(ANNIE’S POV) I was glad when I got home and grandma was there. “In here baby.” She yelled and I knew she was calling from the kitchen. I could perceive the aroma of the food and i moaned as it filled my nostrils. I hurried in to the kitchen and there she was with her back turned towards the door as she set the table for lunch. “Hey grandma.” I said smiling and I hurried to give her a hug and to kiss her. She kissed me back. “I did not see you when I was leaving this morning.” I told her. “Yes, did you not see the note I kept for you?” She asked with her eyebrow up and then we both looked towards the fridge and saw the stick it note that grandma left. “I was jumpy when I left.” I admitted to her. Grandma gave me a sympathetic look. “How did your day at school go?” She asked me softly as she set the dish on the table that had the chicken on it. “Not good Grandma.” I said and then I recounted the incident that happened with me and the mean girl in the cafeteria today. I left o
(ANNIE’S POV) Grandma drove us to Roy, the keeper’s house and I felt my hand feel sweaty as she parked the car out front. The house looked like a fairy tale mansion with strong and tall gates. “We are here Annie.” Grandma offered when she saw that I did not bulge. “Oh yeah.” I said. “Are you okay?” She asked me. I sighed but I nodded at her. I just felt nervous. I felt nervous about whoever we were going to meet here. Especially the kids Grandma said he had. I hoped that it was not some mean kids from school. Grandma and I walked to the front door and she rang the bell while we waited patiently. Not king after that, a beautiful woman who has beautiful blonde hair and grey eyes opened the door. Her face turned even more beautiful as she smiled. “Please do come in.” She said and she and Grandma hugged each other. “Hy, you must be Annie.” The pretty woman said and i nodded and gave her soft hand a handshake. “I’m Ama.” She said to me. There was a serenity that the house gave me
(ANNIE’S POV) The next day at school, I was surprised to see that Jessica was waiting for me at the entrance. It warmed my heart and made me more confident. “Hy. Good morning.” She said and she hooked her arm in to mine as we both headed in to the school. And from then on, it was nice. The day even went by faster than usual. Jessica was being really nice to me by escorting me to the classes that we did not share and being even nicer by picking me up. “So they don’t know?” I asked her in a whisper when it was time for lunch break. “They don’t know. Of course except for Janelle. She is very likely to know because her father is the richest wolf in Silverwoods. He is very influential so he will hear news of the chosen one . Their family has been very rich for generations.” She said and then she added with a shy smile. “Just like mine.” I nodded at her. Then I said “just to clear things up, Janelle is the girl who was a bitch to me yesterday right?” I said Jessica laughed hard at
(ANNIE’S POV) My day at school actually went well and it was all thanks to Jessica. She walked me home and I was very happy when I waved goodbye and went home. “You look very happy.” Grandma greeted me as I walked through the door. “Hy Grandma.” I greeted her with a hug and kissed her cheeks. “How was your day?” She asked me. “It was good. A lot of thanks to Jessica.” I said feeling happy but then my enthusiasm dropped as I realized that grandma had a strange expression on her face. “What’s wrong, grandma?” I asked her. “Oh. Nothing.” She said to me with an uncomfortable chuckle. And just when I was about to prod her on, I noticed someone in the living room. It was Kelt, one of the keepers . “Hello Annie. How are you?” He asked me. “Hy. I’m doing fine.” I replied him. I did not need to be told that there was something wrong. That had to be the reason why he was here. I turned to grandma in suspicion and I caught her exchange a look with Kelt. “Is something wron
(ANNIE’S POV)The keepers had their eyes on me and I tried my best not to feel intimidated by the hard stares I was getting. But when I looked at Kelt, he broke his gaze away from me and I could not help the part of me that felt very uncomfortable about it all . That just made me feel like some kind of negative decision had been made.Terra cleared her throat and I knew that she was about to say something. “Annie, it was really good to hear you step up and agree to take your responsibility . But I am sorry to tell you that the keepers have come to a unanimous decision.” Terra started saying and the moment she apologized, I knew that the decision was not nice. I held my breath and I knew that grandma was holding her breath as well.“I am sorry but we can not let you to take on the responsibility of being the chosen one. We have to relieve you of it.” She said.I heard grandma gasp from behind me and even though I had an idea of what Terra meant by what she had just said, I needed mo
(ANNIE’S POV) When I woke up, I felt a little weighed down to think of the keepers decision but then I put it aside and decided to get ready for my day at school. As I came downstairs from my room, i was geeeted with a nice aroma of delicious food. I went in to the dining room to see that grandma was set a very full and wonderful looking table. There were omelettes, spicy roast, vegetables, fruit juices and a fruit bowl on the table. “Good morning my baby.” Grandma said to me as she looked up from setting the table when she noticed that I had come in. I looked around in a lot of surprise . “Good morning Grandma. This smells so good. What is going on? My birthday is not until about seven weeks at most.” I said laughing. “And when that comes, we will celebrate you in an even grander style.” She said with a beam. I walked to her to give her a kiss on her cheek and she held my face with both of her hands. “I just want you to know how proud I am of you. Despite what the k
(ANNIE’S POV)I felt the panic grow more in me as I realized the reason why I was getting so much stares from everyone around me. They were whispering to each other and looking as they walked back and I could not even tell how they felt about it. I started to feel very uncomfortable and I wished that the ground could open up and just swallow me. “Oh no.” I said feeling a lot of anxiety as I stood in the middle of the chaos. “This is not okay. Maybe I should just go back and stay at home today .” I suggested as my confidence level dropped.“No you should not.” Jessica said to me in a stern tone. “You will be fine, okay? Don’t mind them. It doesn’t matter what they say or what they are thinking.” I did not feel good at all and so I shook my head at her. “I don’t know if I can go through this Jessica. It’s just the early hours of the day and already I wish I could disappear in to thin air.” I explained to her. “ I just feel I don’t think they want me here.” I said giving another glan
(ANNIE’S POV) As the rest of the day went by, I learned to appreciate what Seth’s presence brought to me. He was there all the time and he sat beside me through all the classes. Even the teachers seemed distracted by my presence and though that did not help matters, Seth made sure that he was there for me and he noticed me each time that I began to feel uncomfortable. He would hold my hand and smile at me. To be honest, those smal moments were the highlight of my day. I had no idea how I was going to go through the day without him being around. When lunch came, he was still walking to the cafeteria with me until someone shocked me by throwing an arm around my shoulder. Even Seth was shocked and when we both turned to see that it was Jessica, he rolled his eyes. “What a great entrance Jessica. Really, well done .” He said to her in a dry tone. She scoffed at him. “What exactly is your problem uncle grumps?” She asked “You scared Annie.” Seth said in a straight tone and sh
