88. WHERE IS JANE?

MEI’S POV

I was feeling skeptical about visiting my mother since it’s been ages I heard from her. I didn’t even tell her about me schooling in another country because I didn’t want to look selfish considering the relationship between her and my sister.

Ever since she got remarried, everything went downhill between all of us. I could remember that we were a happy family that loved each other and would do anything for each other. We nursed our sick father with love even though we barely had anything.

I know deep down that Petals still love her dearly, she just didn’t want to accept that her mother got married to someone and she would have to accept him as her stepfather.

I found out two secrets in just a span of minutes. My dear mother was sick and no one of was aware, also she wasn’t the one that gave birth to Petals. I grew up with them and never ever did I know about this huge secret, I was sure that even Petals wouldn’t even know.

“How did this happen? How did we get here?” I cried
