Past Life

**Scarlett’s POV**

Immediately Annabel left my room obviously angry, and I didn't care, I headed straight to see the elders. 

    I scratched my head thinking of what they have to convey, I hope it isn't what I am thinking, I kept on murmuring until I got to the Throne room, they were all seated.

   I breathed down nervously before going in. They were two thrones, I sat down on the second one which was my mom's throne, My Alpha will be the one to sit on my Dad's throne. I don't think I am ready for any relationship now, I will be the one to rule, I don't need any Alpha that would betray me in the future, My past life kept on ringing in my ears. 

 The Elders bow slightly in honor, That's the rule as an Alpha or Luna of the park. For now, I am seen as the Alpha of the park, and they dare not disrespect me. If you do not obey any rules, you will be killed or thrown into the dungeon. I nodded my head after they bowed their heads, waiting for them to speak.

“Your parents just got buried, you know that” One of the elders blurted out, his eyes fixed on me. I kept quiet for a while, holding the tears that were threatening to fall, but I wasn't ready to show them my weak side, an Alpha is not expected to be weak. A weak Alpha can't rule the people, one of the rules of this Park.

“I know that, you don't need to remind me about it” I stated, trying to be polite by my words, I didn't say any other thing, waiting for them to drop the bombshell. I don't understand why they are beating around the bush.

“I apologize for reminding you about your parent's death, we know you haven't gotten over it, even at that we couldn't wait any longer” Atlas Father, The Beta explained not wanting to get me angry, But trying to make me understand their point.

“It is fine, I understand, you can go straight to the point and stop beating around the bush please” I dictated curiously, I was unable to wait any longer, I have a lot to take care of after now.

“I believe You've started feeling the mate connection, you know your mate now?” One of the Elders hesitated before dropping the bombshell. This was the exact thing they said two years back After my parents died, and I foolishly showed them Luke, I won't make those same mistakes anymore.

“Not yet, I don't have a mate yet.” I replied abruptly, I had no option than to lie, can't be fooled twice.

“What! " The Elders exclaimed, staring at themselves dramatically, I smirked inwardly, just waiting for the damn meeting to be over.

“Yes, I can take care of the park myself, I don't need a mate” I blurted out without realizing what I just said, but I didn't mind. 

  Their eyes widened, and their mouths opened. They were astonished, I scoffed at the drama they were displaying in front of me.

“It is impossible” My Beta provoked ruffling his head obviously, He is frustrated not knowing what to say or do.

“My park, My choice. I don't need an Alpha and that is final, No one should question my Authority. Thanks for your time. “ I verbalized and walked out on them. I know I was rude, but I can't let them mislead me twice. They murmured between themselves, I smirked and headed to Anabel's room. I need to play the game unnoticed. I don't need to distance myself from her, if I do so, she is going to suspect me.

 She started staying with me after her parent's death. My parents took her in, and she became my best friend and sister. She paid me back with evil, The game just begins. I stood in front of her door, listening to the moans coming out from the room. The room is soundproof, but with my powers, I can hear the moans.

“Cousins having s** huh?” I muttered holding the door knob, I can use my powers and open it, but I don't need to rush things. I knocked on the door repeatedly. I was about to leave, not until I heard Annabel's voice.

“Who is that mother f****r” She screamed, and I laughed silently. She is really enjoying the f**k from her cousin. This is hilarious, so I decided to play along.

“Scarlett, your best friend” I yelled, laughing slightly, can't wait for her reply.

“Shit, Luke you need to hide” I heard her muttering to Luke, she thought I am a fool, I imagined the scene in my head. Through the powers of the Moon goddess inserted in my body, I watched what was going on in the room.

She hid Luke in the bathroom and quickly dressed up, that was when she replied to me.

“I am coming Scarlett” She screamed to my hearing and I quickly snapped out of the scene, the door opened. Her face glued on me, I rolled my eyes secretly.

“You didn't tell me you were coming, I was busy going through some stuff, I apologize for yelling earlier, just mood swings.m, She lied allowing me to gain entrance to her room, I sat down on her bed. My eyes roamed around the room, The rumpled bed is now arranged, she is indeed wise but foolish.

“I just finished with the Elders and was angry” I uttered trying to start up a conversation, she groaned hidingly, but I saw it already.

“What message did they have for you?” She questioned acting like everything is alright.

I hugged her tight, a frown smuggled on my face.

“This is just a reminder for you to watch your back” I thought inwardly, still hugging her affectionately, confusing her the more.

“Why the hug?” She whispered in my ears, breaking the hug.

“The elders asked about my mate, They needed an Alpha to the throne” I replied pretending to be sad, tears streaming down my cheeks.

“Is that why you are crying, huh?” Annabel questioned, wiping my tears, She is perfect at acting.
