Damian's POV

"Clean this mess" I ordered, one of the maids that came to my room.

My hand throbbed in pain, dripping with blood from the relentless punching of the wall and the shattered remnants of my frustration. I hastily grabbed a handful of tissues to wrap around my wounded hand, attempting to stem the flow of blood, before making my way to my office.

A torrent of emotions ravaged me, as anger and sadness entwined like venomous snakes, poisoning my mind. The sting of Leah's rejection unleashed a maelstrom of memories, each one a painful reminder of every rejection I had ever faced, every hateful word that had ever been hurled my way.

The ghosts of my past came flooding back, haunting me with the sickening feeling that I was somehow unworthy, unlovable, and forever doomed to be rejected.

The whispers of "not good enough" echoed through my mind, taunting me with the cruel lie that I was flawed, that I didn't measure up, that I was destined to be alone.

I hadn't gotten enough rest. I had this nagging sense of being watched. It was unnerving, and I couldn't quite put my finger on why I felt so on edge. Perhaps it was just the uncertainty of the situation, but I couldn't shake off the feeling of discomfort. Is it a mistake to come here? Will I find what I'm looking for, or am I just wasting my time? Can he truly be capable of such evil?As I sat there, lost in thought, my mind was overwhelmed with a barrage of questions. But then, a gentle knock at the door broke the silence, shattering my thoughts. The sound transported me back to the time I was with Damian, memories of Nana came rushing back like a tidal wave. I remembered how she used to knock on my door every morning, her soft rapping a gentle wake-up call. By the time I opened my eyes, she would already have my

Leah's POVI wandered through the house, pretending to explore my surroundings, I was snooping around for any clues, no matter how small or insignificant they might seem. I had a nagging feeling that every detail could be crucial, and I couldn't afford to overlook anything. As I wandered through the house, I couldn't help but notice the changes that had taken place. It was clear that Lucy had taken it upon herself to redecorate. But I couldn't fathom what had possessed her to make such drastic alterations. The new decor was a far cry from the elegant and refined aesthetic I had once carefully curated.I couldn't help but think that Lucy's attempt at redecoration had fallen woefully short, and I found myself wondering what had driven her to make such ill-advised decisions.I ended up in the garden, where I stopped to think about everything that's been happening. But then I felt like someone was watching me.I spun around with a jolt, my heart racing, and that's when I saw her, Lucy,

Leah's POV"Is Damian the only hybrid within the estate?" Aiden inquired, his eyes narrowing slightly as he awaited my response.I was taken aback, my mind racing with surprise. I had anticipated questions, yes, but not this. I had expected Aiden to pry into my relationship with Damian, to ask if he loved me and if we were happy together... but this? This was a curve ball I hadn't seen coming. The question caught me off guard, leaving me momentarily stunned and scrambling to regain my composure."None that I know of," I replied, trying to sound nonchalant. But Aiden's eyes narrowed, his gaze piercing as he pressed on. "None that you know of, or you are not telling me the truth?" he asked, his tone laced with a hint of skepticism."I have nothing to hide," I said, my voice firm and resolute. "Damian didn't exactly treat me with kindness, so why would I bother protecting him?"I added."I don't know," Aiden said, "Maybe you enjoyed the benefits of being with him, and that's why you're

DAMIAN'S POV I have been in my office room trying to get some work done. The keyword here is trying because my mind has been boggled down by the thought of the recent events that have been happening these few days.Getting my mind off it has been my top priority today but it seems it can't leave my mind. I have caught myself a couple of times staring into a blank space, lost in thought.Sigh!I have never gotten this affected by anything before.I have known myself to get through anything but this, this has been crazy. At the forefront of my mind, the threat from the order stands. If I can recall properly, this day will be making it a week since it has been issued. And supposedly today is the day it is supposed to be acted upon but nothing yet. I had always thought that it was a bluff, an empty threat since it was issued by Nathan but one can't be too sure.I had Clinton increase the security systems around the estate and my men are on standby and if anything as so much as a weird b

There were firefighters around and a few ambulances. There was also press but I ignored them, pushing past them with the help of Clinton and a few of my men.I headed to the man who seemed to be in charge and asked him to brief me on the damages. He reported that the fire started at the part of the building with fewer people and there wasn't any death but a few of my staff were critically injured.I looked back to see Clinton behind me and I asked him to find out the cause of the fire and he left promptly. I also left and went up to the ambulances to check up on my staff. In a few minutes, Clinton came back to my side. I finished my talk with the medical services personnel in the ambulance before turning to face him. "So, what was it?", I questioned him."Master, it was reported that the fire was caused by a naked wire. It sparked", he answered and I kissed my teeth.I rubbed my forehead whil

I had nothing to do but scroll on the internet. The day has been boring and now, all the social media has lost its excitement. I was tired of scrolling and was on the verge of exiting and shutting down the laptop when I saw it.It was a post concerning the explosion of one of Damian's companies. I read through it but it was vague so I left the app to properly search for it on the net. When I got the news, I read through it and it was reported that the cause of the fire was an electric spark from a naked wire.Is this the order's doing? When I got to the end, there was a picture of Damian with detectives around him.Wait, is he getting arrested? What's going on?I searched for more news to confirm my suspicions but there was no confirmation from any of the legit news sites a few bloggers carried the news while making it clear that it could be rumors.Somehow, that calms my heart. This is the work of the order es

