He looked like he didn’t want to and I regretted saying it immediately.

“It’s fine if you don’t want to. I can go myself.” I quickly said and he frowned.

“Hell no. How can I let you go alone? What time is it?”

“It should be starting from 1 pm.”

“Alright then. We will leave by 2.”

A smile came up to my lips and I nodded slowly. He left my room and I shrugged off the odd feeling in my stomach.

“What’s going on with you Emily?” I asked myself and laughed again. Wasn’t I the one just bawling my eyes out because of Dave?

I went straight to bed after that.

The next morning, I was woken up by a knock on my door. “Come in. Who is that?” I asked in a sleepy voice and a maid stepped inside with a tray of my breakfast.

“Mr Dante asked me to bring it to you. He also said it's almost 12 and you wouldn’t want to miss what you asked him of yesterday.” She said and placed the breakfast on the table.

I looked at the time on my phone and screamed. I slept in so long.

“Thank you….”

“Nika.” She said her name and I smiled.

She looked like she was in her sixties. “Thank you ma’am Nika.”

“Oh dear. You can call me Nika. You are the lady of this house after all.” She smiled and I nodded.

She left the room and I hurried and took my shower. I wondered what to wear after I walked into my closet. My phone pinged with a notification and it was from an unknown number.

“This is what I am wearing just in case.” The text read with an outfit picture.

It was from Dante and I chuckled. “Cute,” I said to myself and my eyes widened.

What am I even saying? I am crazy today.

He was wearing Jeans with a navy blue shirt. Casual outfit. I looked around my wardrobe that have been filled up with new clothes since I came here.

I wore a short navy blue gown after searching for so long and left my room after checking the time.

“You look good.” Luciana’s voice said from afar and I saw her at the bottom of the stairs.

“Thanks, Luci.”

“You can call me a mother. It’s high time we get comfortable with each other. Don’t you think so?” She smiled warmly at me.

“That’s right.”

I scented his cologne before looking up and I saw Dante walking towards me. He looked breathtaking.

How didn’t I notice it since we got married? I was filled with hate about the situation we found ourselves in.

“You both are going on a date, right? Enjoy yourself newlyweds. You might as well plan your honeymoon.” His mum gushed and I closed my eyes.

“It’s not a date Luciana. He is just accompanying me.”

“But we are married. Isn’t that a date then?” I felt his breath on my neck and I stiffened.

“What are you doing?” I whispered and was about to step back but he held my waist and his mum screamed in joy.

“Now this is what I love seeing.” She laughed and took a picture.

I groaned inwardly and pushed his hands off my waist and walked down to the living room.

James, the butler came forward with the car key and Dante took it from him. “Let’s go.” He called for me and walked out together.

“You both should have a lovely date!” Luciana shouted and I groaned more.

“You hate the sound of a date so much?” He asked me.

“Let’s not make things awkward and just enjoy the day. No need for questions.” I said curtly as we got into the car.

The ride was more silent than I thought and I had to put my face closer to the window to be able to breathe properly.

“You are such a child,” I told him.

“What do you mean by that?”

“I can’t believe you are giving me the silent treatment because I said you shouldn’t ask questions.” I rolled my eyes.

“I gave you what you wanted Emily.” My name rolled off his tongue and I got distracted.

“Emily?” He waved his hand in front of my face and I moved away.

“Don’t do that.”

“Your face is turning red. Are you feeling hot?” He touched my forehead and I started coughing.

“You are so fragile.” He brought out water with one hand and passed it to me.

I looked away from him and took a gulp.

I held my cheeks with my hand and sighed. Why was I feeling things that I hadn’t felt before? My cheeks were flushed, and my heart can’t contain the way he was also staring.

“I am sick,” I concluded.

The window on my side was knocked and I jumped. “Aren’t you coming down?” Dante asked and opened the door.

I didn’t even notice when we got to the art museum. He held my hand and assisted me out.

“We might have eyes on us so just play along.” He said and held my waist.

We got into the museum and I looked at him. “You don’t like things like this right?”

“Yes, but you asked me to come.” He said casually and I cleared my throat.

“Are you feeling sick? We can go to the hospital right away.” He held my wrist and checked my pulse.

“I’m fine.”

“We can head to eat after this. You look too skinny.” He looked at my body and I felt so conscious all of a sudden.

“I am not skinny.” I frowned.

“You don’t eat properly and you don’t even finish the little food given to you. I have to watch you eat myself.” He noted to himself and I bit back a smile

“I didn’t expect to see Mr Dante De Luca in this kind of place.” A rough voice said beside us and I shivered.

Dante’s mood immediately switched and he turned to the man.

“Eduardo.”

I have heard that name before…
