I wake up with a sore neck and a small weight on my chest, Porsha. The unfamiliar surrounding confuses me at first, soon being replaced with realization. I check the time, 10:30. Not bad. I stroll into the kitchen, humming to a song. I wonder what time Daniel’s game is today. I turn my music on, careful that it isn’t too loud. ‘You say you can’t live without me So why aren’t you dead yet, Why you still breathing?’ Madison’s voice sings as my eggs cook. I swing my hips along to the beat, embracing the effect music has on me. “Are you trying to kill me?” Daniel’s raspy morning voice sounds behind me. I laugh, hugging him. “Good morning, how’s your sleep?” I place a quick kiss on his cheek, flipping the eggs. “I slept good. How did you sleep?” He smiles, leaning against the counter next to me. “It was okay. Do you want some?” I say, he nods. “Thank you” He says when I hand him my original plate. “What time is the game?” I ask, smiling over at him. “One. These are really good
Luckily, we are in Express where they have leather jackets. “Go in the dressing room, I’ll come to you after” I smile, shooing him. I run to find Kylie, telling her my idea. “I absolutely love that. You go too Brooks” She says and we search for clothes. I grab a black leather jacket and some black ripped jeans. A white t-shirt even though he can wear the black one he has on already. I would love to see it with white too. Grabbing a belt off the rack, Kylie and I make our way into the dressing room to see Daniel and Brooks leaning against the wall, conversing. “Promise me you’ll have an open mind?” I hold my pinky out to him. “Fine” He smiles, interlocking our fingers. “Thank you” I kiss his cheek, handing him the clothes. He goes into the dressing room next to Brooks. “Kisses” He whines. I just ignore it. Soon he comes out, the clothes fit him perfectly. And he looks amazing. “What do you think?” I look him up and down. “Its different. Not as uncomfortable as I thought” He st
Today I am moving into the apartment with Cody and then going to Brooks party. I’m very excited to finally be on my own and not feel like I’m taking advantage of the Greens. I never really unpacked my boxes so it doesn’t take long to pack everything up. I still have to figure out what to do with my house. I’ll take care of that after I turn 18 so that I can get the money for it. After packing everything I look at Daniel to see his eyes still pressed closed. I shake my head, a smile on my face. Picking up some of the light boxes and bringing them downstairs. “Kisses? Where’s Daniel?” Brooks questions as I struggle with a heavier box. “He’s still sleeping. Its early” I laugh, looking at my watch. Its only 8:30. I wanted to get packing done early. “Go wake his ass up. You need help” Jim takes the box from Brooks. “I can manage” I smile, running up the stairs to grab another box. Once all the boxes are at the door I decide to wait for Daniel to wake up to bring them to the car.
Daniel got his acceptance letter to UCLA today. I applied but still haven’t heard back. “You’ll get in Kiss. You’re so smart” He rubs my arm, placing a kiss on my temple. “I don’t know” I mumble, fumbling with the letter and almost full ride scholarship to North Carolina State. UCLA has always been a dream school of mine. I always wanted to be an English teacher. Recently my idea of a major has changed. I’ve been leaning towards Veterinary Science. I applied to North Carolina because of the vet program but I don’t want to lose Daniel. “So its between UCLA and NC?” Daniel asks, grabbing the letter out of my hand. “Yeah, being a vet is really appealing to me” I frown. “So go Kiss. UCLA doesn’t offer a vet program” He runs his hands through my hair. “But-“ I start before he stops me by placing his lips on mine. “Consider it” He whispers. “Lunch will be ready in 5” He says, walking into the kitchen. “Fuck” I curse under my breath, walking into the kitchen. My room is now all fin
~Skip to my birthday~ I open my eyes, happy to see Daniel’s face next to me, fast asleep. He looks so peaceful. I smile, grabbing my phone and heading downstairs slowly, not wanting to wake anyone. I make a quick cup of coffee, getting some bread, bacon, eggs and sausage from the kitchen. I might as well make everyone breakfast. As I place the bacon in the oven to crisp up, I hear footsteps. “Kisses? What are you doing up? I was going to make you breakfast” Tara gasps seeing me heating up the sausage in a frying pan. “Surprise?” I question, laughing. “Happy birthday sweetie” Tara laughs, pulling me into a hug. I smile, kindly accepting her embrace. “Dammit Tara, she beat us to it” Jim whines seeing me cooking. “You guys do everything for me. Now shush up and stop complaining. Breakfast will be done soon” I smile. “Happy birthday Kisses” Jim laughs, hugging me. “Kisses making breakfast? That was your job mom” Kylie huffs walking into the kitchen with Brooks causing me to laugh. “
“Kisses, happy birthday” He smiles with glossy eyes. “This can’t be real” I smile through my tears. “How’s your day so far?” He smiles. “Its good, really good” I sigh, happily. “I can’t talk for long right now but I will later” He says, a tear falling out of his eye. I want nothing more but to cry to him over everything that’s happened but decide not to. We don’t have much time and I don’t want to worry him. “How are you?” I smile, nodding. “I’m good. Yeah, I’m really glad I got to face time you today. You’re legal, time to move” He laughs. “Already have an apartment to look at” I smile, motioning for Grace to sit next to me. “That’s great. Gracie, how are you? I miss you. I miss you both” He smiles, more tears welling in his eyes. She slings her arm around my shoulder, pulling me close to her. Luke being in the army has been hard for the whole family. He was like an older brother to me. The moment him and his family left and he decided to go in the service was heart breaking.
