DRACO’S POV
Everything that was happening between Helena and the elders was not my business because they were the ones that came in to protest without permission or any discussion. Their childish protest was what soiled my plans of taming and making her submissive while leaving her no choice but to help out her pack with whatever antidote that she brought along.
Thanks to their rashness, they had given her the upper hand and even signed the same request they had come to protest over with their own hands. I couldn’t care less about whatever conclusion they arrive at, but all I know is that Helena would never be able to leave the pack anymore, even though she had come in with her own legs.
I will make sure she begs for death but never find it. She will get to experience what it means to be ridiculed, because that is exactly what I will make her pass through even though she attains the queen’s position. There will never be any queen as useless as her in the history of our pack when I am done with her.
Chief Kinn had steady updates brought in to me about what was going on at the hospital with her and the elders in regards to the treatment of the infected wolves.
“She said that a separation ritual has to be carried out and that her coronation ceremony must be done in the meantime”, Chief Kinn informed me. “When will the process be completed? I mean how many days will it take for the separation ritual process to get completed?” was my next question and she answered that it would take up to five days.
I scoffed and smirked as I realized that she had gotten them into a trap earlier. They all thought the antidote was something that would be administered immediately and everything would be okay so they could push her out of the pack by force, but she was wise enough not to spill the process involved until the right time.
She might be my biggest enemy for now, but one thing I knew and liked about Helena was how strategic she was. Back then, before the unfortunate incident happened, she was always very intelligent and wouldn’t show her cards to anyone except it would favor her.
That attribute was one of the things that made me love her and I was confident that she would be a good Luna who would help me decide matters in the pack when we eventually get married, but now, even if she becomes the Luna, I can never allow her to interfere with the pack's affairs.
She wanted to be the Luna so badly and I will make it happen, but she will just be a figurehead. The things I have in mind to make her experience would make her choose death over the position she had longed for so hard, she will feel the emptiness of that throne she had the audacity to covet as the traitor’s daughter.
Just the thought of her trying to take charge of my subordinates was infuriating. I didn’t know when I threw the teacup in my hand at the wall and it shattered into a million pieces due to the force.
“How dare you prove to be smart? You shameless bitch”, I growled angrily, but Chief Kinn was not moved a bit, she was used to me getting angry and growling all the time since she was the one that raised me.
I decided to leave her issue for now and attend to the other pending requests that got piled up while I was away thanks to the Beta who marched in to nag me about them.
“The east country wants us to send a hearing date over, we have to give them an answer before we give the intuition that we are nonchalant unintentionally”. Beta Gray reported as soon as he was let into my chambers and I sighed.
There was never a day of rest for me ever since I became the Alpha. I had to finish the businesses my father left midway before his murder and they were all taking a toll on me. I was wondering how he was able to stay in his position while also making out time to be a good husband and father.
The elders have been on my neck for months after my ascension ceremony was held. They kept nagging me about picking a mate so I could strengthen the pack. They went on about how I was the only Alpha without a mate in the history of the pack and I started to search for a new mate out of frustration.
I hosted a mate search party where everyone looking for mates was invited and someone sparked my interest. To be honest, I didn’t feel any mate bond but I just got attracted to her and Alfred also declared that he was satisfied with my choice. Although, as a werewolf, it is always best to go with the one you are sharing a mate bond with, since Helena turned to be a wicked mate, I rejected her before she was thrown out of the pack and when the push from the elders was getting constant, I settled on choosing my mate based on my own feelings and Alfred, my wolf supported without hesitation.
I was surprised at how fast he agreed on my decision because he was always nitpicking about making sure that any decision I wanted to take is safe enough. He didn’t hesitate to protect me and fight to the last breath, but he made emphasis about how it was important to stay out of trouble instead of always fighting one’s way out.
“The east country should pick a date instead and let me know whatever date they have in mind, then I will clear my schedule to accommodate their conditions” I responded and Beta Gray didn’t say any word to counter me.
