Chapter 47

NATHAN'S POV

I had a daily routine. Every day at the break of dawn, I went for a leisurely walk through the thick forest that surrounded the pack. It was my chance to get away from the pattern of my normal life. The trail quickly became familiar to me, and the trees waved and danced as I passed by. Grace— James and Lily's oldest, eventually started going for walks with me.

As we strolled alongside one another on this specific day, the crisp, pine-scented air engulfed us. The sound of crunching leaves under our feet lulled us into a peaceful rhythm. Like the soft wind rustling the branches overhead, our discussion flowed naturally.

Grace, being the inquisitive teen that she was, was always so full of questions and she didn't feel shy asking them. Today was no different.

She inquired about the building uprising in the pack, curious as to why I seemed so interested by it. I hesitated a moment, considering what to say.
