LUNA
Perhaps she was not going to have the chance to glance at the sunlight. It had been a month since she had been sitting in the dungeon, her mates had promised to do something about it. However, she hadn't seen any improvement nor been taken out. After she had brought threat to the pack she had grown into. She had gotten rid of the threat with most people by her side, she had thought getting rid of the threat she created was going to make her belong to the pack but she was thrown into the dungeon. She never knew what they wanted to do her now.She had always hidden all her life, always finding solace in her room and when she decided to get a little bit of freedom and found her mates. Everything crumbled when she was scented by the hybires and became wanted. All thanks to her vampire mate, she was able to overcome the hybires and get rid of them. She took in a deep breath as she glanced out the dungeon rods. She was clutching tightly to it and gazing out of the cell. It was dark but she could see clearly, her dungeon was far away from the other criminals of the pack. She wasn't a criminal, just a taboo to the pack. She was glad she was at least thrown into the dungeon than other hybrids who were executed if they were found. Since the werewolves were enemies with the vampires, she had no right to say what they wanted to do to her. She was both and she had both mates from each of the species. Her life had been a mess from the start, from losing her Vampire mom to the hands of the hybires who wanted her, to having a bestfriend who her father thought was imaginary to hiding her identity. Now she was trapped in the dungeon and she guessed everyone would have heard the news about the future Luna being in the dungeon.Footsteps echoed in towards the dungeon, she jolted back to reality and watched the shadow of the person approaching. She moved away from entrance, ever since she had been put in the cell none of her mates had visited her. Although Ashford, her vampire mate, had stayed with her throughout the day she was thrown into the dungeon. He had promised to get her out, even though it was already a month. She still believed Ashford was going to get her out. The footsteps stopped in front of the bars, she couldn't see the face of the person, it was a man and he was putting on a long black coat. He squatted in front of her and her eyes came in contact with a pair of sparkling blue eyes."Ashford!" She squealed in excitement."Shh!" He placed his hand over his lips. "Don't be too loud, I am still here."She moved closer to the cell and gave him a warm smile. She was so happy to see him and he was smiling back at her. She pushed her hand through the bars and pinched his cheek."What took you so long to visit me?" She questioned. "Were you ashamed of me because I am locked up in the cell?"She knew it was none of the above, he was probably busy to visit her everyday. Ashford touched her nose through the bars and the corner of his lips curled into a smirk."Kitten, I am getting you out today. I was not able to visit you everyday and I had to sneak in today." He said, holding her hand his eyes flickered with hope. "I am not ashamed of you and you are coming back home."Luna's eyes widened in surprise, not that she was surprised that he was going to get her out. She was surprised that she was actually getting out today. She opened her lips to speak but he released her and sped away without any word. Her fingers gripped around the bars as she glanced out trying to catch a glimpse of him but he had disappeared."What part of the dungeon is the Altamunar kept in?" A voice asked.Luna's head swung towards the direction of the voice. Had they been calling her that name since she was in the dungeon? Her name was Luna but after going through half the book at the werewolf palace, she found out that her real name was Altamunar according to the prophecy. The combination of the two goddess of Lunar Crest names. The men stopped in front of the dungeon, she watched them open the bars and stepped away for her to come out."You can come out now Altamunar." The first man said with a smile on his face. "It's time to go back home."Luna blinked her eyes and stood to her feet, she was really going home. Ashford had helped her get out of the dungeon, she stepped out of the dungeon and felt relief washed through her. She was finally getting out of the dungeon after a long time. The men led her away from the dungeon, she glanced over her shoulder and found Ashford staring at her. She flashed him a bright smile and he responded with a grin."Do you know why you were let out of the dungeon?" Dean asked.Luna raised her head to look at him, he was staring at her. Their eyes locked, Dean brows furrowed, she was looking at the current Alpha in the eye. Despite the fact that she was his son's mate, he had been the one to throw her into the dungeon."I have no idea, why was I released?" She questioned.Ashford hadn't told her why she was released, he had only told her about her release. She remembered the first day she was trapped in the dungeon, she had asked him to release her in a way that the pack would know her worth. What did he do?"Father, she is just getting out of the cell." Adrian's voice echoed around the office. Luna spun around to look at him, he was walking in through the door and into his father's office. Unlike the excitement she had felt when she saw her vampire mate, she didn't feel any excitement as she glanced at Adrian, her werewolf mate."I haven't made an announcement about her release, how do you know
