CHAPTER 22
They went to a different place to eat their launch. Tyler wouldn't want any of Rhyan's people to see him and Aubrey eating together. He just wanted to eat and spend time with Aubrey peacefully and knowing Rhyan's personality, things wouldn't end well if Rhyan caught them together.
When they reached the restaurant, Tyler immediately ordered food for them to eat. Though Aubrey planned to make a fool out of Tyler, she couldn't help but feel uncomfortable when everything Tyler ordered, was her favorite dishes.
They were talking and laughing as they were eating. The whole time, Aubrey felt disgusted at Tyler's smiling face that she struggles to swallow the food in her mouth. When Aubrey arrived at their house, the maid told her to go directly to Rhyan’s study as he instructed so she did. Fiona drove her car to Tyler's company and forgot what she has promised him. On the beach when Tyler told her to leave him, she said she wouldn't show her face in front of Tyler for a month. Tyler immediately opened the envelope when he entered his room. His face loomed when he saw what it is. In his hands, he's holding a picture of Aubrey and Rhyan fighting. Of course, the picture includes Rhyan grabbing Aubrey's arms harshly and slapping her face.Tyler's blood boiled upon seeing the picture."How dare you hurt her, Rhyan! I'll make sure you pay for it no matter what! I'll take her back to where she belongs!" Tyler said through gritted teeth as he stares at the pictures on his hands.But then he remembered what he did to Aubrey five years ago. What Rhyan did cannot be compared to how he treated Aubrey. "Uhm..." Rhyan groaned as he wakes up. He looks exhausted and his head is throbbing due to a hangover. He remembered everything that has happened last night. He feels bad for Aubrey as it was not his intention to hurt her, but he ended up doing so. He turned to look at the other side of the bed as he was facing the other hoping to see Aubrey sleeping soundly. But, contrary to his wishes, Aubrey is not there. He started to panic and immediately went to the bathroom to check, but she's not there too. He rushed outside of the room and looked for their maid, Linda. He saw her cleaning in the kitchen and immediately ran towards her. "Where's Aubrey?" He asked Linda grabbing her arms. Linda gasped in surprise, she hadn't seen Rhyan coming her way. TWO DAYS LATER, Rhyan was sitting in his study when the doorbell rang. His servant immediately went to see who it was and saw a package outside the gate. The maid had no idea what to do about the package so she went to inform Rhyan about the unknown package. "Sir, there's a package outside the gate... Nothing's written on the box, so I don't know who it is from and whom to give it to. What should I do about it?" The maid asked cautiously. Her name is Marin, Linda's friend. They started working on the same day and they're the same age so they get along pretty well. She was there when Linda was dragged outside but she's too powerless she couldn't help her at all. After witnessing what happened to Linda, Marin made sure to act as cautious as possible around Rhyan. She made sure to perform her job better even without any eyes watching. "Thank god we left the house earlier. Had we left a minute later we would have been caught." "You can count on me, I will help you to the best of my ability," Tyler said as he hugs Aubrey. Aubrey let herself cry in Tyler's arms. It has been so long since they've been this intimate with each other and Tyler utterly broke Aubrey five years ago but their connection with each other remains. Aubrey too has no idea why, but she feels safe in Tyler's embrace. Though she no longer hates him, she can't forgive him either. But still, with him by her side, she feels like she could loosen her guard down for a while and let herself free from all the accumulated pain weighing in her heart. "We found her!" Said the man with a black suit behind the tree with his phone on his ears. "Bring her to me," Rhyan said from the other line of the call. "Got it!" The man in a black suit answered and slowly walked out behind the tree. Tyler and Aubrey were utterly shocked to see a bulky man before them, not just one but there are three more behind him.
