CHAPTER 14 : ALLIES

Kira kept pondering the thought.

"I always thought I was different or rather weird. Yes, that should be the right word, weird. Not ever going through heat cycles as an Omega, even after I reached eighteen years, nothing changed," she said to herself and hummed, still pondering.

"Well in a way, it's good", she finally concluded and gave in, "At least I know I'm normal and can go through heat cycles now," She relaxed her head.

"That definitely does not mean I asked for this, I am sure I could have figured it out on my own anyway", she said immediately, looking up. That message was absolutely for the one above, the one who is responsible for their creation.

"Was not even worried about it before, which made me forget that there is a possibility I could get into heat since it never happened, and it just had to happen exactly when those two were there…tsk."

"And then what we did afterward...", Kira trailed off a bit at that part. She had totally forgotten what had happened while she was in heat because of the whole choking and all.

She sat up with so much force that it nearly made her headache, "Oh Goddess", she covered her mouth with her hand, "What have I done? Why… I-", she blinked and removed her hand from her mouth.

"How could I let them do that?", she scolded herself, regretting every bit of it already, "Most importantly, how could I enjoy it?"

Some scenes kept playing in her head again and again, reminding her of how she snuggled up with them, yearned for their touch, making her shiver in disgust, "What is actually wrong with me?", she questioned herself, falling face-first onto the bed, "Have I gone mad??", she muttered, her words muffled by the mattress.

She thrashed about, her legs kicking out in annoyance, before finally raising her head and staring blankly at the wall. 

With a deep sigh, she blew her scattered and tangled hair out of her face, as she kept staring at that wall with a mixture of anger and desperation.

Her stare could almost make the wall shiver. It was like she could bore a hole through the wall.

When she was finally done with her whole staring contest with the wall, she sat back up, smoothed her hair and let out a breath. 

That feeling when you feel so upset when you can't leave or do whatever you want, when you feel like a prisoner and just need to escape. That was precisely what Kira was feeling at the moment.

Her mind raced for a plan.

Any loophole at all that could aid her escape.

Meanwhile, unbeknownst to Kira, her Alpha twin mates had other things planned to keep her with them, regardless of what it would take.

After they left Kira to sleep in her room, they went to their office. They definitely had some pack work to attend to but have been a bit distracted since they found Kira and brought her back.

Their office is located on the upper floor of their mansion, at the end of a long corridor with heavy wooden doors. Alpha Bryan Tyrell and Alpha Aiden Tyrell both shared the same office.

It was their decision to make, and were satisfied with it that way.

A large arched window was behind their desks. It offered a view of the pack's territory. Another great reason why their office was perfect for them.

Two large desks sat side by side in the center of the room, crafted from polished mahogany. And there was another space in the office that had a meeting table and chairs. The office was indeed very spacious and somewhat domineering.

Their chairs gave off rich and high quality, also high-backed and made of leather. The walls lined with bookshelves filled with ancient tomes, a few weapons displayed on racks, and a map of their territory that hung prominently.

As Aiden and Bryan approached their desks, they moved with a synchronized grace, each taking his place on their seat. Bryan leaned back, hands steepled, while Aiden leaned forward, his eyes fixed on the map of their territory.

"We are expecting a guest, right?", Bryan asked his Aiden.

"Indeed we are," Aiden answered while checking his time, "The guest better be on time, we have things to do."

Bryan turned and looked at Aiden with a raised brow and asked, "Things like what?"

"You will know soon enough," Aiden answered with a mischievous small, "When we are done here."

Bryan gave him a suspicious look that said, "How much I hate that face you are giving to me."

Bryan knew his brother just as much as Aiden knew him very well, but Aiden tends to be erratic sporadically.

Soon a knock was heard on the door.

"Yes?", Aiden answered, while Bryan flipped through some paperwork.

A guard opened the door and stepped in, "Alphas", he bowed and looked back up, "Your guest has arrived."

"Escort him in", Aiden gave the order, and the guard left.

As Bryan sifted through a pile of documents, his brow furrowed in concentration.

"The rogues have been getting bolder along the northern border, I have no idea where they are getting such audacity from", Aidan began as he traced a line on the map in front of him with his finger. "If we don't tighten our defenses, we are asking for trouble."

Bryan nodded, flipping through a few pages of the latest patrol reports, "We will need to increase our patrols then, but we cannot stretch out forces too thin. If we coordinate with our ally, then I suppose we can set up a joint patrol schedule. Cover more ground without exhausting our wolves."

Aiden pulled out an older agreement from the stack, the paper yellowed at the edges as he nodded his head in agreement.

"This was our last defense pact. We will need to update it, especially if we are going with the new territory adjustments."

Aiden picked up a pen and began making notes in the margin of the agreement, "We will start with the patrols. Make emphasis on the importance of quick communication and mutual support in case of an attack."

"And if he is on board…", Bryan continued, "We can move to securing the borders with shared outposts."

 

Aiden glanced at Bryan, and nodded, "Let's make sure we are clear about the benefits."

"Exactly," Bryan agreed, "This strategy will work best if we are all committed."

Bryan began gathering the papers into a neat stack, "We will lay it all out when he gets here. If he is as concerned about the rogues as we are, he will see the value in this."

"He will agree. He has to", Aiden smirked with confidence and let his finger trace the map once more.

In no time, a short knock came. The door to their office opened and in came the Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack.
