KNOX

It was late in the afternoon.

Since I didn't have anything to do in my chamber - including taking a nap, I made up my mind to take a walk in the compound like I have always done even though it's been a while since I came out.

I had seen Sage a couple of times - like a few days ago when I caught her at the other end. She didn't see me, but I had seen her or maybe she saw me.

Wearing a jacket because of the weather - not just the weather but my health, I walked towards the door with a smile that was planted against my wish.

Arriving at the entrance of the compound, I spent the next moment planning my walk into the compound itself - thinking also about Sage and whether or not I was going to see her beautiful face again.

We didn't have to talk - for all that I knew.

There was so much to do other than talking. Maybe think about that moment in that room, or maybe think about how beautiful she looked in her outfit.

“Greetings, my lord.”

I looked up to meet the gaze of a few wolv

SAGEIt was a good moment. One I didn't know would happen soon. I walked to the gate of the compound and turned to see if I would see the Alpha but he wasn't there. How could I possibly see the garden from this spot? A smile came on my countenance and I walked into the living room, falling on the couch as I heaved a sigh - realizing how tired I had become - merely by speaking to a man. He was not just any man. A smile came on my countenance again. I nodded and changed position on the couch before making up my mind to stand. But on second thought, I sat back and shook my head - wondering also why there were never really wolves in this living room. It was always empty. Was everyone so busy that they did not have some time to spare for each other? A sigh ran out of my mouth as I switched position on the couch - wondering why now I could not think about one thing - rather my thoughts had become very scattered. Knox. The man I had seen moments ago looked weak. Maybe the blood I

KNOXThe last time I thought about it, I realized how much I wanted the pack to have another good moment. What else could it be if not for an event? The thought of it alone made me smile this morning as soon as I opened my eyes. Thoughts ran around in my head and I was on my feet—pacing the space as I thought about the choice I had come up with. How could I ever forget this in the first place? So long as I could recall, the moon goddess had been nothing but nice to me. As a matter of fact, she did a lot by allowing herself and the pack to come victorious during the times when there were wars and what did I do? This was the right time to host an event. Something like never before. Something that would be the talk of the kingdom. For the moon goddess, and the other wolves. What else could she ask for? She had done more than enough for me and the other members and for all that I knew, this was the right time to thank her and this way would be best. Nodding in confirmation. I

SAGE The announcement of a ball event brought joy to my soul. There was no way I wouldn't be happy when I spent almost all day in the chamber and doing nothing exactly. It was just one day, and so what? I would have all the funs I wished to have. Ever since the ball announcement was made, I made it my sole obligation to count down to the last day of the month. This day was coming so fast and I looked forward to spending so much time in the usual hall instead of my chamber - a place I had gotten tired of. This morning, I woke up with a tired sigh running out of my mouth as I looked around the chamber just so I could countdown to the last day of the month, as usual. Sitting up on the bed, I realized that there were only eight days that remained before the month ended. The ball was fast approaching and the thought of this alone made me jump on my feet and reach the closet so that I could take a look. No, there would be no need when I had a woman like Aella in my life. She was goi

ELEANOR Why was it taking so much time to see her dead? It was late in the evening when I had seen Sage walk through the compound with Aella, who sold her and even without her knowing. A satisfied smile had appeared on my countenance, but at the thought of it, I wondered what was keeping the Silver Wolf from coming to life just as I was waiting for. How long was it supposed to take before working? Or did something happen with the meal from that day? Certainly, I put the substance—all of it in the meal. In the same way, I watched Aella take the tray to the dining hall and even watched Sage eat the meal with a smile. What then happened? What happened? I wondered with a sigh running out of my mouth. Once again, I looked at the compound to see that my step sister and her maid were gone from my sight. Just then, I let go of the window, falling on the bed with one last sigh that ran out of my mouth. Sitting back up, I realized I needed to take a walk. The last time I left the cham

SAGEFinally, the most awaited day came to life. With a smile on my countenance, I looked forward to spending some time with the people of the pack. Maybe more because the Alpha was known around the world of Werewolves and could invite others who could not refuse. A knock on the door cut short my thoughts. I looked to my left and moved farther from the mirror, snapping my fingers as I watched the door open. “Good morning, Aella. Did you sleep well last night?” She walked in, all smiles. “Good morning, Lady Sage. I slept more than well. I have come to get you ready for the ball. Do you know you'll be the most beautiful by the time I am done with getting you ready?” A chuckle ran out of my mouth. Indeed, I could not wait to look good. A part of me could not wait for the big day that was today so I walked to the closet and took out the outfit we selected the other time for the purpose of this big event. “I'll go with this—” I dropped one hangar on the bed. “Decisions have been ma