Luna walked towards the current Luna and glanced down at her. Her eyes were closed, her body was pale and she was barely breathing. Luna was nervous, she hadn't tried to heal someone who was poisoned before. The only person she had healed was Adrian and it wasn't from poison. She rolled her hand around Luna's chest. Golden lights emitted from her hand and she placed her hand on Luna's forehead. The blue lights went through Luna and moved inside her. Luna waited and a few minutes later, Luna's eyes flung open. The pack doctor that was watching Luna eyes grew wide with amusement.Adrian and Dean hurried over to her as soon as her eyes opened. Luna made her way towards the door, her job was done and she needed to go home. She wanted to see her father, she wanted to talk to him and feel his hug. It had been a month since she saw him."Luna, Luna." The pack doctor called after her and hurried towards her.Luna stopped and glanced over her shoulder. "Yes?""Would you love to work with me and
Ashford on the other hand walked down the stairs, he spotted Bartram moving around the dining table. He walked into the kitchen with Bartarm, the aroma of the food was intoxicating. "Smells nice, father." Ashford complimented.Bartram glanced at him. "Thank you, the food is ready but my daughter is a vegetarian.""I know that but don't you think she should eat some meat? She is a werewolf and a vampire.""The choice is hers." Bartram said. "Would you mind passing me the spoon please?"Ashford reached out for the spoon and grabbed it, handing the spoon to Bartram he glanced over to the dining table. Bartram had set up the table with different kinds of food and now he was stuffing it with veggies and no blood.Ashford walked towards the table, vampires do get enough strength when they drink blood and Luna hadn't drank blood yet except his blood. After both men were finished from setting the table. Luna finally appeared above the stairs, she had changed into something else. A red gown, t
Ashford's brows furrowed in confusion. "If you become his Luna, then what happens to me?"Luna peered at him, since she was mated to two and Adrian was also her mate. Getting engaged to Adrian might be the first step she had to take to achieve what she wanted and she wasn't going to let it slip. Although she liked Ashford and prefered him to Adrian, she had made up her mind."Nothing." She replied."Luna, you can't unite them. Your mother tried to but it didn't work." Bartram reminded her. "You can't take the risk and Dean gave me a list of rules for you to follow if you want to stay in the pack.""What does the list say?" Luna grumbled, her frustration evident in her voice."You have to embrace your werewolf side and only use your werewolf powers." Ashford answered. "That's unfair.""That's the only way I can stay in the pack." Luna muttered. "This is the main reason why I want to unite the species. If I do that, I wouldn't be forbidden anymore and I would be able to embrace my full p
Phoebe pulled away from the hug."You can't say you miss me too?" Phoebe asked, storming into the room she jumped on Luna's bed. "Everyone missed your absence.""I don't believe that." Luna shrugged. "No one visited, no one missed me.""I could have." Phoebe confirmed. "But I wasn't allowed to go inside, you were not allowed to receive guests and Adrian was busy with practice and now that the full blood moon is near. You are going to be engaged to him, Alexa is going to have a breakdown."Luna groaned, this was the second time someone was mentioning that witch. She wondered why Alexa was going to give up the one sided love she has for Adrian. It was not as if Adrian was going to like her back."What do you have to say to me? Why are you here?" Luna asked as she took her seat next to Phoebe.Phoebe sat up and peered at Luna. "There is a lot but first, I have to take you to meet my brother, he is waiting.""Waiting for what?" Luna asked."You have to go pick an outfit for your engagement
Dean sat down. "You have to go now, she will be waiting for you. You have to pick a perfect outfit for the engagement."At the mention of Adrian going to find her, she hurried away from the door and stood five miles away from it. After a few minutes, Adrian stepped out of the door and his gaze shifted to her. Luna peered at him, he had tried to stand up for her and at least show some support. She wondered if he was out doing it because he needed a Luna by his side. "Luna, you came?" He asked as he approached her.She shifted uncomfortably at his intense gaze. However she managed to maintain a straight face as he got to her. Before she could respond, he pulled her by the hand and pulled her towards the other side of the packhouse. Luna surveyed the environment as he pulled her. She recognized the place, it was the direction to his room. Phoebe had taken her there but they only stared at the door and left. She claimed her brother never let anyone inside his room with him. Soon he was o
