Naomi's heart has never been any lighter now than it had been in the last frustrating 10 months.

She felt alive and could wear a genuine smile that came to stay since the day she received a trial invitation to style the International music maker Shorty Black.

Someone she admired all through her stay in Fashion College, as the students usually shortened.

She got to her duty post early enough, the almighty Divinity Fashion House- DV, her dream came true after the first got shattered by some powerful drunk man.

She smirked when a thought of the suddenly nice Damian crossed his mind. She felt the touch of guilt and anger. Guilty for being the reason he lost the contract, and angry that he shattered her first-ever fashion mall.

Her shoulders shrugged, and so did her thoughts as She walked in cat-style, swaying her hips from side to side with a reason to smile again.

“Hi, Miss.” The receptionist greeted me with glinting eyes and a beaming smile on her face.

She tried masking the surprise with a smile when she heard voices approaching, but her lips now felt like lifting a heavy weight each time she tried spreading them.Quickly, she clicked the ‘close’ button on the screen and made for the window that was three steps from where she stood, stunned. Her gaze met the sky, not blue, but dark, heavy and damp like it was about to cry water on earth. Naomi had gotten dressed, and ready for the move, regardless of how she was feeling. The only thing that sprang a laugh on her face was the moment she realised the last district bus was about to leave. She ran to meet up, only to meet an old woman in her late 70s cursing the driver and calling him names until she mentioned, “This is how you rush in and rush out. The pen hovered over the last signature line.Naomi’s fingers trembled while she forced herself to press the ink onto the page, the final step in dissolving five years of marriage. Across the brown mahogany table, Ethan Carter sat still, his sharp jaw clenched with his eyes locked on hers with an intensity that made her pulse quicken. She tried to ignore the way his expensive cologne still sent a shiver down her spine. She also tried to forget the countless nights she had spent in his arms, tangled in silk sheets, legs spread across his body, whispering promises that had all crumbled to dust. The lawyer cleared his throat. "Ern ern, Mrs. Bennett…" He corrected himself. "Miss Bennett. Just the last page now." He said.Naomi exhaled sharply. It’s just a signature. Just ink on paper. But as she signed her name, she couldn’t ignore the way it felt, like carving a wound so deep it might never heal. Did she still love him?As she slid the document across the table to Ethan, he took it witho

The morning after should have felt different.Sunlight filtered through the massive windows of Ethan’s penthouse office, casting golden streaks across Naomi’s bare skin. She stirred, muscles aching deliciously from the night before, she still had the remnants of their passion still humming in her veins. They had been together throughout the previous day, ever since the lawyer had gone. She wasn’t his wife anymore. She was supposed to walk away. She thought.Ethan was already awake too, leaning against the edge of his desk, fully dressed except for his loosened tie. His gaze raked over her, unreadable and intense, like he was committing every inch of her to memory and to the memory of the previous night.Naomi pulled the sheet higher over her chest. “You’re staring.“ She said…He smirked, a slow, knowing curve of his lips. “So are you.”She scoffed, rolling her eyes as she sat up. “Last night was a mistake.”Ethan’s expression darkened. “Is that what you tell yourself every time?”Eve

Naomi barely felt the elevator descend. Her pulse thundered louder than the hum of the machinery, her thoughts a chaotic mess of regret, confused desire, and passion to get more, she had to control herself. Whoever made women inferior. She had meant to walk away and be done for good. But her body still ached for Ethan’s touch, her skin still burned where his fingers had lingered. Worse, her heart still wanted him. What does one do when the spirit is willing, but the heart does not wish to let go?The doors slid open, revealing the sleek marble lobby of Carter Enterprises. Naomi forced herself to step forward, past the knowing glances of the receptionists who had seen her come and go too many times before. As she pushed through the glass doors into the crisp morning air, her phone buzzed twice. She pulled it out, expecting a message from Ethan. Naomi’s fingers tightened around the phone. A chill slithered down her spine, but she forced herself to stay still, to not betray the fear racing through her veins.“What do you want, Damian?” she asked, keeping her voice level, even as her pulse hammered wildly in her chest.“You, Naomi.” His voice was a whisper of steel, just as always. “I want you to remember who you belong to.”Her stomach twisted. “I don’t belong to anyone.”A low chuckle. “That’s where you’re wrong, darling.”The call disconnected.“Pom Pom Pom”, came the sound of the disconnectionShe stood frozen for a moment, her skin crawling, Damian’s possessiveness suffocating. Then, she did the only thing she could and wanted, she called Ethan back. She wanted to feel even.He answered immediately. “Naomi?”Her voice came out in a whisper. “I need to see you, I’m weak.” She said.Ethan’s penthouse was exactly as she remembered, dark wood, glass walls overlooking the city, and the lingering scent of him, smoky, masculine,

Wake up, bitch, there's more to life than love and sex! Argh!”A curt thud meddled with the air as he landed his last word, causing his teeth to restrain the anger that accompanied his words. He had pinned Natasha's hands to the wall with his powerful grip whilst his right clenched fist rested against the wall a few inches away from Natasha’s ear.His chest kept panting faster than his breath. His eyes went blank and anger was definitely reading loud in them.Natasha? Relax. Undisturbed. Each day in the past 9 months only felt like a day after forever. Never did a day pass without the brewing conflict shooting through her mind with a deep torture of guilt, pioneered by her own greed to have both chocolate and vanilla. The report files strongly suggested that the baby had died, weeks before she was captured and left to die in a deep pool of water. And the cause? Her!“I did not kill my child, Ethan, I did not.” she echoed beneath her breath, lost in her spiral thoughts. She could barely see a soul in the room aside from Ethan. An invisible Ethan. “Is everything okay, ma'am?”Consciousness took a flash trip back to her body, which looked electrocuted, causing her to jerk steadily, just enough to shake off the suspicion that things weren't going well.“Oh. Oh.. uh.. I am very fine.” She stuttered flickering her eyes about the client's face and away, observing if any other person was watching. She raised her head, pulled her shirt together, and stole a smile that did n

These are the reports and highlights of the last meeting Natasha filled up on your behalf; our top investors and shareholders are threatening to withdraw from the company if the exponential growth of their investments doesn't come in handy.”Rex stretched a blue cover file to Damian who was buried in his office chair, rocking it from side to side, running his palm to and fro around his jaw lines, drawing an invisible pattern.“Drop it on the table.” He directed with a calm soothing voice. One could tell he wasn’t fine. But his body language and facial expression had told a different story.“uhm. Sir. I made findings about Naomi.”“Okay?” He barked, seeming uninterested in the topic, raised. But his blood pumped to the radar on hearing the name, ‘Naomi’ from Rex, so raw, without initials attached like he used to. He swallowed the remaining words that had made their way to his gut. She let out a loud cry. “Have you planned your funeral yet, Aunt?” Damian reminded her of the consequences of raising her blood pressure again with this petty attitude she exuded.****Her exams have been smoothed, at least, she can rest her mind a bit. Just a bit because her last encounter with Ethan did things to her that she can not explain. She had just returned from the market, alone, now seated on her bed lost in her thoughts, hoping for a miracle and a suitable hug.