“How does it feel?” Daniel asks when I walk into his house. “Its sore” I sigh, sitting on the couch. I’ve had my boot off for a week now and just started Physical Therapy. “I know, I’m sorry baby” He gives me a small smile, handing me some ice. “Thank you” I pull him to sit down next to me. “When is your last hockey game?” I lean my head on his shoulder, looking down at my phone. “Tomorrow, it got moved from Friday” He frowns. “Oh wow” I say, not knowing it was so close. “Last game of my high school career. Shits crazy” He laughs, running his hand up and down my arm. The mixture of the ice and his touch cause goosebumps to cover my body. “Yeah, wow. You guys killed it this season. Do you think you’ll make it to the championship game?” I ask, looking up at Daniel. “I hope so. We got so close last year. It would be great to be able to do it this year” A smile spreads on his face. “You guys are going to do great. I know it” I kiss his cheek, closing my eyes. “Do you have any h
~Daniel’s P.O.V~ I slowly get out of Kisses embrace and get ready for the game. My nerves pick up remembering this is the playoffs. It’ll be fine. Tim, Aiden and I have been preparing for weeks. I do some of my warm up exercises before I wake Kisses up. “Kiss, its time to get up” I whisper in her ear, kissing her temple. “Mm, are you sure?” She jokes, a smile on her face. “Yeah, I’m sorry hun” I smile back at her. “Are you ready for your game?” She sits up, rubbing her eyes. “I know, I’m going to touch up my makeup” She laughs, pulling her hands away from her eyes. “Just take it off, you don’t need it” I smile handing her my jersey. “Oh yeah, sure” She pulls my jersey over her shirt. “I’m going to ask if I can borrow Kylie’s jeans” She walks out of my room, fluffing her hair. “O-Okay” I stutter. F?ck, that was hot. I shake my head, clearing my mind from the thoughts. I need to finish getting ready. “Dan, should I put my hair up or leave it down?” She asks, reapplying h
I have been Daniel Green for 7 years now. After our honeymoon we found out I was pregnant again and this time we had a little girl Christine Diane Green. was my beautiful little girl. Funny enough a couple weeks after I found out I was pregnant with Christine, Kylie found out she was pregnant as well with a little girl, Valerie Mckenzie Gomez . I knocked on my son’s room . “Damien can I come in?” “Yeah mom” Damien was the definitely a mommy’s boy and he shared the same love as sports as his parents, his room was just that with beds on either side, a small basket court in between and a climbing rope to go up on the top of his bed. “You need
One month after the weeding I drew in a long, slow breath to calm my nervous excitement as I lit the candle atop the chocolate cupcake I had secretly bought. I had made arrangements for it to be delivered while we were out sightseeing. Never in my wildest dreams had I ever imagined I would be in Maldives, let alone be enjoying my honeymoon there. Daniel and I had said our vows on the beach just days ago, surrounded by our friends. Now, we were alone, just him and I to start our new life as husband and wife. He was my husband. Just the thought sent butterflies into flight in my stomach. We were married. He was mine forever. I closed my eyes as his vows whispered into my ears in his delicious British accent. He had stared at me with those gorgeous green eyes and declared his never-ending love for me. Somehow, I had managed to stay standing while I melted inside. I had opted out of a big wedding dress. Instead, I wore a knee-length white dress. It was sleeveless and cinched at the w
Today's the day I marry again my love. It's been just over two years since I surprised Daniel with being pregnant with our second child and we decided to wait until after the baby was born to get married so I could could lose the baby weight. Daniel and I had the same as the others, a little boy. Alexander Damien Green was born the middle child to his cousin Jhon Edward Green and best friend Damon Lyndon Jackson, all boys were born a week apart. Our wedding is taking place outside a beautiful old barn and after the reception will be inside the barn. Kylie was my maid of honor and I had Grace, Samantha, Christine and Sydney as my bridesmaids. Daniel had Brooks as his best man and Luke, Kurt, Rain and Andrew as his groomsmen. The girls were all in long navy blue dresses with lace on the neckline and the boys were in grey suits with a white shirt and navy blue tie. Daniel would be in a black suit and navy tie and the little boys would be in white button downs with suspenders while Athena
A year has passed by as I forged forward with a life I had once only dreamt about with Daniel. I came home from working at the hospital on a random weekday and opened the house door. I stepped inside and immediately noticed how eerily quiet the house was. "Daniel?" I called out as I took a step forward. He was supposed to be off today. My stomach dropped as I wondered if he had been called in. "Daniel?" I took another step forward when something crunched beneath my foot. I lowered my eyes to the floor and looked quizzically at the rose beneath my shoe. I slowly bent down and picked it up. I inspected the red rose in my hand, wondering what on earth it was doing there, as my eyes gazed across the floor of the condo. My breath caught as my heart beat rapidly as I stared at the trail of red roses laid out before me. I trembled with an excited anticipation as I began to follow the trail, picking them up as I walked. I followed their path to the back patio door. I slid the door open and
