Hello Readers, one more chapter is on its way.
*MIKAYLA’S POV* “Shoo!” I chased away the chipmunk from the kitchen and closed the window. The pesky rodent has been trespassing around the cottage. My mission is to find its nest and relocate it. The feisty creature likes to chatter back at me and is rather vocal with its chirping, squeaking, and trilling. Like it was a resident that had a say in the boarding situation. The front door was flung open and the murderous aura plummeted through the house. At first, I thought about fleeing, but then I recognized that it was not Heron. He’s been mad at me all day for slapping some sense into him. Deservingly, I should have done worse, but a hit from me would be like a baby slap. He had no right, and I mean absolutely no right, to use me like a toy to get rid of that Alpha Female. She was a 5’7 belle, almost model-like. I admired her shoulder-length straight dirty blonde hairstyle. Any man in his right mind would undoubtedly want to spend time with such a gorgeous beauty. I believed that
*MIKAYLA'S POV* Alpha Hudson and I agreed in being against Heron's preposterous announcement. I’m convinced that the young alpha was losing some screws. Maybe I slapped him too hard so that instead of senses going in, I actually knocked some out. Had I known, I would have picked them up from the floor and shoved his senses back into his thick cranium. No, no, no, no. I want to throw the hot pot of lamb at him. Alpha Hudson paced the floor back and forth as his wrath swelled like a balloon, ready to pop. He made a loud, hulk-like exhalation. His right hand clenched in the air. Heron mockingly smirked at me with a dark expression as he tells his father, "You said to choose a Luna, father." He takes note of his father's puffing, "Mikayla is my final choice. It's her or no one." "Instead of choosing a perfectly suitable Alpha Female who is ready to throw herself at your feet, you would rather have a weak pathetic Omega?" Alpha Hudson continued his pacing, calculating his son's obstin
*MIKAYLA’S POV* “Fuck you, Heron!” Not giving a damn about my insubordination, I ran to my room, crying. Slamming the door shut, I threw myself into the bed and succumbed to the woeful weeping of my heart. He creeps into my head, “Don’t forget that you owe me and I’m cashing in. It’s payback, sweetheart. The debt will only be settled when you belong to me. You are mine now, Mikayla, Baby.” Attempting to block him out, he smashes the barricades in my brain. Concreting the pillars of my will, I muffled a scream into the pillow. “Do you remember our night in the forest? I do.” Memories of us naked, kissing, and all that other bawdy shit projected into my mental vision. He did it for a while and then stopped. “I can smell your arousal from here.” With the devil’s horn on his head, a devious chuckle sprouted on his handsome poker face. I hate him. Uff! I want to slap him again. “I can’t wait to be fucking you hard.” Heron’s sultry tone seeps in deeper with a superfluity of us making
*TYR'S POV* "You fucked that up!" I blasted at Heron after Mikayla ran into her bedroom, slamming her door shut. "Did we?" He asked in annoyance. "You wanted Mikayla and you'll get to have her now." Heron referred to the earlier dispute with our father and the agreement to mark Mikayla in seven days. My tolerance for the situation was running thin. "Yes, but you made her angry with us." I grumbled, "You were to make her want us, not scare her away." Heron wheels into the elevator. Once in his bedroom, he bathed in the tub, getting ready for bed. “We could have marked her tonight if you played your cards right.” I sputtered, pacing in his head. Right now I was in a nasty mood to use my claws on him, if I could. The forced sigh that I released through my pursed lips, produced a helicopter-like sound effect. Humans can be so damn incapable. This was not what we talked about. Mikayla was to be seduced so that we could ravish her body with pleasure. She would be our erotic zone so
*MIKAYLA’S POV* “Heron!” I woke up calling his name. The despicable Alpha who was wrapping me up in his mind games with the pack and his parents. Now he’s on my mind, but not for good reasons. Today was Sunday, my day off. My old friend, the sun was high in the sky already. Its brilliant beams streamed in through the gaps in the window, illuminating and warming the space. The celestial fireball glares at me, but its glow is gentle and warm on my flesh. Today would have been a beautiful day, except for HERON. Lazily rubbing my eyes, I let out a groan. Yet, I cannot explain how I climaxed so many times in my sleep. What exactly brought that out of me? The surrealism of it was mind-blowing. If only I had a man like that in my life to love me. I sighed. The chipmunk returned and sat on my nightstand with a reddish-brown acorn in his hand, observing me. He's not chatty this morning. I disregarded his presence. I overslept. Pixie, my lazy wolf, remains in her sweet slumber. Sitting
*MIKAYLA’S POV* - Sage drove me to the pack house as ordered by Alpha Heron. Since today, they have been groveling at the ground that I walked on. When Forbes offered to be my escort, Heron’s crippling growl made him recant. Even though I could walk, as usual, Sage insisted on bringing me. He says that I should go easy on my feet and not overwork myself. Imagine that! The entire journey was distressful. Knowing that I was walking into a den of chastisement, my heart pounded irregularly, skipping beats and hammering into my chest. Nothing could consolidate me, especially when no one would have my back. The suspicion that Alpha Hudson was still upset over Heron choosing me instead of Varla also meant that Luna Phoebe would share the same sentiment. There were two things that I planned to do and that was, to object and tell the truth. “Good morning, Mikayla.” In the foyer, Matron Cecilia greeted me warmly and tucked a clipboard under her arm. “I was told to direct you to Alpha’s of
*MIKAYLA’S POV* Hell no! I yelled inside. “Did you know that he was going to imprint on you?” Luna Phoebe enunciated all the words. For the first time, her expression was austere with vertical wrinkles between her eyebrows, and her lips curled inwards to restrain the cursing that she wanted to lash at me. Vigorously, I shook my head. The air becomes denser, as if a huge foot were stomping on me. “It’s hard to believe you, Mikayla.” She snaps and I shrink into my chair. "You broke my trust when you told me several lies today." Without winking, my eyes burn as my spirit tries to escape through my apertures. Alpha Hudson scratched the side of his neck, twisting his mouth in anger. Their eyes went glossy as they interacted over the mind-link. Luna Phoebe tucks her drooping, blue-black hair behind her ears. A succinct sombre chuckle escapes her before she lowly orders, "Go back to the cottage." Relieved, I stood and bowed, then sped out of the office. Phew! I live to see another day.