He only agreed with a bow and went out of the chambers, to my surprise, because Gray was someone who, although he is quiet, loves to play a safe game and has the upper hand. He and my wolf have a better understanding and synergy than I and him because there were many times we would disagree more than agree.

Helena came back to the pack later that evening and Chief Kinn came to ask if she should proceed with the preparations for the coronation, since the elders had already approved it and I gave her the go ahead.
Everything had been ready in just two days since I instructed, that I didn’t want any elaborate events and there should be no meals prepared to mark the day. It was another way to make her lose face with the servants. No one would acknowledge Luna, who couldn’t even provide her people with a celebration meal on such a big day.
All that was happening was enjoyable for me and I wanted to see what her reactions would be when she realized the extent to which I was trying to go for her to get dragged through the mud. No one will ever put respect to her name, identity or the position she’s occupying, because I will personally be the one to bring about the disrespect towards her.
Just a few hours before the ceremony, a letter came in from the east country about the picked date for the hearing and it fell on the same date as the ceremony.
“What will you do? It’s not like you can ditch your wedding ceremony?” Beta Gray threw at me and, without hesitation, I told him to fix the meeting as it is.
“You seem to be forgetting something. I am not interested in all this that is happening because I will never accept that bitch as my own mate! If there is a more pressing matter, then I have to attend to that first”, I gritted without remorse, making the poor Beta frustrated.
“But…” he tried persuading me, but I stopped him from talking.
“Don’t bother to convince me, it is better you let her know now that she will be getting married to an empty seat so she can prepare her mind”, I declare before sending the Beta off and went in to rest for the journey ahead of me the next day.

Chief Kinn was dressing me up for my departure to the east country when Beta Gray suddenly barged in. “If you are here to talk me out of leaving for the east country, then do not bother”, I declared, but he told me that was not the reason he was in my chambers.
“The envoy from the east country is here, with the king himself”, Beta Gray announced to my surprise, and I turned to ask what he meant by that.
“He said he got the news that today was your wedding, so he came to congratulate you and also finalize the decision when the event is over” Beta Gray informed me.
I didn’t know how to process the news, another plan of mine to humiliate Helena was soiled once again and it was making me furious.
“It seems you will have to put on your robe now” Chief Kinn muttered, a little bit of joy evident in her voice as she snapped her fingers for the maids to bring in the wedding robe.
Draco would surely be so furious about this ha ha
HELENA’S POV Thanks to the intense gossip of the maids, I was able to hear that Draco instructed Chief Kinn not to make any preparations for meals, drinks or party fun for her wedding and coronation. Even with the absurdity of the command, I was not fazed because I knew all he was planning to do and it was something I had prepared for beforehand. “Draco! You are playing exactly as I had imagined it and this is getting interesting. I wonder what your reaction will be on the said day” I mumbled to myself as I walked past the maids after extracting all the information I needed. Later that evening, Chief Kinn came around to take my measurements of my dress and also informed me of the day it would be taking place. A snort escaped my mouth as I remembered the faces of the elders who were obviously pained when I demanded that the coronation be held before the separation ritual took place. “I can’t get the shocked faces of the old hags off my mind, they were so stunned back then when they
The elders met again to discuss if it was really advisable to crown Helena as the Luna of the pack, considering the history her and her family had with the pack and, just as expected, they had split opinions about the issue. “No matter how I think about it, it is just not that, because how can we let the daughter of such a brutal and heinous criminal take over an important seat in the pack? Why are we all being submitted to her beck and call?” The Elder of the seventh tribe expressed his anger and two other elders immediately agreed with him. “It’s a very ridiculous and disrespectful move” The elder of the eighth tribe supported, but the elder of the ninth tribe rose up to counter them. “Even if it is crazy and somehow, do we have a choice? Are we doing this because we also enjoy it? No! This is just us being put in a tight corner because the people of the pack come first!” he lashed out. “Ever since she administered whatever she did to them, they have all been calm and sleeping pea
