Strength in Unity

Iris and Aiden stood shoulder to shoulder in the middle of the clearing, the tension in the air thick as smoke and oppressive. Overcoming Despair“Iris, this isn’t working!” Aiden yelled; his voice barely heard over the Ravager’s thunderous roar. He stumbled backward, his chest heaving as the huge beast advanced. Its fiery red eyes burned with a strange light, and dark smoke poured from its wounds, binding them together as fast as they were made.“It’s not just a beast,” Iris said, her voice shaking as she took a step back, her gaze locked on the whirling black tentacles. “It’s... it’s connected to Damon’s magic. That’s why it won’t die.”Aiden’s head snapped toward her, his eyes wide with understanding. “Damon? You’re saying he’s running this thing?”“Not directly,” she said, holding her side where a small cut oozed blood. “But his power is feeding the Ravager. Every hit we land only makes it stronger.”Aiden changed back into his human form, his muscles taut with stress. Sweat dripped from his face as he gritted his teeth. “Then how the hell do we stop it?”Iris paused, her mind racing. The mark on her wris

Damon’s army will tear through us if we don’t unite.”“And we’re just supposed to forget that these wolves betrayed their packs?” Marcus snapped, jabbing a finger in the direction of the refugees. The gathering pack muttered in agreement, their wariness obvious. The damaged head of the refugees, a tall figure with a constant sneer, stepped forward. His sharp yellow eyes locked onto Marcus. “Careful, pup,” he said, his voice filled with threat. “We’re not here to make amends. We’re here to kill Damon. Iris’s TransformationThe battlefield was deathly quiet in the wake of the chasm’s fall. Dust and garbage hung in the air, veiling the moonlight. Aiden stumbled to his feet, his legs shaking beneath him. His breath caught when he saw her.Where Iris once stood, a glowing figure now emerged, and her body changed. The mark on her wrist had spread, golden veins spreading out like complex plants over her arms and neck, pulsing with light. Her eyes glowed with an alien brightness, no longer their normal color but a liquid gold, sparkling with raw power.Aiden whispered, “Iris…?”She didn’t immediately reply, her attention locked on the other figure before her.Malric stepped closer, his silver eyes sharpening with wonder. “Fascinating,” he said, his voice low and aggressive. “I didn’t think you capable of such a change. Perhaps there’s more to you than I gave credit for.”Iris tilted her head slightly, her face unclear. When she spoke, her voice carried dual-nondual toners and one filled w

How utterly useless. Bravery like yours is always so entertaining before it ends in despair.”Aiden didn’t move. “Maybe bravery won’t save me. But it’ll buy her time. And that’s all I need.”Iris reached out, grabbing Aiden’s arm in panic. “Aiden, no!” Her voice cracked with a mixture of anger and fear. “You can’t face him alone. We can fight together.
