CHAPTER 18: EMMA

"I enjoyed dinner," I say to Liam as we walk on the beach.

The night air is nice, a bit chilly, but I have Liam's jacket, the smell of the sea is so refreshing and nostalgic.

It reminds me of my quiet, low-key days, my walks and reading sessions by the sea back home.

"What was your favorite?" he asks.

"The uh…" I try to think of the name, snapping my fingers to remember "The cha…" I struggle to find the word.

"Chakalaka." he helps,

"Yes." I laugh "That's it. I loved the flavor, the rich blend of the vegetables, meat, the stew was very tasty, and oh, with the bread." I smiled, I enjoyed dinner, and most of the meal was fair. Even though I'm so full now.

Liam made sure I tried everything, no matter how long it took.

"Fair enough." he nods

I stop and take off my shoes, I take them in my hand and sigh in relief as I feel the sand on my feet.

"I love the beach so much. The ocean breeze, the smell of the wind, and the roars of the waves, it's the best feeling in the world." I sigh and shut
