*JORDYN’S POV*

I stepped into the room, where Amelia lay still, her eyes closed. Seeing her like this, so vulnerable, stirred something inside me, even after everything that had happened between us. She was carrying my child, and no matter what, I had to make sure she and the baby were safe.

“Amelia,” I said quietly, standing at her bedside. She stirred, her eyes fluttering open.

“Jordyn?” Her voice was weak, barely above a whisper. “What…what happened?”

“You collapsed,” I explained, keeping my voice gentle. “You’re in the hospital. The doctors said you’ve been under too much stress.”

She blinked as if processing the information. “The baby…is the baby okay?”

“The baby’s fine,” I reassured her, my hand hovering over hers but not quite touching. “But the doctors say you need to take it easy from now on. No stress, no pressure.”
