MRS. DANIELLA JOHNSON'S POV

The ringing of my phone jolted me out of my thoughts. I glanced at the screen and saw the name of Nadia’s mother. Something about the urgency in her tone when I answered unsettled me.

“Daniella, have you seen the latest update online?” she asked, her voice almost trembling with excitement or fear…I couldn’t tell.

“Update? What update?” I asked, suddenly wary.

“I can’t believe you haven’t seen it. Check your social media right now. It’s about Tammie and Richard. You need to see it,” she said hurriedly. Her words sent a cold chill down my spine.

As I ended the call, I turned towards Tammie, who was sitting quietly across the room, and Richard, who had been standing near the window.

My instincts told me that they might already know what this was about. Richard’s gaze met mine briefly before he quickly looked away, confirming my suspicion.

“What is going on?” I muttered to myself, picking up my phone and opening my social media app.

It didn’t take long to find the video. My heart sank as I watched Tammie, my only daughter, telling Richard that she didn’t love him.

The video had gone viral, shared and commented on by thousands. My chest tightened with a mix of anger and disappointment.

“Tammie!” I snapped, unable to contain my frustration.

“What is it, Mom?” she asked, her tone cautious.

I turned my phone towards her so she could see for herself. Her face fell as she peered at the screen.

“Oh my God,” she whispered, placing her hand over her mouth. Her eyes darted toward Richard, whose stoic expression made it clear he had already seen the video.

“You knew about this, didn’t you?” I asked Richard sharply. He said nothing, simply averting his gaze.

“Mom, I swear I didn’t mean for this to happen!” Tammie cried, her voice trembling. “I don’t even know who recorded it!”

I could feel the anger bubbling within me. “You don’t know who recorded it? Do you know how this makes us look, Tammie? It looks like your father and I are trying to force you into this marriage. Do you realize what this could do to our reputation?”

“Mom, please! I didn’t tell anyone to record it. I didn’t even know someone was there!” Tammie pleaded, tears streaming down her face.

Her excuses only fueled my frustration. I couldn’t believe the mess we were in. “You’ve embarrassed this family, Tammie! After everything we’ve done for you, is this how you repay us?” I moved closer to her, my voice rising with each word.

Tammie's Pov

I had never felt more cornered in my life. The video had caught me off guard, but my mother’s anger made it ten times worse.

She was shouting at me, her words cutting deeper than any insult from a stranger ever could.

“Mom, I didn’t mean to me…” I tried to explain, but she wouldn’t listen.

Her frustration boiled over, and for a moment, I thought she was going to hit me. She raised her hand, and I instinctively turned my face, bracing for the slap. But it never came.

When I opened my eyes, Richard was standing between us, holding my mother’s hand mid-air. “Mrs. Johnson, please,” he said softly but firmly. “There’s no need for this.”

“Richard, stay out of this,” she snapped, but he didn’t let go of her hand.

“Maybe someone else recorded it without her knowledge. Let’s not jump to conclusions,” Richard said, his voice calm and composed.

I was grateful for his intervention, but the guilt and embarrassment were overwhelming. “Mom, I didn’t do this on purpose,” I whispered, my voice breaking.

“Then who did? Who thought it was a good idea to film this and put it online?” she demanded, glaring at me.

“I don’t know!” I cried. “I don’t know who did it!”

Mrs. Daniella Johnson's POV

Richard’s attempt to calm the situation only irritated me further.

“Do you understand the damage this could cause?” I said, turning my attention back to Tammie.

“People will think your father and I are forcing you into this marriage. Do you know what that will do to our name? To the empire we’ve built over the years?”

Tammie was sobbing now, but my anger wouldn’t let me stop. “How could you be so careless, Tammie? Do you have any idea what you’ve done?”

“Mrs. Johnson, please,” Richard said again, his voice steady. “This isn’t her fault. Someone else must have recorded it. Let’s focus on finding out who did it instead of blaming her.”

I wanted to argue, but the sincerity in his tone gave me pause. He truly believed she was innocent, and his unwavering defense of her softened my anger…if only slightly.

TAMMIE'S POV

Richard’s words were a small comfort, but the weight of my mother’s disappointment was crushing. I had never seen her this angry, and I felt like a failure.

“I didn’t plan this,” I said between sobs. “I didn’t even know someone was recording us. I swear, Mom.”

Richard wrapped his arms around me, pulling me into a comforting embrace. “It’s okay,” he whispered, patting my back gently. “We’ll figure this out.”

But I wasn’t sure if we could. The damage had already been done.

MRS. DANIELLA JOHNSON'S POV

Seeing Richard console Tammie brought a lump to my throat. As much as I wanted to stay angry, I couldn’t ignore the pain in my daughter’s eyes.

She was crying uncontrollably, and Richard’s support seemed to be the only thing keeping her from breaking down completely.

“I didn’t mean for any of this to happen,” she said again, her voice barely audible.

I sighed, my anger slowly giving way to concern. “Tammie, we need to find out who recorded that video. Until we do, this situation isn’t going to get any better.”

She nodded, still clinging to Richard. I couldn’t tell if she was genuinely sorry or just overwhelmed by the backlash. Either way, we had a long road ahead of us.

