After the drama of last night, I was ready for work in the morning but I had to go to the hospital first to treat my wounds and have them bandaged.
Camila and Logan were both ready, and she promised to drop me off at the hospital first, and then I would take a cab to the school.
When we got out of the house I noticed the building gate opposite mine was open. I mean I remember seeing some men putting some things in it but I had no idea someone had packed in.
“Mummy, let us go. What are you waiting for?”
Logan pulled my skirt and I flinched because I was deep in thought about my new neighbor. It has always been a quiet neighborhood so I don't want a troublesome person ruining it.
“Fine, and why are you so eager to go today, Logan?”
I asked him and he just smirked. He wore his sportswear so I remembered it was sporty in his school. I was always more than grateful that Camila teaches in his school. She always watched over him.
Before we got into the car I saw I knew. AXELL?!! Is that him?!!! I was shocked and unable to move. I stood by the door of the car and just stared in shock. I wasn't sure if he was the one or not because I slightly saw him by the gate.
“Girl, if you keep on delaying us I swear I will leave you here”
Camila said loudly from the driver’s seat. I bent my head and stared at her face. She had her sportswear on top. ‘Teachers Sportswear’ is exactly what she calls it.
I got into the car but I still kept staring through the window to see if I would see him but no one came out of the house.
I scoffed and then tightened my jaw. More than anything I don't want that man to stay anywhere close to him. It was more than enough that he owns the school I teach at but that is it! He can't be everywhere around me! A man who doesn't respect a woman! I was still putting on an angry look, and Camila noticed.
“You look like a kid who got something stolen from them. Are you good? Logan, stop making noises with your shoes. I will collect it right now if you continue!”
She exclaimed to Logan, then I turned to the backseat and smiled at him, and he did too. I pulled him from the backseat and placed him on my thighs. He rested his head on my chest and I caressed his hair.
“Avery, are you okay? What is wrong with you, girl?”
“Just here and there. Things are beginning to look funny”
“You are yet to explain to me how on earth you got those bruises, why?”
“I will, I promise. You just focus on your sports day today and you both have fun, okay? Do not forget to come pick me up after school, huh?”
Camila nodded her head then she patted my cheeks and we laughed.
When we got to the hospital I hugged Logan and he kissed my cheeks. He had long black hair which easily gets scattered all over his face, but was also very beautiful.
I shook Camila’s hand and I waved at them as they left.
It was the city hospital so it should not be hard to get a doctor to nurse to attend to me. I could have easily done it myself but I had no idea my first Aid kit was empty! Such clumsiness! How could I have forgotten, right? That was what I also thought last night. I limped into the building and I saw a nurse holding a file. I was contemplating whether to meet her or keep searching, but it wouldn't hurt to ask her, right?
I walked over to her and I gave her a warm smile. She had a mole by the side of her lips, so when she smiled back it made her look funny, beautiful but funny.
“What do you want? Do you have an appointment or are you looking for someone?”
“I am looking for a doctor or nurse. I need to attend to these”
I pointed at my bruises and her smile faded away. She had a sharp voice. She sounded confident and sharp, so I was confused about why she glared.
“What happened to you, Madam? What is your name before we begin anything?”
“Avery”
“Mrs Avery, do you have a patient file in this hospital?”
“Ah, it is Miss Avery, and yes I do, but it's been a while since I came here. About what happened to me it is a long story, but trust me I am good I just need some medication and all of that”
I wiggled my hands and she watched them. She smiled faintly then rolled her eyes. She called another nurse and then whispered something in her ear. A cold shiver suddenly went down my spine and I trembled. What was that? And why was the nurse acting all weirdly?
“Excuse me, is something wrong?”
“Miss Avery I am sorry but this right here is a police case. You look like you were jumped upon, so you need to get a police permit to get treated”
Okay, this is madness! A few bruises and I need to get a police permit? Oh, come on!
“Excuse me, nurse. You must be mistaken. This was an accident and I need it treated so I can go back to work, please ma'am”
She stepped away from me and twisted her neck. She continued working on her file and I was left perplexed because how do you just abandon a patient?
Before I could say another word she looked above my head because she was taller. It felt as if she saw GOD walking towards us. Her eyes were focused behind me so I had to turn around too and I saw Axell walking close to us.