HELENA’S POVWhile waiting for Draco to appear at the meeting room, I discussed with King of the east country about the hostages who were captured for mistreating the people at his country and he told me about how they almost killed their people so I had a hint about what was happening between the two kings.“They must have been edgy and oversensitive due to the tension in the pack. It has come to my attention that some wolves are trying to flee the pack by all means because of what is happening and the pack’s soldiers are not making it easy for them. If captured, they are locked up so they must have felt those people were trying to capture them at the orders of the pack’s soldiers” I explained with a solemn voice while trying to give a valid reason why something like that might have happened and it worked! The King went on to tell me about how they pleaded when they were questioned and the only line they kept repeating was “Please spare us, do not send us back to the pack” and he was
Amy arrived back at the pack during the wedding after being away for close to two weeks on an official assignment she was sent on by her grandfather. She was told that her grandfather, Elder Conri, was at the palace and she went to meet with him but found out that the Alpha was getting married to someone strange. “What is going on here?” she questioned her aide as they entered the palace and saw what was going on and the aide quickly replied that the Alpha was getting married to his former mate. “She must have been the wench he talked about” she muttered before moving to her seat where she also witnessed the wedding take place. One thing surprised her and that was all the dignitaries that came to grace her occasion. She was not sure why there were so many of them there and how they were related to her, but it was quite impressive that a traitor’s daughter had gained that much influence in the cause of two years. She spat out a solemn “She’s pretty, I admit” as she folded her hands
The elders were disturbed by what had happened at the wedding and knew that with the way those kings and Alphas turned up for Helena’s wedding and coronation ceremony, their chances of being able to impeach her without it backfiring has dropped to the bottom line. “How did she gather such personalities in just a span of two years that she was sent out of the pack? This is terrifying” the elder of the ninth tribe remarked, as he paced up and down in the meeting room. The elder of the seventh tribe didn’t hesitate to support the claim, he was also surprised about how she was able to influence such great people. “This is now beyond our control, I am not sure even the Alpha would be able to do anything like dethroning her at this point. I am very sure she had all these planned before coming here to make all these outrageous demands” he declared and others supported by either hitting the table or clapping their palms. “If we don’t act fast, I am afraid she will only become more rooted as
HELENA’S POV I marched to the reception room where the elder of the fourth tribe was waiting for me. I was prepared to give her the maximum problem if she comes with the mindset that half of the problems they have with me has been solved since they are done with the preparation for the separation ritual. Immediately I opened the door to the room, she stood up and bowed her head with her hands placed under her abdomen in respect which amazed me because that was the way of showing respect to the royals. I was not expecting any respect from the elders since they are all so bent on making my life a living hell before even impeaching me. “You are welcome, my Queen” she greeted, her head bowed to the lowest to show the grey hair split apart at the center of her head. Even though the greeting was uncomfortable, I was still entitled to it so I didn’t feel burdened that much for a long time. I returned her greetings and went to my seat so we could discuss the details of the rituals. “I hav
The next morning, Helena woke up with so much relief on her side where she was hurt and went straight to where her son, Jerry, was sleeping with Secretary Han. She had offered to help her pet him to sleep so she could relieve all the stresses she had passed through in the past few days. Since she had always been Jerry’s closest friend, he didn’t have any issues being comfortable with her and also sleeping soundly by her side. Helena bent a little forward, while being careful not to lean on broken ribs as she stroked the soft cheeks of her beautiful baby who only flinched at her touch before continuing his sweet sleep. “You are so cute, even when you are deep asleep and that is why you are my baby” she muttered, adoration filling her eyes as she stared continuously at him before Secretary Han spoke up. Secretary Han rolled to the side, creating a space for her on the bed with her eyes half opened, “Should I get off so you can sleep by his side? You must have missed him all through th