The ride home was uneventful, but my mind was a whirlwind. The streets blurred past as I replayed everything…every little detail of Richard’s engagement party, every glance, and the delicious chaos I knew I’d sown. When I got home, I immediately noticed that the living room lights were still on. My mother’s voice carried through the house, firm yet professional. She was on one of her endless commercial calls. I quietly slipped off my shoes, not wanting to disturb her. I sat down on the couch, fiddling with my phone, and waited for her to finish. Minutes felt like hours as I stole glances at her, pacing back and forth with her phone pressed to her ear. Her sharp tone reminded me of why she was so respected in her field. My fingers itched to check my gallery, where I’d saved those photos of Richard and me. I could feel th

(NADIA'S POV) I was in my room, scrolling through my phone, trying to ignore the chaos of my thoughts when I heard the sound of my mother’s heels clicking down the hallway. Instantly, panic set in. My eyes darted to the pile of photographs spread out on my bed…evidence of a life I wasn’t ready to explain. The door creaked open before I could react. “Nadia,” she called, stepping into the room with the grace and authority she always carried. “Why is your door unlocked? Don’t you value privacy?” I fumbled to grab the duvet, my movements quick and desperate as I yanked it over the incriminating pictures. My heart raced as I leaned casually against the bed, trying to look unbothered. “I wasn’t expecting company, Mother,” I said, forcing a smile. She narrowed her eyes, suspicion already brewing. “And what, pray tell, are you hiding under that duvet?” “Hiding?” I repeated, letting out an incredulous laugh. “I’m not hiding anything. Why would I?” She stepped closer, her piercing ga

I stood frozen, unable to process what had just happened. My mother bent down slowly and picked up the photograph closest to her. My stomach twisted in knots as she turned the picture over and studied it, her expression morphing into a mixture of confusion and disbelief. “Nadia,” she said sharply, her eyes narrowing. “What is this?” I swallowed hard, the lump in my throat making it impossible to respond. My mind raced as I realized I needed to do something…anything…to deflect her attention. Without thinking, I forced tears to well up in my eyes. “Mother,” I whispered, letting my voice tremble as I stepped closer to her. My fake tears started to roll down my cheeks, and I let out a small, shaky sob. “Please don’t be upset.” Her face softened slightly, but her suspicion lingered. She held up the picture,

TAMMIE'S POV The hospital room felt suffocating, like the walls were closing in on me. I couldn't stop crying. My chest heaved with every sob as I replayed the harsh accusations thrown at me earlier. How could anyone believe that I, of all people, would stoop so low? So low to get Richard and I to be recorded. I wiped my face with trembling hands, but the tears wouldn't stop. "Mom," I whispered shakily to my mother, Mrs Daniella, who sat beside me. "What if they don’t believe me? What if they..." My words broke off into another wave of sobs. "Tammie," My Mom who was now a little bit calm said, wrapping her arms around me, her voice firm yet trembling. "We know the truth, and we will prove it. You didn’t do anything wrong." But her reassurance couldn’t calm the storm inside me. Before I could respond, the sound of a raspy cough broke through my cries. Her voice trembled ever so slightly, despite her efforts to remain calm. The other nurses worked in tandem, adjusting machines and monitoring his vital signs. MR JACOB POV As I sat across from my wife in our cozy living room, the quiet atmosphere felt almost too still. The dim light from the lamp cast a soft glow across the room. We had just finished dinner, and the day had been long. It wasn’t often we found the time to simply sit and talk like this, but tonight felt different. The house was peaceful, and there was a comfortable silence between us. Suddenly, the silence was broken by the sound of my phone ringing. The shrill noise cut through the calm like a sudden gust of wind. I reached for the phone, glancing at the screen. The caller ID displayed the name "Daniella." I raised an eyebrow. "It’s Daniella," I said to my wife, trying to hide the confusion in my voice. She looked at me with a slight frown, her curiosity piqued. "Daniella? Is she calling about your brother?" I nodded slowly, unsure of what to expect. "Maybe," I said, the words barely escaping my mouth. For some reason, I had a strange feeling about this call. I

MR. JACOB'S POV "Yes, exactly!" she said, her eyes gleaming with a look of triumph. "Now you can get your hands on the contract file with all that money. It’s all coming together." I couldn’t help but grin. It had been a long time coming, and the chance to finally pull this off felt like it was right in front of me. "And how exactly do you expect me to get my hands on it?" I asked, my voice laced with skepticism. Clara stood up from the couch and walked over to me, placing a hand on my shoulder, her fingers gripping tightly. "Don’t worry about that. You just focus on getting it from the office. I’ll handle the details. But after you steal the contract, you’re going to take it to Kenneth, right? You know he’ll sign it without asking questions. He’s weak, Jacob." I looked into her eyes, searching for any hint of hesitation, but there was none. Clara had always been this way, calculating, cold, and completely focused on what she wanted. NADIA'S POV The sunlight filtered through the curtains, warming the room and gently pulling me from my dreams. I groaned, stretching my arms above my head. It was already morning, and my routine had already been set in motion. I quickly glanced at the clock…8:00 AM. Time to start the day. I swung my legs off the bed, feeling the cool floor against my feet as I stood. I made my way to the bathroom, knowing exactly what to do. My routine was second nature by now. I took a quick, refreshing shower, the water helping to clear the grogginess from my mind. My mother had always emphasized the importance of a structured start to the day, and I had adopted it over the years. My mother’s routines were strict and perfect, but I didn’t mind…they helped keep me grounded, especially with everything else going on in my life. Once the shower was over, I wrapped myself in a fluffy towel and walked back into my room. I opened my closet, scanning the clothes that hung neatly in front of me.

I couldn’t exactly answer your call in front of him, could I?"Nadia’s tone softened slightly, but her impatience was still evident. "Fine. But you need to tell me what’s going on. She was crossing the street, and I didn’t see her in time. She’s been recovering, and I felt responsible. That’s why I brought her here…to keep an eye on her.”I stared at him, my expression carefully neutral. “So you hit a woman with your car, and now she’s your responsibility?”“She doesn’t have anyone else,” he said, his voice softer now. “I just...
