CHAPTER 2: WELCOME TO HALLOW CITY

ON THE NEXT DAY

Kiera's POV

I am now here in my room preparing the things that I will bring to my new place. Mom is so excited that she already scheduled my departure and guess what? Today is the day, she didn’t even give me time to process everything. A lot of things already happen in just a short period of time and it's overwhelming.

I only brought a few things. Some clothes and some important things like the necklace that my grandma gave me, it’s a cross necklace but it can transform into a small knife if I press the button in the middle. I always bring it wherever I go and I treasure this very much.

I also brought my small gun, it's like a normal gun but the size is like half of the normal ones. It also has my name engraved on it. All of us in the family have guns like this with our name it was made only for Shaun's family the mafia royalties.

It only took me half an hour to finish packing I only used one middle-size suitcase, I will just go shopping there when I arrive.

Knock! Knock!.

I was lying in my bed when I heard a knock on the door of my room.

"Come in " I shouted because the door was a little far from my bed.

"Hey Sissy, are you done preparing your things?" Kei, my youngest brother asked while walking towards me.

"Yes, I'm done, why ?" I asked as I sat down to face him.

"Nothing, Just checking if everything is alright." He said while smiling. Oh, my little brother looks worried about me.

My little bro is so sweet and cute. He is only 15 years old. He is taller than me but he has such a baby face and his cheeks are so cute.

"Don't worry, I’m stronger than you " I answered and pinched his cheeks

"Hey, stop that. The breakfast is ready, Mom just told me to call you." He said and left looking annoyed. Tch he must be in the adolescence stage so sensitive.

He hates it every time I pinch his cheeks.

AT THE BREAKFAST HALL

"Good morning Mom " I greeted them as I sat down to eat.

"Is everything ready? Are you done preparing your things?" My mom asked while she was holding her cup of tea.

Really? My mom looks so excited for me to go . or maybe it's just my imagination. Everything is happening so fast and it kind of makes me worried.

I just brushed off the thought and started to eat.

"Yes, I'm ready, where is everybody by the way? I asked because Mom and Kei were the only ones who were there.

"They are on a secret mission, they left before dawn" Kei replied.

I'm jealous, I want to go on a mission too I missed action already.

I guess I will leave without properly saying goodbyes. Whatever, that's fine with me because I hate dramas.

FAST-FORWARD

It's been 5 hours since I left and I'm so bored now 5 hours in the backseat of our family car, my only companion is Mr.Ruiz our family driver for the longest time. I think he has already worked in our family since before I was born.

I didn't want to sleep so I just decided to open the window and appreciate the view. The unfamiliar breeze of the wind that is hitting my face feels so nice and relaxing. Tall grasses are seen on the left side of the road while the bluish ocean is seen on the other side.

I'm starting to like the surroundings when we enter an ark with a sign "Welcome to Hallow City" I don't know if it’s only the cold wind but I felt shivers when we passed that sign.

Tall trees started to welcome us, the sun started to set, and it started to get dark as we traveled the forest-like road. I decided to close the window because all I see now are trees and grasses. The trees are like those trees that you will see in the horror movies. Sheesh little creepy.

I also noticed that I never saw any car or any vehicle when we started to enter Hallow City. Maybe because it’s near nighttime already.

“Miss Kiera” I heard and felt a tap on my shoulder

“We are here “ Mr.Ruiz added as I opened my eyes

I don’t know how many minutes or hours passed because I fell asleep.

“Thanks, uncle,” I said smiling and I got out of the car and saw a vintage-looking house in front of us.

Oddly, it doesn’t have any neighbors.

It’s just a small house compared to our mansion but the style is so unique like the houses in the fairytale.

It looks like a little old but it kind of looks aesthetic so I like it.

Mr Ruiz helped me to unload my luggage. He pressed the doorbell in the small gate.

Ding.Dong

The sound is a little loud and we can also hear it outside.

A few seconds later, a beautiful girl who looked like in her late thirties came out. She looks pretty but she doesn’t have any resemblance to my mom.

I thought they were sisters? Maybe she gets her look from my grandpa because Grandma looks like Mom.

“Oh you are here, Kiera,” She said smiling and welcoming me with a hug.

She sounds so cheerful and full of life total opposite of me I think.

“Hi, Aunt Sheena. Thank you for accepting me in your care “

I replied and I mean it, I'm thankful because I don't know what will happen to me if I don't know anyone around here. Just thinking about it feels awful. I know that I looked like a brat but I hate being alone. Geez Im getting sentimental.

“Mr.Ruiz, do you want to have some food or coffee?”

Aunt Sheena asked our driver.

“Thank you, but I have to go now Miss Sheena, I need to report to my boss”

Is it my dad? But he never called my dad a boss he calls him sir always.

“Take care, especially Kiera”

He added and went inside the car and drove away.

What did he mean by that? I was in a deep thought when Aunt Sheena broke the silence.

“Let’s go inside its getting cold. I’ll show you your room you must be tired from all that travel,” she said and helped me with my luggage.

“Ok Auntie” I replied

We went inside the house, it was made of wood but it looked so sturdy and look so nice. The outside looks vintage but there is a touch of modern style inside, I like it.

There are three rooms, two rooms on the second floor and 1 room on the first floor.

Aunt Sheena let me have the bigger room upstairs while she was staying downstairs. The other room here is a guest room.

My room is not as big as my room in the mansion but it has its own bathroom and it’s big enough for me, not too small just perfect it's better than I expected.

I started to unpack my belongings, even the cabinets here looked so nice the furniture was all made from high-quality wood. I’m starting to like it here, but I still want to go back to our mansion of course.

After arranging my things I went down to the kitchen to get a glass of water.

I saw Aunt Sheena reading a book in the living room. She must really like books because there are a lot of books on the table and a lot of books on the shelves.

“Kiera, what do you want to eat for dinner? “ she asked when she saw me.

“I will just drink coffee and eat some bread Aunt I’m tired I want to sleep early “ I answered and went to the kitchen counter.

“Okay, just don’t be shy to ask me if you need anything, “ she said and continued to read what she was reading.

I want to sleep early because my head is hurting again earlier so I don’t want to eat a lot.

I went upstairs when I was done. I wanted to digest what I ate so I went to the balcony of my room. The breeze is so cold, maybe because there are a lot of tall trees outside.

I don’t know but I feel really weird I feel like someone is staring at me from afar but that will not be possible because we don’t have any neighbors here.

I just brushed off that feeling and looked at the sky instead. The sky is so pretty the stars are so visible unlike in the cities where all I see are buildings and city lights.

I hope my family are all fine back there.

SOMEONE POV

“Alpha, you have a guest,” my butler said in a low voice but enough for me to hear.

“Let him in” I answered as I blew the smoke from my cigarette.

A tall middle-aged man in a suit entered and bowed down to me.

“She arrived safely and staying at Sheena’s house boss”

I’m not surprised because I know that she will be arriving today. I should see her soon.

“Thank you for your hard work, you may go “ I commanded

“ Anything for you, alpha” He bowed down again and left.