SAGE “Oh, no.” The words ran out of my mind as I looked around, wondering what I would do. Again, I looked at the window closest to me when I realized there was nothing wrong with my eyes anymore. Was this a joke? I didn't take off my gaze for long but moped on until I was certain I might have been imagining these things. What the fuck was wrong with me? Nothing. Nothing was wrong with me because Silver did not wake up and this could only be a reaction to Knox who stared so hard at me a while ago. This was one of the reasons I avoided him and didn't want to stay close because of the reaction my system gets when stares are exchanged. Instead of looking around like I always wanted to do, I moped at the space around me before catching up with a table. A table not so far from Aegon's—how didn't I know? I looked around once again for another spot and there was nothing like that—wouldn't be either. Not when other wolves had settled down on the other tables and if I didn't mind stayin

ELEANOR A smile came alive on my countenance. This was what I looked forward to all my life. How could I not make good use of it? “What?” Again, the fool asked and I turned to face the crowd, facing her before walking farther so that I could stop her from running when she thought about it. “There's something you should know, Sage. A lot you probably don't and wouldn't know about.” “Wh—what are you talking about?” I didn't speak but kept smiling. “What are you talking about?!” Her tone increased. “Eleanor, you of all people should know that I don't have all the time in the world. Our family is going to be embarrassed if Silver comes to live completely and you know I don't have the collar. It's not with me.” “Why should I care about the family's reputation when I can use this to my advantage?” I asked the fool before facing the crowd. The timing was perfect. The potion worked and brought Silver back on this same day because if it had been done so days before, Sage would not hav

ELEANOR The door shut again. No one walked out and from the look of things, no one planned to leave the hall. Studying the faces of the wolves in the hall, I could see nothing but shock on their countenance. “It's the truth—” I mouthed, ashamed already—if not because of anything, but for how they moped at me as though I had committed an offense even when I did not. Suddenly, voices filled the hall. Wolves turned to face each other, leaving me out of the picture. A smile, finally, appeared on my countenance as I thought about how much good or maybe bad I had done on a special day like this. A day that was meant to be one for the Alpha who had walked out a while ago. This was a moment I waited for all my life. How could I not cherish it? The smile faded and I went into my thoughts, completely ignoring the wolves who spoke to each other in loud voices. “How can this be?” Someone asked. “Silver Wolf. How could we have one amongst us all these while?” In disgust, another wolf crie

KNOX**Months laterI woke up to the loud cry of a woman. The voice would be familiar if I had heard Sage cry a lot. But this was worse than I could ever imagine. Sitting up on the bed, I looked at Sage who was seated with her hand rubbing on her stomach. “I think the child is on its way.” “What?!” Jumping off the bed, I rushed to the door and opened it, sighting Brian who rushed in on command. “Aella!” At the top of my voice, I also shouted. Rushing back to the room, Sage was helped on her feet by Brian who had all the strength. Joining strength with the man, we managed to take Sage to the door and it was at this point that Aella showed up, confused. In her night dress. “My lady?!” She cried, rushing to our side but there was nothing she could do, especially when two hefty men were in charge of the current situation. Then, I ordered. “Get her clothes. The baby's and every other necessary thing while you join us at the center.” “Argh!” The shout of Sage and her hand digging i

SAGEMoonclaw Pack? Did I hear the man correctly? “Moonclaw Pack?” I walked towards the door and out of the room. The next time I turned around, Alpha Knox walked behind me. There was a look on his countenance and it looked like anger more than the normal him. Together, we caught up with the entrance of the living room and walked out with anger on my countenance. I knew already that it was the people I once lived with, but what did they want from me? “Good day, Luna of The Darkfangs Pack.” Did that—was that greeting for me? I looked around in shock, not believing my eyes and ears. What did I just hear? I looked at my brothers who had smiles on their faces, wondering also what was funny and why they smiled. “Good day to you—” I let out after some time. “Good day, Alpha Knox.” My husband walked forward. There was a smile on his countenance but I could tell that it was fake. How could it not be? “What can I do for you today, my in-laws?” The old Alpha walked closer. He bowe

SAGEDays after Aegon was buried, the coronation ceremony came to life and everyone in the Pack ran around. With a smile on my countenance, I looked in the mirror at how good I looked—nodding in satisfaction with my heart that looked forward to the ceremony. Everywhere in the compound looked set. I was ready. I could feel it inside of me. What more could I ask for? The smile faded when thoughts of Aegon came running in my head but I pushed it away the next moment, smiling once again with my heart that looked forward to the ceremony. “You're beautiful in your outfit, my lady.” “Thank you.” I turned to look at the maid who did a good job of getting me ready. “Can we leave already?” “Yes—” the maid mouthed. She got off the bed and took hold of my garment from behind. Something Aella should be doing but I struggled so hard to not think about a woman who had done nothing but betray me. She did what she had to do, after all. The Alpha will need to be spoken to as soon as the ceremo