The much awaited day had finally arrived. Kisses Jackson would officially become Kisses Jackson Green and Daniel would finally marry the love of his life. All of the last minute preparations were being carried out diligently. The wedding was to be the event of the year. The groom, the biggest corporate honcho in all of North Carolina and the bride, a well established doctor and socialite. All the big names in both the industries had arrived from all over the world to witness their union. Back in his hotel suite, Daniel was fidgeting with his cufflinks in anticipation and nervousness. Today was the day the love of his life would become his, truly. ****************** Kisses Pov When the veil was finally placed over my face, the back of it pinned to my hair with a crystal hair pin I let out a breathe I had been holding in for quite some time. Kylie was yelling at the wedding planner to make minute changes over the phone to the decorations while the poor woman who was overlooking thing
After 4 years Kisses POV Finally, I have already finished college and have my own degree as a veterinarian. I am so happy that, despite the circumstances in life, I was still able to make my dream come true. My entire journey in college is not easy. It is like I’m on a roller coaster ride. Being far from my relatives and especially Daniel, is like I’ve been surviving. Daniel visits and sleeps in my condo once a week if he doesn’t have practice football. Despite all the hardships I have encountered, I am still thankful that there are people willing to extend their hand for help. Tomorrow is the day I have been waiting for. I am excited about having my diploma. I need to have beauty rest for tomorrow’s special event in my life. I wake up with a smile on my face. I feel mixed emotions: happy and sad. I am happy that my relatives and friends will be present on my special day. Sad because my parents will not be there. But still, I need to have happy vibes for my day. I quickly get a show
~Daniel’s P.O.V~ Kisses leaves for school in a couple of days and to say I’m devastated would be an understatement. She hasn’t left my house unless it was for work or with me. I want to do something special for her today. I’m going to invite everyone over as a last little party to end the summer and get her a couple of things. I just finished my workout, Kisses is still passed out in bed. I get a couple of things together in the kitchen and prepare a small breakfast for her. She hasn’t been sleeping great. I’ve tried to talk to her about it but she just denies it. I know that she’s been having her night terrors. I think it’s stress-induced. I cut up some fruit and made a little platter, mixing some pancake batter together. I drop a couple of chocolate chips in them and let them cook. Once the food is all done I brew a cup of coffee and bring the food upstairs. Much to my surprise, Kisses is rubbing her eyes, the comforter covering her body. “Good morning, baby” I kiss her foreh
Last night was eventful if you know what I mean. Daniel has been a bit out of hand lately because I’m leaving for school soon. Speaking of school, I still haven’t packed yet. I don’t want to pack yet. I’m excited about school but not the location. It’s so far from Daniel. I grab my phone, checking the time to see that I have to get ready for work. I’m only working half a shift today, maybe then I’ll have time to pack. I slowly get out of bed, careful not to wake Daniel up. I ruffle through my bag, wanting to put some pants on. “Mm, I can’t wait to wake up to this every morning one day” A raspy voice comes from behind me. “Oh shush” I laugh, shaking my head. “It’s actually been a sort of dream I’ve had since I was little. My wife and I cooking breakfast in the morning. Me in a pair of sweatpants, you in my oversized t-shirt with a cute messy bun and no makeup” He smiles, his eyes tired. “Go back to bed” I shake my head, walking into his bathroom to change and get ready. When I
Today was the worst. Daniel had practice all day and I had to work all day. We were both so busy and I can’t even see him tonight. My phone sounds telling me I have a new text. Daniel: Baby Me: Daniel. Hey, what’s up? Daniel: I love you so f?cking much Me: I love you too hun. Is everything okay? Daniel: Nope Me: What’s going on? Daniel: Gotta go. Kisses I stare at my phone, confusion covering my face. I quickly dial Daniel’s number. It goes straight to voicemail. “Cody, I’m going to Daniel” I grab my keys, water, wallet, and phone charger and rush out the door. On my way I call Kylie, her voicemail greeting me. I get even more worried. Kylie always answers everyone right away. I hesitate to go faster than the speed limit, images of what happened last time flash through my brain. I ignore them, seeing the huge hill that leads to Daniel’s house. Soon enough I pull up to the house, rushing out to see a single car in the driveway. The house is silent except for the silent h
