LUCY'S POV

I wasn't originally a vampire, I was a shapeshifter. Most of the recent generation are not aware of their existence, well maybe because, it was wiped into extinction.

This happened so many centuries ago when man was as powerful as a werewolf. They were not having any supernatural powers but they were strong and could kill a werewolf if in a battle with one.

They were deadly and they hate every other part of the supernatural especially the shapeshifters, because we are the weakest of all.

We have no other power but just the ability to shapeshift, they were our bullies and because we want peace and don't want to be killed, we allowed it.

I was the daughter of the head of shapeshifters and I was spoilt recklessly, being given everything I wanted, if I just ask. I lived the life of a princess and had a lot of girls jealous.

I also had most of the guys fawning over me and then I just turned 20 so my mom was okay with me dating a boy, as long I present the boy to them first. I wa

DAMIAN'S POVArriving at the estate with Leah just feels unreal, I couldn't stop looking at her as I held her in my arms. When we got to my house, I gently helped her leave the car and led her to her room. Before our arrival, I already made plans to increase the security around the estate, especially my house. Leah's room has been equipped with everything needed to make life better for her and also make it easier for the doctor to take care of her.We got her into her room and Nana was already waiting, I passed her into her care and waited while she took care of her. Leah was bathed, dressed, and led to her bed but unlike the previous times, she didn't fuss about it.The doctor finally arrived and went into her room to begin her check-up, I watched him check her eyes, did some flexing of the body, pulled some instruments I don't know the name of, and used them on her. When he was done, he focused on the stomach and started a scan of the baby. After he was finished, he pulled off his g

DAMIAN'S POVMy eyes moved back to the doctor, my mind still struggling to process the words. Fifty-fifty chance. Leah might die. During delivery. The twins. My blessings, her curse. I felt like I had been punched in the gut, my breath knocked out of me. Still couldn't speak, couldn't think. All I could do was stare at the doctor, willing him to take back his words. But the doctor just sat there, his expression sympathetic but firm. I finally found my voice, my words tumbling out in a rush."What are we going to do? There has to be a solution. Something we can do to...to save her. To save them."The doctor's expression turned grave. "Apart from abortion, which is no longer an option at this stage, I'm afraid there's little we can do right now. But I'll keep monitoring the situation, and we'll do everything we can to ensure the best possible outcome."I felt a cold dread creeping up my spine. "You're saying I might have to choose between my wife and my children."The doctor's eyes we

DAMIAN'S POVI walked into my office with Clinton, my mind still reeling from the doctor's warning and the news I was just getting. Why now? Why now of all time? The very moment I am faced with a challenge, life hits me with another one.I am getting pissed off with the whole situation, pissed off at the doctor, pissed off at Clinton, and especially pissed off at Delilah for choosing such a time to be an annoying bitch to the world. My office phone rang, shrill in the silence. I knew it was Vincent immediately and so I picked up, trying to sound calm. "Vincent, what's up?""Have you seen the news yet?" Vincent's voice was tight with urgency."No, I haven't. What happened?" I asked, my gut already twisting with foreboding."Just watch the news first, and then we'll talk," Vincent said, his tone grim.I grabbed the remote and switched on the television. The news anchors' faces were somber, their voices serious."...and reports are coming in of creatures attacking humans in the city of H

Delilah's POVWe attacked again, but this time it was different. The first attack was minimal, just a warning shot to send a message. We deliberately expose ourselves, make them know that there is a new creature, knowing the cameras would capture our actions and everything. We wanted to shake the news and make the government realize there was a real threat they needed to take seriously.I remember that moment vividly when I bit someone, a human. It was a primal act, fueled by desperation. But then, two days later, something unexpected happened. In a place that only we knew, a location hidden from the world, the very person I had bitten showed up. It was shocking; "how could he have found us?" I kept on asking myself, but I couldn't find the answer. The air was thick with tension as I processed the implications of his arrival. What did he want? Did he come seeking revenge, but he came alone, so it can't be revenge, or could it be that there is something more to the visit? And that wa

Damian's POVThe day we had set for the meeting had finally arrived. Vincent, and Cyril, sat beside Hade and me.But this meeting did not happen in the orders meeting hall at all; it was Vincent who suggested this location. I crossed my arms, glancing around the unfamiliar surroundings, my instincts on high alert. Of course, I didn't want the meeting to take place in my house. My home was my sanctuary, a private space, and I certainly didn't trust Hade. The thought of him stepping over the threshold made my skin crawl. I needed to keep my guard up, aware that in this world of power plays and hidden agendas, vulnerability could lead to disaster.Everyone was already there, the air was thick with anticipation. I exchanged a few pleasantries, though my heart was not in it; I had no intention of wasting time on small talk. I planned to dive straight into the meeting. After the brief exchanges, I stood up, my voice steady but urgent. "The reason I called for this meeting is because of wh

Damian's POVThey attacked us, and chaos erupted around us as we sprang into action, adrenaline pumping through our veins. Hade, Cyril, and I, alongside a handful of guards, surged forward, the air thick with tension. Some werewolves joined the fray, their growls mingling with the clash of steel and the shouts of my men. Clinton was right there with us, his face set in grim determination as we faced off against Delilah's forces. As I fought, my eyes darted around, desperately searching for Delilah among the throng of strange creatures that swarmed us. The battle was fierce; I could feel the weight of every swing of my punch, the satisfaction of striking down my foes. Yet, despite my efforts, the numbers felt overwhelming. I took down one creature after another, but more kept pouring in, relentless and unyielding. Doubt began to creep in as I realized I hadn't killed nearly enough. So we kept fighting and fighting, but it felt like we weren't making any real progress against the tide