"He knew and he was okay with it unlike you." With that she turned around and left the room, wondering why he brought her into his room in the first place. Perhaps he wanted to show her the painting and make her get comfortable with him."Mooncat, wait up." He called as he slammed the door shut. "Have you moved around Lunar Crest? Do you know where the market is?"He didn't need to rub it in her face, ever since she had been born. She had never moved around the pack, she does not know the direction to anywhere in the pack that she had lived all her life. She took in a deep breath and halted."Lead the way then." She muttered. "I don't know anywhere and you don't have to rub it in my face."Adrian fell into step with her and glanced at her, she had a frown on her face."I can show you around the pack." He offered."No thanks." She glanced at him. "I am not new to the pack and it would be embarrassing for you to show me around."He raised a brow. "Don't worry, I will show you around as
Adrian glanced at her. "Right." He gaze shifted to Emmett. "We will catch up later."Emmett nodded and waited for them to get on Maddox. Luna tensed up as she glanced at Emmett waving at them with that same smirk on his face. They were different person, she tried to convince herself but it didn't work. Adrian was sitting behind her and she could feel the heat of the his body. He was clutching to the rope connected to the derewolf and it was in front of her.He turned Maddox around and headed towards the direction of the market. Luna could no longer see Emmett but she was sure that he gaze was still on them. For some reason, she felt better since Adrian's body was covering hers and Emmett couldn't see her."Are you alright?" Adrian asked."I am fine." She replied almost immediately."You look tense.""It's nothing." There was silence and she spoke again. "I am fine."She wished Ashford was here, she was going to tell him and find comfort in his hug. Adrian placed his head on her shoulde
Luna nodded. “She isn't like them; she is a hybrid.”At the mention of her being a hybrid, Ashford and Bartram's eyes rounded in shock.“She is also a werewolf vampire.” Bartram inquired.“She doesn't look like she has the blood of a vampire to me,” Ashford muttered.“She isn't like me. She is a mermaid and a werewolf.”Another wave of surprise washed through them.“You mean to tell me that mermaids are still in existence?” Ashford asked.Luna scowled at him. “If vampires and werewolves exist, why wouldn't mermaids?”“Because it is said that they died a long time ago,” Bartram replied.Alice nodded her head behind Luna. “My father was the last merman before he gave birth to me.”“Oh.”Luna was confused; all mermaids and mermaids were dead except her father, and now he birthed her to continue the reigns of mermaids.“Alice said her father was the last merman, and there were no others of their species. He mated with a werewolf and gave birth to her,” Luna explained.“That explains a lot
Luna smiled at the girl. “I'm Luna, from Lunar Crest. Nice to meet you.”“Are you the mate of the Alpha?” Alice asked.“Yes,” Luna answered, “but my name is Luna.”Alice smiled. “I thought it was the title I got from being that Luna of the pack.”“No, it isn't.”“I'm from Cruster Toon,” Alice muttered.“Siblings!” Luna uttered.“Yup!”They went quiet. Luna glanced at Phoebe and Millie. Phoebe winked at her before leaving the class.'Be a good girl, Luna,' Phoebe said, mind-linking her.'You say that to a little kid,’ Una snapped.Luna wondered if Phoebe heard that; apparently, she didn't.“I hope you enjoy the class,” Alice said.Luna smiled. That was the first female she was talking to who was from Cruster Toon. She nodded her head in reply, and soon the class began.“To control water, you have to embrace water like it was your second body,” Millie said, moving her hand, and the liquid followed the movements.Luna listened attentively as the class went on. Millie was a great teacher,
Luna returned his smile. “Good morning.”“Do you know Luna?” Phoebe chimed in as she shoved Trevor off and sat next to her. “Adrian told Alexa to take the other carriage.”“Ouch, that hurts!” Trevor grunted as he landed on his butt.Luna didn't look pleased. “Okay? Did she agree to that?” “She did it with gritted teeth,” Tristan replied. “She might go against you at school.”“She doesn't have any elements.” Trevor chimed in. “She can't stand a chance against Luna, who has all four elements.”Luna was stunned. “How come she has no elements?” “She doesn't have an element, but she does control water. I have no idea how that works; she didn't get anything after the test, but after using that water element. The teachers agreed for her to be in the water class.” Phoebe explained. “The teacher was convinced that it was a mistake that she got the water element, but we were not convinced,” Trevor stated.“Who are we?” Luna questioned. “The three of us,” Phoebe answered. “I have no idea if
The next morning, the sound of the birds could be heard as Luna opened her eyes. There was a warm sensation next to her, and she realized that it was Ashford. Raising her head, she sat up; he had his hair down and his eyes closed. She blushed; he was handsome when he slept. She brushed the strands of his hair off his forehead and leaned in to kiss it. A smile crept up her lips, and she kissed his forehead again. She wanted to do something to him before he woke up. She got out of bed and walked to her dressing mirror. She picked up a lipstick and walked back to him.Moments later, after she had her bath, she walked towards the dining room where her father was setting. “Good morning, Father.” Bartram turned around to look at her. “Morning, Wildcat. Trust your night was good.”“It sure was; I had no idea I fell asleep like that.” She pulled out a chair and flopped her butt on it before grabbing an apple on the table.“You slept like a log; was the training draining?” Bartram asked.
