthew. He didn’t deny it. He didn’t even try to. My suspicions were like shadows creeping over me, chilling me to the bone. But without solid proof, I felt like I was playing with smoke.I found Jules in his study, buried under a mountain of paperwork. His tired eyes glanced up at me, and I could tell he was bracing himself for another round of my suspicions.“Jules, I need to talk to you about Matthew,” I blurted out before he could stop me.He sighed heavily, rubbing his temples. “Shannon, we’ve been over this. You’re letting your imagination run wild.”I shook my head, frustration bubbling inside me. “But Jules, I just need you to listen. I know something’s not right.”He looked at me with a mix of sympathy and exasperation. “Shannon, I understand you’re scared after everything that’s happened. But maybe you’re seeing things that aren’t there. It’s understandable, given the trauma you’ve been through.

He is trying to pot against you and why won’t you believe me?” I inquired with a very stern countenance plastered on my face.“Oh please Shannon can you please just stop all of this drama? Why are you bothering yourself over something that you shouldn’t? I don’t know what is feeding you with lies but you know better than to believe everything you hear.” Jules snapped at me, walking back to his desk, and sunk into it without giving me any more regard.I knew he wasn’t going to believe me from the start but why? I’ve been on Mathew’s trial forever and it’s enough for me to know that he is planning on hurting Jules. But why won’t Jules listen? Why is he so certain that Mathew can’t do anything to him? Shannon’s POVI stormed into the castle, my heart pounding in my chest. The situation with Matthew had left me unsettled, and I know I had to find a way to make Jules listen to my warnings about him.As I entered the main hall, my eyes immediately fell on Michael, playing innocently with a toy on the floor. Beside him stood Matthew, the man I found so suspicious. My instincts screamed at me to grab Michael and run, but I forced myself to stay calm. I hurried over to my son, scooping him up into my arms protectively. Michael grinned up at me, holding out the toy he had been playing with.I turned to face Matthew, my expression hard and suspicious. “What are you doing here?” I demanded, my voice laced with tension.Matthew blinked in surprise, taken aback by my abruptness. “I came to see Jules,” he replied, gesturing vaguely. “One of the maids told me to wait here, and I saw Michael, so I thought I’d keep him company.”My grip on Michael tightened, my protective instincts in overdrive.

Shannon’s POV.The next day Jules and I moved into the pack house. It was still so surreal to me that I was an Alpha.Jules was almost completely healed now and he kept talking about how it was all because of his training yesterday. I mentioned to him that it was probably because of the training he’s still not properly healed yet but he just laughed in my face.As soon as we arrived in the pack house, we were welcomed by the slaves. They were all lined up in the living room in a straight line dressed in black and whiteThey had to be at least fifty to a hundred of them. What on earth did we need so many slaves for?I wondered as I scanned their faces.I glanced over at Jukes who seemed a little too confident. I wish I had his confidence. It seemed like he was used to it, unlike me.“These are the palace slaves, they are always at your service, They all have been assigned different stations. You will eventually get used to them but for now, these are the most important faces you will

Jules POVI woke up in a brightly lit room. I blinked, trying to adjust to the harsh fluorescent light.“Jules!” A familiar sounding voice called out and I frowned as her face came into view.“Shannon,” I sat up a little too quickly and groaned out in absolute pain.“Hey Jules,” she smiled at me.“Don’t move too much. You have not yet healed up.” She said, her sweet voice wrapping around me like a blanket.“You’ve been released?” it was supposed to be an observation but it came out as a question. I was so happy to see her, I couldn’t believe I had won. At some point, I had completely blacked out but if she was here with me then I had won.“Thanks to you. I’m so sorry for what you had to go through for my sake.* She said, hugging me.I winced at the pain and she quickly let go of me as if I were some fragile glass.“No,” I protested at the absence of her warmth.
