12: THE LUNA’S BALL

Jessica had no idea how she made it to the ball, but she managed to get there in one piece. Without even thinking about the child in her tummy, she grabbed a cup and loaded it with rum punch. She gulped it down and then threw the plastic cup to the ground.

Nobody seemed to notice her even when she wore such muddied clothes. They were all grouped according to their ranks. The alphas and betas gathered in one corner, while the zetas and gammas positioned themselves in the center. The omegas were just there by the sideline looking like fish out of water.

Jessica spotted the twins clinging to a very tall alpha's arms. He carried them toward the door that leads to the backyard. Jessica knew what they were sneaking off to do.

The alpha and Luna were sitting on their high chairs, watching their guests with smirks on their faces. The ball appeared to be successful. When Jessica noticed Cory coming in with the blonde she-wolf, she couldn't help but roll her eyes.
