DAMIEN'S POV

"I wouldn't do that if I were you, brother ", I told Aiden ignoring the curious looks on Leah's face.

" And if I do, what would you do?", Aiden choked out, his voice seeping with fake confidence.

Anyone with eyes could see him shaking with fear but I would applaud him for doing his best to look tough.

I let go of his hands and added a few more steps towards him, eyebrows raised, lips set in a smirk, the picture of arrogance beautifully painted.

"I would hold you by the neck and squeeze it till your eyeballs bulged out then at the last moment, I will use my bare hands to carve a hole in your chest, feel the last beats of your heart before pulling it out, and feeding it to you..."

"What the hell?" Aiden shouted, interrupting me. I watched him clench his fist, his eyes burning in anger but his mouth tells of his helplessness.

I chuckled, " I don't like being interrupted, Aiden, it might get me pissed off and you are going to hate what I will do when I get pissed off"

The coward kissed his teeth before asking "What are you doing here, I don't remember sending you an invite to my wedding".

"I don't need your permission to go wherever I want to, moreover, I came here for personal business", I answered, shifting my gaze toward Leah who looked confused but interested.

Aiden and I share a bond of brotherhood, yet it's a relationship fraught with tension. His animosity towards me is palpable, a sentiment that has only intensified over time.

We share a father, who considered me an abomination and him the prodigal son. But despite this, Aiden's resentment simmers just below the surface.

He noticed the shift of my gaze and turned to look at Leah. It seems his mind made some sort of connection because he dragged Leah towards himself.

"What do you want with her", he questioned but before I could answer, Leah pulled herself from him.

"Don't you dare touch me with your filthy hands, you lying cheat", she warned.

Hmm, feisty, I like that, I thought before turning back to face the " lying cheat", he was acting shocked by Leah's behavior, going on about

"Look Leah, you don't know him, you don't know who he is, you don't... .."

" And you do?", I asked him, cutting him off.

The coward took a step back, "and what gives you the audacity to try and protect a woman you abandoned?", I added.

" It's none of your Goddamn business what I do with my life and my woman", he bellowed, obviously enraged.

"I am not your woman", Leah said at the same time I said, "Don't talk that way about my woman".

The looks of shock on both of their faces were incredulous, Leah was more shocked and confused while Aiden was more shocked and angry.

I hear Leah whisper "What are you saying?" I ignored her, focusing more on Aiden who somehow had come up with some stupid accusation.

" you cunt, so you cheated on me and dared to bitch me about cheating"

"How am I sure that supposed pregnancy was for me and not him, you filthy bitch", he throttled, hands set to harm Leah but I dragged Leah, putting her behind me.

I grabbed Aiden by his shirt, pulled him closer, and asked, "Do you want to die?"

I watched him battle between fury and fear so I squeezed his shirt tighter, popping off a few buttons and he gave in to fear.

He nodded and I let go of him to notice his security men around me, poised for attack. I flicked my eyebrow his way and he signaled for them to back off.

"To all who are here, I am here to announce that Leah Alexander is my mate and with this information out there, I promise to bring down doom on whoever does as much as say a terrible word to her"

I watched the crowd for affirmation and there was a little here and there but I didn't care.

I wasn't expecting much from people who despise me and would do anything to see me dead.

I took Leah's hand, preparing to leave, when I caught Aiden's new bride staring at me. Her gaze was unwavering, her eyes locked onto mine without even a flicker.

As I continued to meet her gaze, a flicker of something danced across her eyes, I couldn't quite decipher what it was, but one thing was certain she wasn't scared of me.

I averted my gaze and took Leah out of there amidst fearsome and loathful looks.

I don't care about the looks, I have been used to them for ages. That's what being me involved and so I'm immune to it but looking at Leah, she doesn't seem to mind as much as I expected.

Or maybe she doesn't know who I am.

When we got to my car and I opened the door for her, she only looked at me weirdly. " Get in the car", I said but that only got her laughing.

"Look here mister, I thank you for standing up for me but the show is over and I need to go", she told me, taking small steps backward.

"You don't get it, do you?" I said with the realization that she didn't know who I was.