HELENA’S POV Throughout the day, I kept thinking about why Amy was in Draco’s bed, even though I didn’t make it obvious. She was laughing at me when I came because she had the upper hand in having his heart, I guess, but I found it more annoying than I thought I would. It’s not that I want Draco, but the thought of Amy being a nuisance to me just because she had crawled into his bed was infuriating. “Gosh! She’s annoying with her entire being” I muttered, pausing to puff out the air in my tensed lungs. Secretary Han went out to prepare for the ritual with the elders of the fourth tribe in order to monitor any strange activities they might have had in mind. Evening came and I was taken out of the palace to the clinic yard where the separation ritual would be taking place. The leader of the fourth tribe was already in her ritual robe, all her subordinates were also dressed and placed in their right positions. White ribbons and clothes were wrapped around the four corners of the yard
The fight at the border had been quite fierce due to several intruders trying to sneak into the pack because of the pack flourishing. “We just rounded up some spies we caught trying to enter the pack. They are now in the back quarters”. One of the soldiers rushed to update Prince Klaux who was just coming back from another mission. With a tired sigh, he gulped down a bottle of water and signaled to his assistant. “Let’s go and check them out. This is really getting out of hand” he said, and left with the soldier. The spies were interrogated and they confessed that they were on a mission to find out the manufacturing process of the cures that were being developed at the pack’s research lab. “Which pack sent you?” he questioned “The bluemoon pack”, one of the spies responded. “I hear of new packs every day” he groaned as his hands found their way to his waist. He turned to his assistant and scratched his head for a while, “Feed them, give them a place to sleep and send them on the
Prince Klaux had been frequently visiting Han ever since she had been on the sick bed, even though he didn’t exactly know the reason why. “You always find yourself here. You both didn’t have anything going on while she was still fine though”, Vincent once said to him, and he smiled a bit. “I know right, we never had anything going on. I guess I just missed seeing her standing by cutie’s side. No one to bicker and argue with, it feels weird” he responded, and Vincent chuckled. “You really need to think about it further. Something might be kicking in”, Vincent remarked, and he denied it vehemently. “What do you mean kicking in? You are just blabbering nonsense” he muttered, but Vincent only patted his shoulder before leaving him. That very day, he came by after leaving the proposal party. He came to check up on her since it had been a while due to the fact that he was away from the palace. “You seem to be doing well over there, seeing you don’t want to come back here anymore. I gue
The priestess treated Jerry and told her that she would have to hope that the moon goddess would have mercy and grant him another spirit wolf in the nearest future because nothing could be done anymore, since the spirit wolf was killed after being torn away from him. For days, Helena couldn’t digest the news. She couldn’t eat, move or do anything. Nothing made her happy no matter what anyone did. She couldn’t rid herself of the guilt that her son had to face such a terrible fate because she was not there to protect her son, thanks to her obsession with the cure. She lost interest in everything and was ready to give it up. Alpha Draco gave orders for Elder Damon to be executed publicly and his family were turned into slaves, Amy’s entire tribe was banned and a letter was sent to every pack not to accommodate them with the notification of their crimes. Ava was hanged as an accomplice to the crime and her family were sent out of the pack. Both Helena and Vincent got healed from the vir
HELENA’S POV I played all day with Jerry who was now very big. He was growing so well that I felt bad not involved lately in his growing process but I needed to find the cure in order to be by his side. I came back from his quarters and went down straight to the lab where I found out that Vincent had injected himself with the cure we recently developed. “Why would you do that? Who would attend to me?” I lashed out at him and Han gave me his note “It is brutal to keep watching you battle with the pain of the cure every time. Let’s share the pain together this time around” was what was written in the note Han said to me, “You don’t need to be afraid, I will be the attending doctor” and I nodded. I trusted her enough after all I was given the shot and placed under observation. It didn’t take up to three minutes before I fell asleep but I felt my furs sprout and my claws coming out before I lost consciousness. The next thing I woke up to was everyone fighting and running for their liv
