Dealing with the shame
Aria’s pov I left the dining room with a heavy heart. This is not the first time it is happening but this one hit harder. I pushed it back of my mind as I had to leave for work in the flower shop. I got ready and was about to leave, when my sister popped up in my room. “Are you still going to work?” She asked vindictively “Hmm, ya. I get paid to work” i said to her and was about to walk out “You really think you are better than everyone else, don’t you?” She glared at me “No I don’t, Diamond. I just want to get to work” I answered her, trying to pass but once again she blocked my path. “I’m glad Alpha Kael knocked you off your high horse. It was entertaining to see” she chuckled “I’m glad you were entertained. Now if you would excuse me, I would be late for work” I pushed her aside and walked out of the house speedily to avoid any interactions. My house was a little far from the town, so I had to walk for 20 minutes everyday to get to work as I couldn’t afford the transportation to the town. Silver claw pack has been successful under the guidance of Kael, he did everything possible to put us in a comfortable state. I always had dreams of ruling by his side but now that dream was crushed under the heavy boots of fate. I walked quickly into town just so I couldn't be late. Immediately I got to the outskirts of the town, I felt like all eyes were on me. The news about the rejected mate has spread across like wide fire. People look on, some with pity and others with deceit. I pushed through and kept walking to my place of work. I finally got to the flower shop, I brought out the key and opened it up. I began to set things in order, dusting and watering the plants. Every now and then customers would pop into the store to get something but would bluntly refuse to attend to them or they would mock me and call me names. I took every insult and every rejection with a smile on my face. Even when I was on the verge of a breakdown. I couldn’t wait for my shift to be over. After a long shift, I finally clocked out. I went to the nearby cafe to get what to eat and then make my way to the training grounds. I bought a large coffee and some donuts, which I ate to stop the pangs of hunger from growing wider. I saw the stares, the whispers but I ignored it and walked away. In the training area, people were in clicks but I was always a lone wolf. I did not mind it but people began to take it for arrogance. I stood up and began some exercises to pass time as our training supervisor is not yet with us. Two girls passed by and i overheard them talking “Did you hear? Alpha Kael is going to make Selene the beta’s daughter the new Luna” the first girl says “Serious, how did you know that?” Theo other girl asked “My dad is a chamber chief remember and I heard him telling my mum” she replied “I’m so happy for selene, she is so kind and good unlike some people who think they are better than everybody” she said while throwing me a side eye. I ignored them and continued with my training. The training supervisor walked in immediately “ wolves pair up! It’s a one on one combat for today” sergeant Kelvin screams as he blows his whistle to get started People paired up and I turned around to look for someone to pair with. Lily, the meanest girl in the class, walked up to me. “ Looking for a partner?” She asked with a smile. “Hm no thank you” I tried to decline “Oh so you think you are too good for me?” She asked with her arms folded “No I don’t, Lily” I said to her “Who is going first” sergeant Kelvin asked “We would go first sir!” Lily answered “Lily, Aria take the stage. 10 minutes for the combat, first to knock the other out wins” he said and we took our position in the circle. We positioned ourselves in the middle of the circle, people gathered around forming a circle. The fight began, Lily launched at me with speed. I managed to dodged the attack and pulled back “Come everyone let’s see the Luna fight” she says as she throws another attack at me again. I was fast but not fast enough, she kicked me in my abdomen which sent me flying backwards. “You are weak, I’m glad you were rejected. Sliver law doesn’t need a clown as a Luna” she says as she walks towards me. I got up, trying to resist defeat “I’m guessing you still need more beating for you to surrender” she says to me. I spat out blood and looked at her. “I don’t give up easily” i said to her and ran towards her but she was ready for me, she avoided the hit I threw and in turn kicked me in the back, making me lay face flat on the floor. She walked over to me, putting her leg over my head as she presses my face deep down into the dirty, “give up, you are no match for me” she said I struggle to get her off but the more I do the more she presses hard. I was beginning to feel suffocated, then twice on the ground to indicate that I gave up. She did not stop until Kelvin shouted “Lily, get off her now!” He reprimanded her, she removed her legs and I got up trying to catch my breath “Behold your Luna everyone” she said and the training field was full of laughter, my face covered with dirt, people pointing and mocking me. I got up and ran out of the field, my eyes filled with tears. I let them flow as it was long overdue.Shattered Dreams and Broken SpiritAria's povI ran as fast as my legs could carry me, tears streaming down my face. I couldn't take it anymore - the constant mocking, the rejection, the feeling of being worthless. I felt like I was drowning in a sea of despair, with no lifeline in sight.I ran into the forest, straight to the only place that did not make me feel like an outcast ‘the lake’. I wept at the shores of the lake for the longest time till I was too weak to shed any more tears. I fell asleep by the shore, embracing the peace the calm water brought.Laying there for God knows how long, I woke up to rustling of leaves. I became on high alert as rogues are known to roam this part of the forest. I listened carefully and could hear the footsteps. I tried to gather how many there were but I could only pick up one heartbeat.