“I think it is unsafe for her.’’ Ashford voiced out. “She is a hybrid, and you want her to stay in the packhouse filled with werewolves.”“What's that supposed to mean? Adrian demanded. “She is my mate and is still going to live in the packhouse sooner or later.”Ashford's brow arched. “You are delusional. “Not only do you not care about her, you also think highly of yourself.”Adrian's fist tightened.“Are you already thinking about a future with a mate who almost rejected you? You are really delusional.” Ashford murmured, his gaze piercing into Adrian. He had read Adrian's mind, although he wanted to stop the mind-reading. He couldn't; it was easier for him to beat Adrian in an argument that way.“Why wouldn't I think of a future with my mate?” Adrian questioned. Ashford never thought that he was going to admit it. He could see that Adrian was controlling himself to not snap.“You shouldn't do that now.” Ashford pressed. “She feels unsafe with you, and you want her to leave next to
“I never expected him to pack this much,” Luna said as Ashford set out for a picnic in the woods. The picnic was in a garden that she had no idea was next to the pack. However, she wondered how the garden got there.“I created the garden,” Ashford informed her. “I didn't get to show you before, but this is the place where I come whenever my mother makes me mad.”“You don't come here anymore?” She peered at him.“Yes.”“Why?”He sat down on the mat that was on the floor, and she did the same.“I found you, so I came to your house instead of this garden.”Luna blushed. “So that means that you care about me more than your garden?”“Isn't that what it sounds like?” Her face flushed harder, and she looked away from him. “What fruit do you have?” He asked. “Maybe an orange.” She replied without looking at him.He picked up an orange and began peeling it for her. She peeked at him before finally looking at him. He handed the orange to her as soon as he was done peeling it.“I was wonderin
Bartram hesitated, but he knew that he had to because Luna was going to stay mad at him.“You can't meet them because they don't want you."Luna's eyes widened, and she felt her heart crumble into many pieces. She wasn't expecting that; they didn't want her.Tears welled up in her eyes, and every thought she had about meeting them crumbled. What was she expecting? She wasn't always wanted in the first place.“Why do they not want me?” Her lips quivered as she inquired.Bartarm took her hand. “They blamed you for destroying their daughter if she hadn't given birth to you as they had instructed her. She would have been the queen and wouldn't be hated.”Her face went pale as the words hit her; she couldn't understand what logic her grandparents had. If they wanted her mother, why was she different? He paused, his eyes meeting Ashford's. “I hope you don't make her find them because I am sure that they would ruin your plan of making Luna feel loved there. Also, I am sure that they would al
“You still haven't forgotten about Assy,” Bartram said, his eyes shimmering with hurt.“Are you going to tell me that he is only my imagination? My imaginary friend?” Luna asked. “You can say it.”Bartram shook his head. “I wasn't going to say anything; he was your friend, but he hadn't shown up for years. It's been years, and I haven't even met him.”Luna sighed. “Maybe he left; he might be back.”“I know that you still want Assy to come back!”“He was my first friend!”"Now that you have another friend and, as well, a lover, why do you keep thinking about him? It's not like you know him or what species he is anyway.”Luna's gaze fell. “He is my friend, and I am not going to forget him. I might not know what he is, but he made me happy back then. He never cared about who I was, and the little I knew about magic, he taught me.”“He might not be here anymore to teach me, but to be honest, I miss him a lot.” She admitted.Bartram rubbed his face. “I can't believe I am asking you this, b
“Here. Drink this.” Bartram handed a bowl of medicine to her.She glanced at her father. “Is it bitter?"He shook his head. “Quite the opposite.”She raised the bowl to her lips and gulped down everything in it while her father took his seat in front of her. Ashford was sitting next to her and bringing a blood bag.“You said you had met Monsell here?” Bartram asked.Luna shook her head before lowering the bowl to the table. “Uh-huh.”“And you said he was Adrian's cousin?"“Yes.”Bartram frowned at her. “Why didn't you tell me that they looked alike? Also, why didn't Adrian or anyone else recognize him as Monsell?”“Adrian doesn't know what Monsell looks like,” Ashford replied. “When he went to the pack, he took the shape of Luna. No one knew what he looked like, including Phoebe.”Bartram's frown tightened. “I haven't met this guy, so I didn't have an idea about him. He is not usually in the pack because he belongs to another pack. His mother got married to an alpha of Faira Noon's pa