" You don't have a choice here, now get in" I commanded her but she was already shaking her head

" No bloody way, The knight in shining armor charade is over, leave me alone" she replied, confusion written all over her face.

I closed the door and strode towards her. When I caught up to her, I held her shoulder to keep her still before telling her,

"What happened inside there was neither a charade nor a joke. I claimed you in front of everyone there and I meant it. You are coming home with me because you belong to me".

"Belong to you? I am not your property, and I would love it if you took your hands off me, I'm going home" she replied, meeting my eyes without fear.

I blinked twice, first in shock, second in admiration, she is brave, but her bravery isn't enough in this matter.

"And where is home to you?", I asked her, a bit gently.

I watched her faltered a bit, with different emotions running through her face, most of them sad. After a couple of seconds, she replied, although a bit sheepishly, " I am going home to my family"

"The family you have no ties with anymore?", I taunted

"You know nothing about my family ties", she replied, I could tell she was surprised that I knew about that.

I guess she would be shocked when she finds out how much I know about her.

"Oh, don't I? Don't I know you threw away your chance of being the head of the Order for Love? Don't I know you haven't spoken to anyone in your family for four years and more?", I questioned.

"Do you want to hear more, I also know about your_"

"Stop! I'm not going with you and that's final", she said, looking weak. She brushed off my hands and headed back to the house.

" Where are you going?", I asked her but she ignored me. I rolled my eyes before walking up to her and lifted her, throwing her on my shoulder.

She started screaming but I ignored her, she stopped screaming and started hitting my back but I also ignored her.

When I got to the car, one of my guards opened the door for me and I brought her down to put her in the car but she spread out her body, hindering me.

I tried pushing her in but she spread herself wider, I wanted to tell her that she looks ridiculous but I don't think she will care.

"Stop this madness and get in", I said, frustratingly.

She didn't say anything until I asked one of my guards to get a rope and that's when she started begging, "Please let me go"

"No,", I replied.

"Can I at least get my belongings from inside", she asked resignedly.

"No, I will get you everything you need", I answered to which she straightened up herself and got in the car. I followed her immediately and shut the door after me.

"Who are you even? You are the only one that has gotten Aiden to lose his composure, especially in the presence of other people", she asked.

I smirked before answering her, "You will get to know that information later".

And then to the driver, I told "Take us to Diablo's Haven"

I knew she was going to react and I wasn't disappointed, she turned to me, almost losing her neck in the process,

"Why there? That's where the....... OH FUCK. IT'S YOU".

As I did, my heart pounded, both from the rush of the moment and the struggle within myself.Leah, barely conscious, groggily looked up at me and weakly asked, "What just happened?"Not sure myself, I looked into her eyes, compelling her, "You are to forget everything that happened here at once and go to sleep"

It took a while to figure out where I was, but when I finally did, I looked down at my clothes and around the room. I thought, "Wait, I'm still here". Ouch, ouch, ouch, my neck hurts but as I felt around it, I couldn't detect any sign of an injury or a prick. Where is this pain coming from? Ah, and my legs—my thigh is sore. What the hell happened? Have I been sleeping that long?I turned to see Nana, her back was to me. I wondered what she was doing. At that moment, Nana turned towards me with a steamy cup, which I guessed might contain tea, coffee, poison, or some sort of drug. I have no idea of what was going on, yet!She came over, smiling, and if I were to describe it, weirdly. She offered me the cup and I took it, I had no other choice.I looked up from the cup containing a hot green something and asked, "Nana, do you know if anything happened? Did something happen? They are hybrids, the only ones of their kind. It's uncharted territory, but—""No." my voice was sharp, slicing through the doctor's explanation. The doctor faltered. Thirty long days since Damian was brought back almost dead into this pack. The air in the room where he lay was heavy with the scent of antiseptic, and the low hum of machines filled the silence. I sat beside his bed as I had every day since the battle. My babies were safe at home, cared for by a trusted nurse, while I spent hours here, speaking to Damian as though he could hear me."They're growing so fast, you know," I said softly, my fingers brushing against his cold hand. "Our babies. They've got your nose. Both of them. And the way they look at me... sometimes, it feels like they know something I don't."I leaned back in the chair, staring at his still form.
