An Attacked In The Camp

A pain of emotion swam around my stomach. I woke just before the moon made its final journey across the sky, and the sun took its turn to rise.

I knew Fredrick was already awake by the way his breathing sounded.

I lifted my head upwards and our eyes locked

He was filled with love and a hidden emotional fear; I leaned in and kissed him gently.

"Please come back to me, Freddy, please", I whispered.

He used his hand to caress my back, "I will always come back to you, Molly."

The men packed supplies into a huge truck as they prepared to set out for Eldrador.

They would take a private plane to a nearby town and sneak into the meeting after the council arrived the next day.

I helped them pack blood bags and made sure he had a clean pair of clothes.

He laughed at me as my eyes turned red, but I did not care.

I felt tears roll down my cheeks when he got into the truck.

His arms reached down and pulled my body up, snuggling me into his lap.