KNOXSage nodded. “I'm ready, Knox.”Taking back her hand in mine, I led her out of the chamber. Through the hallway, we went—with Brian who walked behind me all this while. My guard who never would let me down. It didn't take long to get down the stairs. So many thoughts ran around in my head but I let it be because, at the end of the day, everything would play right. Either right or wrong. “Gather the wolves, Brian. You may leave now. I'm sure the angry wolves cannot do anything to me and the woman. But if they choose to be violent, then we shall have it.” There was no need to play nice any longer. Not when I could turn into a wolf and deal with them. Catching up with the compound of the main pack, I felt something—someone squeeze my hand. “Easy, my lady—” I looked at the woman. “I'm sorry, my lord. Forgive my actions.” Sage looked up at me and then at the wolves who looked so much in her direction while they gathered in front of me. “Where are all the wolves?” More wolves

  • THE SILVER HEAD LUNA; WHEN HER WOLF HOWLS   138: Talk To The Wolves

SAGE I shouldn't have returned to the pack with Knox, but I didn't have a choice because, at that point, the man was not going to let me be on my own, and talk more about finding my way. “You're going back to The pack with me and nothing is going to change that—” In a commanding tone I could not refuse, Knox picked up Aegon's lifeless body on the floor. This was a moment I had refused to believe was real but I didn't have a choice because it played right in front of me. Another reason I could not refuse to go back to the pack with Knox. I didn't want to die, even though it seemed otherwise all these while. A sigh ran out of my mouth and my mouth opened in more tears—while I walked behind Knox who was ahead of me with the lifeless body. How much longer before we arrived at the pack? I was tired. Tired of everything, especially walking such a distance with so many bags to carry along even though it was just one and there was Knox who took everything up in his arms. When does it get

KNOXHow could I explain this to him? “Did you say a woman I have been married to since all these while is your mate, Uncle?” I nodded, ashamed but what choice did I have? “She's your mate. You've known from the onset.” I looked at Sage who had it clear on her face that she was scared. But I shifted closer to her so that she could feel nothing but safety while Aegon remained in his feelings. “Aegon—” I then called. “You need to calm down and listen to me. I didn't mean to hurt you.” “I didn't say you did—” he chuckled, standing on his feet. “I'll need some time to take in this news so you must give me some—” he walked away and was out of our sight. The next time we set eyes on Aegon, it was moments later when he walked back into the scene so that he could take his flask and with this, the man was gone from our sight again. “He hates us—” Sage cried. “I can see it.” “You don't know what you're talking about—” I cried. “He's my nephew and a good man at that. Aegon cannot bring hi

SAGEI didn't know what to feel like. Especially seeing Aegon who I should be avoiding. There was shock on the countenance of Knox who didn't expect Aegon of all the people in the Pack to say that. But what choice did the Alpha have? “I'll go with you if Knox doesn't.” “I didn't say I wouldn't go—” Knox mouthed. He looked away from me and met the gaze of Aegon who watched with thoughts that surely were running around his head. “Aegon, you don't have to do this. The members might come for you if they find out it's you who helped us.” “I got tired of living a long time ago—” Aegon looked at me and then his uncle. “We'll leave in a short while. For now, I need to get a few things ready because it might be a long journey and you don't want to know how long.”The sound of ‘long’ scared me more than anything. What was the man talking about? “I don't care how long it is—” I interrupted everyone's thoughts. “Myself and Knox will be here.” He nodded, faced the door, and came out of my

KNOXI relaxed on the bed, my eyes shut as I rested from everything that happened the day before. Suddenly, a hand hit me from behind. Or even in front of me. “Open your eyes, Knox. Can't you see?!” At the top of her voice, a woman shouted like never before. Forced to open my eyes, I looked around the space as I tried so hard to read the room so that I could understand what was happening. That was when the voices of wolves—angry wolves filled my ears. “Give Her To Us!” “Can you hear that?” An already crying Sage mouthed. Letting go of me, the woman reached the end of the room before turning back around to look at me—her eyes teary. “I don't know what I'm supposed to do—can't you see they want me given to them?” I still didn't understand because there was so much sleep in my eyes and I didn't know what to do and how to do it. Rather, I was on my feet and reaching the other end of the chamber so that I could pay attention to what was going on but how could I? More sleep filled my

SAGEWhat he was saying didn't make any sense, but I wanted to hear more of it. “What did you say, Knox? And how do you mean?” “Isn't it simple?” He adjusted on the couch but I wondered how I was supposed to know. “You being a Silver Wolf is a good thing for this pack. The members don't see it.” “You're confusing me. I don't understand you.” Again, the Alpha adjusted on the couch. A sigh ran out of his mouth and he let out. “I don't think we should talk about it yet, Sage. Give me some time to process my thoughts. Do you need something?” Why did he act that way? It was my turn to let out a sigh. Even though I wanted to hear the man talk to me about how a Silver Wolf could be of help to him and the Pack, I wished I could not listen to him say it. “Hello, Sage. Did you at least hear me?” I nodded and shook my head. “Forgive me, Alpha Knox. But I heard you. I'm just too overwhelmed by a lot to recall what you said a while ago. Can you remind me?” The man got up. He walked to