Damian's POVAs we dashed across the road, the air was thick with tension, and our hearts raced in sync with our hurried steps. Suddenly, a chilling howl pierced the air, sending shivers down my spine. “Hurry!” I shouted, urgency lacing my voice as we ran towards the dense bush ahead. The leaves rustled violently as we plunged into the underbrush, adrenaline coursing through my veins. I halted for a brief moment, inhaling deeply. The unmistakable scent of the creatures filled my nostrils. My instincts kicked in, and I quickly raised my hand, signaling the others to stop. Their eyes widened in fear and understanding; they sensed it too. “Listen!” I whispered fiercely, my voice barely above a breath. The rustling grew louder, and shadows shifted ominously in the foliage. We needed to move, and fast. I gestured for them. The air was electric with tension. And before I knew it, the creatures emerged from the shadows, their eyes glowing with an otherworldly hunger. This time, they weren'

Damian's POVAs I saw the blood, a surge of fear coursed through me, paralyzing my thoughts. I didn't know what to do, or even say at that moment; dread clawed at my insides. What if something terrible had already happened to her? Maybe they had hurt her, or worse, maybe she had been killed. Those horrifying possibilities looped endlessly in my mind.I bent down to examine the blood splashes more closely. The scent filled my nostrils. Just as I was about to lose myself in despair, something caught my eye, a figure huddled near the other side of the bed. I raised my head, my breath hitching in my throat to see who it was, and there she was. It was Nana. What was she doing here? Was she okay? The questions swirled in my mind as I rushed to her side.Nana was still coughing up blood, each heave of her chest sending a fresh wave of panic through me. She struggled for breath, her face pale and contorted in pain. I wrapped my arms around her in a desperate attempt to provide some comfort.

LEAH'S POVSix months had passed. A lot had changed, and yet, some things remained the same. Life had found its way back into a semblance of balance. The house Delilah had destroyed, the one that had once been my sanctuary, had been rebuilt. Stronger. More beautiful. Every corner of it now seemed to hold new memories, new beginnings. The order that had been disrupted, the chaos that had once engulfed us, was now settling into a rhythm. Things were finally coming together.Damian had come so far in his healing, both physically and emotionally. Each day, I saw him growing stronger, more like the man he was before the war, before everything. He had taken on the responsibility of being the head of the hybrids, and with that came a weight that I knew he carried heavily. But he bore it with grace. His training had become more intense, more focused. I could see the fire in his eyes, the determination to protect our family, to protect everything we had worked so hard for.And the way, he

I blinked slowly, my vision swimming as I tried to make sense of my surroundings. White walls. The steady beeping of machines. A faint antiseptic smell. Where was I?My mind felt clouded like a thick fog had settled over it, obscuring everything I needed to grasp. Panic threatened to rise, but before I could gather my thoughts, I heard hurried footsteps. The sound grew louder, then closer—someone was running toward me.Before I could react, a body collided with mine with force, wrapping me in a tight, trembling embrace. "Your children's blood," he began slowly, his tone deliberate, "it might be the only way to save Damian. Their blood has unique properties that could help them heal. They are hybrids, the only ones of their kind. It's uncharted territory, but—""No." my voice was sharp, slicing through the doctor's explanation. The doctor faltered. "What?""No," I repeated, my tone steadier this time, though my body shook. "I won't do it. I won't use their blood."The doctor's face crumpled in confusion. " Miss Leah, this is Damian's life we're talking about. Don't you want him to live?"Tears welled up in my eyes, but my resolve held firm. "Of course I do. I want Damian alive more than anything. But I've seen what that blood does. It doesn't heal. It doesn't bring people back to life in the way you think. It changes them—turns them into

LEAH'S POVIt had been a month. Thirty long days since I'd given birth to our twins. Thirty long days since Damian had slipped into a coma. Thirty long days since Damian was brought back almost dead into this pack. The air in the room where he lay was heavy with the scent of antiseptic, and the low hum of machines filled the silence. I sat beside his bed as I had every day since the battle. My babies were safe at home, cared for by a trusted nurse, while I spent hours here, speaking to Damian as though he could hear me."They're growing so fast, you know," I said softly, my fingers brushing against his cold hand. "Our babies. They've got your nose. Both of them. And the way they look at me... sometimes, it feels like they know something I don't."I leaned back in the chair, staring at his still form. "I haven't named them yet," I admitted, my voice catching in my throat. "How could I? We said we'd do it together. The few people we know keep asking me what I'll call them, and I don't h

My eyelids felt heavy, my body weak, but I forced myself to blink, to focus on the dimly lit room around me. The sterile scent of the room hit me next, and for a moment, I didn't understand why I was there. Then it all came rushing back. The complications. The delivery. The pain that had consumed me until everything went black.I tried to sit up, but my body protested, and I fell back against the pillows with a groan. My hand instinctively moved to my stomach, now flat and empty. Panic surged through me as I scanned the room. There was no sound of crying, no crib, no sign of the babies I had fought so hard to bring into this world."Where... where are my babies?" I raised my voice barely a whisper. One of my maids appeared by my side, her smile warm but cautious. "Calm down, miss. Your babies are safe.""Safe?" I repeated, my voice trembling.