“Who’s there?” I asked into the dark forest, “come out before I get you out myself” I threatened.Nobody came out, I immediately brought forth vixen. AcceptanceAria's povThe second I ran out of the hall, the sector blurred around me. My breath came in ragged gasps, each one more labored than the last. My heart pounded violently in my chest, from both exertion and searing pain. Every step felt like a battle, every inhale a struggle. The mate bond had snapped, and it felt like my very soul had been ripped aside. The bond that once tethered me to Alpha Kael had been severed, leaving me raw and broken.I stumbled blindly through the forest , my body shaking with sobs.“How could he do this to me? How could they do this to me? My sister—my own flesh and blood—had been selected as his Luna, at the same time as I had been rejected and humiliated in front of the complete pack. The bitterness from my heart tasted bitter on my tongue, and my mind spiraled with resentment. For so long, I had tolerated being treated as lesser, even though I didn't deserve it. But now, the accumulated weight of rejection, betrayal, and endless torment crushed
Aria’s POVThe forest seemed darker now, as though it knew the weight of the decision I had just made. The trees loomed over me like silent witnesses, their twisted branches clawing at the moonlit sky. The chill in the air seeped into my bones, but I welcomed it—it was far less cruel than the icy betrayal that had brought me here.Darius walked beside me, his movements confident yet predatory. He didn’t say much as we navigated the winding path through the forest, but I could feel his presence like a storm gathering on the horizon. There was power in him, dark and untamed, and I couldn’t help but wonder if I had just made a deal with the devil.“Where are we going?” I finally asked, my voice cutting through the stillness.“To a place where you’ll learn to become who you were always meant to be,” he replied cryptically. His tone was calm, but there was an edge to it that made my wolf, Vixen, bristle.I bit back a retort and kept walking, my mind racing with questions I wasn’t ready to
Diamond’s POVThis was my dream, my accomplishment! I had managed to beat my sister to the position I had always wanted. As I walked gently through the palace which I was brought for a tour. I could not be happier than I am.“Well, well, if it is not a man hunting female.”I turned to see who it was and standing next to me was Selene and the princess of the pack, Ellen standing before me.I gave a huge smile, “Your highness….” I bowed, trying to pay my respect to her but she glared at me.“What are you doing here?” She asked me“Oh….Kael, my mate, asked me to come over and get familiar with the environment as the mating rites would be in the next full moon which is….next three days.” I responded to her and she had a scowl.“I see…..”“Princess Ellen, it would be lovely to get to know you more, since we would be living together, even if my rank would be higher than yours,” I said to her with a huge grin. She tried to hit me but she was held back by Selene.“Woah, you are very feisty.”
The Unwanted BondAria’s povI stood at the edge of the clearing, my heart racing with anticipation. The sounds of the pack surrounded me - excited whispers, restless wolves, and the crackling bonfire that illuminated the darkening sky. It was the night of the Mating Ceremony, and the air was electric with expectation. Wolves of all ranks had gathered to see who would find their fated mate tonight. I was torn between fleeing and standing frozen in place, unsure of what the night held.I clenched my fists, trying to hide my nerves. I told myself it was ridiculous; I'd been to Mating Ceremonies before and nothing had ever happened. My wolf hadn't felt the strong pull that signaled finding a mate. Yet, a small, fragile part of me hoped that tonight would be different. My gaze drifted to the center of the clearing where Kael Blackwood, the Alpha of the Silverclaw Pack, stood tall and fierce. He radiated authority, his wide shoulders and proud stance making it clear that he turned into eve
My FateAria’s povWalking back home with mixed emotions, anger, hate and sadness. All filled up inside me, I needed a way to get out these emotions.“Let’s go for a run” my wolf vixen says, I nodded in agreement. I stepped back and let my wolf take over. Vixen is not a very big wolf, she was all white which was not a usual color. My mum and dad made sure to make me hide it, because we don’t want people to think otherwise.Vixen ran through the forest, deep down to the border, passed it and went to a lake. We laid by the lake, as the calm waters whispered to us. I transformed back, while Vixen retreated to the back of my mind, sad and feeling rejected.“Why did the moon goddess let this happen?” I asked, looking up to the sky.People always talk about how amazing and how good it felt to get a mate. How the bond was the best thing to happen to werefolks but here I am being cast aside like trash with no meaning. I stayed in the lake till the middle of the night, nobody came looking fo
