Yanna All my thoughts about surprising Enzo with my pregnancy flies out the window as I rush into our home with a worried looking Sunny hot on my tail. Barging into the office, Enzo’s annoyed face quickly turns into the one of concern as he scans my face. He stands from his seat and rushes over to cup my cheeks. “What’s wrong?” I glance around the room and just noticed the few men that sat at the table for the meeting which had the same mirrored look of shock from my abrupt presence. “The meeting’s over, we’ll continue tomorrow.” Enzo’s deep voice commands. A chubby elderly man frowns deeply. “But-” Enzo sends him a deadly glare which shuts him up and they all scramble to leave the office, leaving just Enzo and I alone. “Tell me what’s wrong?” I could finally release a breath as I wrap my arms around his waist, embracing him tightly which seems to help calming my nerves. I release a shaky breath. “Mathew…” He lifts up my chin. “What the fuck did that asshole do?”

Yanna I squint my eye through the shades that sits on my nose, laser focused at the small white golf ball. Adjusting my stance to be balanced, I tighten my grip on the golf club and swing hard. Alonzo whistles in awe from the golf cart he sat at. The ball zooms through the air and lands on the green lawn just a few meters beside the hole where the red flag was stationed. A smile stretches on my lips. “I’m getting better at this.” “You could be a pro golfer, that’s for sure.” Alonzo complements with a smile. I playfully roll my eyes as I walk over to the golf cart he sat in. “I didn’t like the sport before but now I’m starting to like it.” To my surprise, Alonzo had called for a father and daughter's day and I couldn’t say no because he was at least putting effort to build a better relationship between us. Enzo I end the call with my business partner after a long talk about a contract deal that Yanna would be taking part in for an interior decorating gig, she doesn’t know about this yet but I want to surprise her. Yanna My eyes scan the contract in my hand, it was a contact deal for interior design on a famous apartment complex that was being refurbished. My lawyer looks through with it and decides to alter somethings until we reach an agreement. “Sign here please.” He gestures to a space on the contract. Using a pen, I excitedly sign the contract. “Thank you.” We pack up our contracts and shake hands. “We’re excited to work with you Mrs Bernadi, we’ll keep in touch soon.” I nod with a smile. “Thank you for the offer, when can I take a look at the apartment?” “Our guide will take you through the whole apartment by tomorrow, we’ll send you her contact.” “Okay, thank you.” I and my lawyer proceed to make our way out of the building where Sunny stood waiting for me. Yanna I shiver in fear as I turn around and lock eyes with an unsettling pair of green eyes which intensely stares back at me. Dasha attempts to sit up but groans in pain. “Are you her husband?” I don’t know what came over me to ask such an obvious question. His lips thin out and he raises a brow at me. “Who are you?” I glance at Sunny briefly who stands abruptly. “We were just leaving.” She makes her way to leave but he stretches out his hand to stop her. He eyes her with a sick smirk on his lips. “I know you….don’t you work for Enzo Bernadi?” Shit. I clear my throat, bringing his attention to me in order to save Sunny. “You asked who I was, I’m Mrs Bernadi.” I sate with confidence. Enzo I check the time on my watch, it was still early in the morning but I had leave for work as soon as possible. Walking out of the closet, my eyes immediately lands on the sleeping figure of Yanna. She snores lightly while cuddling with my pillow which makes a small smile to stretch on my lips. Her cotton top had ridden up, exposing her stomach slightly. I walk over to place a kiss on her head and on her exposed stomach before adjusting the covers. She had been busy these days with the new project she had gotten. I mentally beat myself up for giving her a contract while she’s pregnant, I probably should have waited because I hate seeing her exhausted. Work goes by with a few papers to sign, emails to check on and zoom meetings to take and by the afternoon, I’m done with what I need to do fir the day. Yanna A few weeks have gone by with me being occupied by my work which I’m thankful for but my pregnant ass doesn’t like it so much. “Good morning, Mrs Bernadi.” The furniture designer, Mrs Paula greets. I smile and return her handshake. “Mrs Paula.” She shows me the model design that she has ready for production, we speak more on colours, the textures, weight and width of the couches needed while taking down notes. It feels good to be back again, doing what I love and being happy with it even if I’m three months pregnant. She notes down everything and we move over on the tables and cupboards designs needed until we were done with everything. Enzo has been around lately, taking care of me and being overprotective not letting me go down the flights of stairs alone which is why an elevator is currently being built in our home.