Draco was coming back from where he went to deliver flowers as usual to Helena but he was not let in on her orders. That didn’t annoy him nonetheless, he only wanted to keep trying till she would open up to her. He was passing by the kitchen when he witnessed the sight where Amy was trying to pick on Chief Kinn, even to the extent of slapping her. He paused at the door to take a look around from one maid to the other before he started entering the kitchen till he got to Amy. “What do you think you are doing right now?” he growled at her and everywhere shook. He was so livid at the sight in front of him and the bitterness he had for Amy added fuel to the fire. “I was only trying to teach her some lessons, why is that a problem?” Amy countered, not backing down easily “Are you asking me if that is a problem right now? Can you listen to yourself?” he growled hard and rushed towards her in anger. She shuddered at the sight of his anger, she had never seen him that way. His furs sprou
The sending of several types of flowers from Alpha Draco continued day and night but I couldn’t bring myself to send him any response even though I loved the flowers. I didn’t want to give him any false hope, fall in love with him and disappear like the passing wind when death comes. It was better how we were neither enemies nor friends. “I only have to fulfil my purpose. Any other thing should not be attached. He should just focus on being the best father for our son” I stated when Han was trying to convince me to spend the little time I have with him instead of avoiding him “You might come to regret this when it’s extremely too late. It is best you enjoy everything you can now” Han insisted but I just tucked myself under the blanket and faced the other side. I couldn’t stop crying at the fact that I wouldn’t be able to stay by Draco’s side after we cleared the misunderstanding. I wouldn’t lie, I still loved him dearly. We were both torn by the greedy adults but we managed to pull
B Beta Gray was surely stunned at my reaction as I rushed towards him and jumped in his hand. He wasn’t expecting it but then he couldn’t allow me to fall so he had to catch me so fast. “Uh.. Uhmm.. You didn’t.. uhm have to.. uhm” he kept stammering and Alpha Draco came to his aid. “She didn’t have to hug you, right? I support that fully” Alpha Draco commented with a fake frown, and we all laughed at his remark. “So you managed to retrieve this from Elder Damon’s house? It’s well written and decoded”, Vincent stated as he flipped through the book. “Yes, the man with the scar has been captured too. He’s the closest aide to Elder Damon. He’s in custody at the prison”. Beta Gray chipped in with a bragging right and Vincent smiled. “He should also have the taste of what being locked up against your will looks like. I hope he rots in there”, Vincent remarked coldly before raising the book. “Since what we need is here, we should get to work as soon as possible” he added, and I agreed
HELENA’S POV Everyone was happy that I was finally awake after a long week and the Alpha instructed the kitchen to throw me a mini-feast. “Whatever she wants should be cooked for her with immediate effect. Nothing should be left undone for her, take care of all her orders with optimum care and swiftness”, he ordered, and the maids had no choice but to agree with him. “Why are you putting so much pressure on them? It’s not like I can eat more than my stomach”, I argued, but he shook his head. “You deserve everything” he declared, and I gave him a suspicious side eye. “What do you mean by that line? You are being cheesy for no reason”, I attacked, and the Alpha sighed in frustration. He moved closer to where I was attending to the flowers by the window and let out a small cough. “Helena, are you still going to continue this way? Don’t you think it’s high time I was forgiven?” he carefully asked, and my hands paused. I turned to look at him and dropped the napkin in my hand. “Dra
I finally opened my eyes after being unconscious for two days and I saw Vincent studying hard at the table close to the window at the far end of the room. I groaned slightly as I tried rolling to the side in order to stand up, but no matter how I tried, it was an impossible task. “Are you finally awake? Don’t try hard to stand up, you can never stand up for now”, Vincent cautioned and started to walk towards me when he heard my groans “Why can’t I stand up?” I questioned, losing the fight against standing up and lying there. “The treatment I placed you on is so strong that it won’t wear off for the next three days. I know that you will never rest if I tell you ordinarily, so I have to place you in absolute rest against your will and I am not sorry to take that decision”, he said boldly, and I just smiled. I knew Vincent to be stubborn and strict, so it was not surprising to see him act that way. We are both stubborn and determined, it was obvious that I wouldn’t allow that if I wer