NATHAN'S POVSitting down at the round table, I took my time to look at the other attendees of this meeting.Vincent, Hades, and Delilah all looking bored with Delilah using a file on her nails, Hades was focused on his phone while his body lay heavily on the back of the chair causing it to slant a little, Vincent was probably the only person who looked a bit interested in what I have to say.I leaned forward, laying my hands on the table without breaking eye contact. I needed one of them to break form, for their defiant expression to give away for guilt, even in just a split second.I needed answers. Finally, I broke the silence, saying "The last time we had this meeting, we made a plan which was supposed to be carried out today. The plan was to rat out Damian to the police to avoid interference in our investigation and also to bring Damian's sins to light.Every single piece of evidence we have concerning this case points to Damian as the culprit and knowing that we made the plan a

LEAH'S POVSix months had passed. A lot had changed, and yet, some things remained the same. Life had found its way back into a semblance of balance. The house Delilah had destroyed, the one that had once been my sanctuary, had been rebuilt. Stronger. More beautiful. Every corner of it now seemed to hold new memories, new beginnings. The order that had been disrupted, the chaos that had once engulfed us, was now settling into a rhythm. Things were finally coming together.Damian had come so far in his healing, both physically and emotionally. Each day, I saw him growing stronger, more like the man he was before the war, before everything. He had taken on the responsibility of being the head of the hybrids, and with that came a weight that I knew he carried heavily. But he bore it with grace. His training had become more intense, more focused. I could see the fire in his eyes, the determination to protect our family, to protect everything we had worked so hard for.And the way, he

I blinked slowly, my vision swimming as I tried to make sense of my surroundings. White walls. The steady beeping of machines. A faint antiseptic smell. Where was I?My mind felt clouded like a thick fog had settled over it, obscuring everything I needed to grasp. Panic threatened to rise, but before I could gather my thoughts, I heard hurried footsteps. The sound grew louder, then closer—someone was running toward me.Before I could react, a body collided with mine with force, wrapping me in a tight, trembling embrace. The jolt sent a shock through my already fragile body, but I didn't care. The moment her scent hit me, everything stilled.Leah.I knew her before my eyes fully adjusted before my arms instinctively rose to wrap around her. LEAH'S POV"Please," I whispered, my voice trembling, eyes wide with desperation. "Repeat what you just said."The doctor, hesitant but resolute, cleared his throat. "Your children's blood," he began slowly, his tone deliberate, "it might be the only way to save Damian. Their blood has unique properties that could help them heal. They are hybrids, the only ones of their kind. It's uncharted territory, but—""No." my voice was sharp, slicing through the doctor's explanation. The doctor faltered. "What?""No," I repeated, my tone steadier this time, though my body shook. "I won't do it. I won't use their blood."The doctor's face crumpled in confusion. " Miss Leah, this is Damian's life we're talking about. Don't you want him to live?"Tears welled up in my eyes, but my resolve held firm. "Of course I do. I want Damian alive more than anything. But I've seen what that blood does. It doesn't heal. It doesn't bring people back to life in the way you think. It changes them—turns them into

  • THE REJECT HYBRID AND HIS LUNA   Chapter 157 THE PAIN EVOLVES

LEAH'S POVIt had been a month. Thirty long days since I'd given birth to our twins. Thirty long days since Damian had slipped into a coma. Thirty long days since Damian was brought back almost dead into this pack. The air in the room where he lay was heavy with the scent of antiseptic, and the low hum of machines filled the silence. I sat beside his bed as I had every day since the battle. My babies were safe at home, cared for by a trusted nurse, while I spent hours here, speaking to Damian as though he could hear me."They're growing so fast, you know," I said softly, my fingers brushing against his cold hand. "Our babies. They've got your nose. Both of them. And the way they look at me... sometimes, it feels like they know something I don't."I leaned back in the chair, staring at his still form. "I haven't named them yet," I admitted, my voice catching in my throat. "How could I? We said we'd do it together. The few people we know keep asking me what I'll call them, and I don't h

LEAH'S POVThe first thing I noticed was the stillness—the kind that wasn't comforting but left me disoriented. My eyelids felt heavy, my body weak, but I forced myself to blink, to focus on the dimly lit room around me. The sterile scent of the room hit me next, and for a moment, I didn't understand why I was there. Then it all came rushing back. The complications. The delivery. The pain that had consumed me until everything went black.I tried to sit up, but my body protested, and I fell back against the pillows with a groan. My hand instinctively moved to my stomach, now flat and empty. Panic surged through me as I scanned the room. There was no sound of crying, no crib, no sign of the babies I had fought so hard to bring into this world."Where... where are my babies?" I raised my voice barely a whisper. One of my maids appeared by my side, her smile warm but cautious. "Calm down, miss. Your babies are safe.""Safe?" I repeated, my voice trembling. Delilah's eyes gleamed with malevolence as she sneered at me, her long nails extended like razor-sharp claws."You think you can defeat me, Damian?" she taunted, her voice dripping with contempt. "I am the most powerful being on this earth."With a fierce battle cry, Delilah charged at me, her nails swiping through the air with deadly precision.
