"Your majesty, this human snuck into your house and I'm getting rid of her." Liliana said with a victorious smile on her face, as if she had won the lottery. One minute he was standing by the door way, the next minute he was kneeling beside me. Kayden used his nose to push my head to the side and I tried to smile to reassure him that I was okay, everything was fine. He whimpered and I knew that was a wolves way of crying. "Claire can you hear me?" Jacobi asked worriedly "I'm... I'm okay. You need to get....Kayden out of here" I said "Stop talking, I'm gonna take you to a doctor" he said He knelt down and picked me up in his arms, bridal style. Kayden then shifted into his human form and that was when I saw the tears that were streaming down his face. Like the whole world could be ending but I'll still be okay kind of safe. I snuggled closer into him, taking in his scent that made my stomach turn into a zoo. I closed my eyes and took a breath of relief. ******* When I finally opened my eyes I wasn't in Jacobi's arms anymore. I was in a room, a hospital room. My throat felt so dry like I had been living in the Sahara desert. Memories of what happened earlier came flooding in to my head, making me dizzy as I sat up. "Kayden?" I called out for my son "Your majesty you need to rest" a woman's voice came from behind me "Who are you? Where am I?" I asked looking around me "Your in the royal hospital and I'm Dr. Fiona" she said. "how long was I unconscious?" I said with a groan "Two days your majesty. You had a pretty severe head injury and it was only a miracle that you're alive" she said I could have died? Oh my god! What would have happened to Kayden then? Where is he, I need to see him. "Where is my son?" I asked her "Your son?" She asked "Yes my son" I repeated "His royal majesty didn't bring him" she replied nervously. Did she think that I was lieing?. Why is everyone finding it so hard to believe that I gave birth to Kayden! "I'll inform his majesty that you are awake" she said before walking out and closing the door behind her. A few minutes later she walked back in with Jacobi behind her. "How are you feeling Claire?" He asked me worriedly. I was a little bit surprised by how much he seemed to worry about me, we had only been in each other's company not more than twenty four hours and he already seemed to be showing more concern than my family ever did my entire life. "I feel good. I need to see Kayden, where is our son?" I asked him Fiona gasped the moment I said our son. I ignored her and looked at Jacobi for an answer "He's okay, he really misses you" he said with a smile on his face. It seemed so strange to see him smile but yet it suited him. The way his soft lips parted to let his pearly whit teeth show somehow, made him seem more handsome and less intimidating. "You should smile more often" I said catching myself off guard. He raised an eyebrow in surprise " really?" He looked at me in a certain way that made me think of the night we had first met. When we were busy tangled in each other's arms. I felt a blush slowly creep up my cheeks and I looked away. "Fiona how soon can she be discharged" Jacobi asked "She could be discharged right now if you would like your majesty" she said with a bow. "Then get her discharged" he said. He handed me a duffel bag that I hadn't noticed he was holding. "Get changed, we're going home" Home? I like the sound of that.