*MIKAYLA’S POV* Last night I went to bed early and bolted my door. That was a message to Heron to stay out of my room. Though he could have broken it down, I'm sure that he would have gotten the hint that I was not in a good mood to deal with him. Tossing and turning in bed was a result of Varla's unreasonable demand. No one was aware of what we were talking about and Heron kept busy in his office. After a late breakfast, I vacuum the entire house nonstop to keep my mind off the dinner that I'm supposed to attend but cannot. Being Heron’s imprinted mate mandated the highest degree of respect, similar to an Alpha’s, thus the new title of Luna being used. Recently being addressed in such a manner was disconcerting. It yielded an eager desire to probe Heron further than a discreet surface scan without letting him into my psyche. His mood indicated that the mess he created was eating away at his brain. Dismissing it, I was not ready for him to go poking within my consciousness, neither

Four years later….. -HERON’S POV* "So listen up people," I will have no nonsense today and they better not argue over this. "Tonight is a special night for me and my woman." I was fucking serious about this. Mikayla and I have been so busy that we hardly spent enough time with each other. Tonight was arranged for us to have a romantic dinner at a resort. Mikayla promised me that we could have this night together. So I met with the people in our pack who have been closest to her and caused her the most trouble, to give them a piece of my mind. "Mikayla is lovable and we all adore her,” I get that she’s a blessing. After all, no one loved her more than I did. “BUT, tonight I need to have her for myself." I demanded, "I'm the Alpha and I'm laying down some ground rules for the both of you." I’m the luckiest man in the world to have her as my wife and these two have been trying to get in between what we have. The male scrunched his face and pouted his mouth, while the other smiled a
PART 2 - -PREYA’S POV* Zixuan took me to lunch. He’s not my mate. Without my wolf, I was uncertain if I'd sense or scent my mate. My birthday felt bummed and I didn’t want to celebrate. I entered the foyer of pack house. I sported my favorite color today, looking quite petite in my light blue wrap romper with short sleeves, surplice neckline, and skirt overlay. I came to hang out with Amber for a while when a loud screeching was heard from outside. Turning around in curiosity, I spotted Sage’s car with smoke at the tires. Overriding the sinking feeling in my stomach, I rolled my eyes at his dramatic entrance. Giving him little importance, I spun around and accidentally bumped into an Omega who dropped a tray of empty wine glasses that shattered to the floor. Damn! “I’m sorry,” I apologized. The Omega appeared like she was going to cry. Oh no! I spoiled her day. I bent to help her tidy up. “Please let me clean it up,” she offered. “It’s my fault. I’ll let Beta Dwayne tell the ma
PART 1 - Two weeks later..... -PREYA’S POV* Over in Primese Forest, I sat on the ground with my mated parents at 11:55 pm, five minutes away from my birthday. My back rested against a sandalwood tree feeling anxious and worried. My Dad, Senior Warrior Brian Delvaux, is a full-blooded werewolf and towers over me at 6’2'. He is chocolate colored with wavy black hair and gimlet blue eyes. He had a patrician nose and hirsute, bible-black eyebrows on an artist's face. Mom gave me a reassuring smile, “Honey, it will be alright.” They understood my glum mood and apprehension. “We’ll be here with you through the process,” Dad said sweetly, then glanced at the mired beauty of the moon. The silver deity of the submerged night embellished the still forest with its serene sweetness as we waited. “Thanks, Dad,” I replied, with a wildly beating heart. Because I have witch blood, I feared that I might not shift. This added to my further concerns about having a mate if I had no wolf. The mental
-MIKAYLA’S POV* Preya and Amoy did all our makeup. They are the beauty queens of the group and they spent twenty minutes painting my face with silver eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, and haute pink ultra-shine lip gloss. Luna Phoebe and Grandma Melody, the former Luna, joined us in Heron’s room at the pack house with my dress. “We hope you like it,” Grandma Melody chimed, optimistically. I donned the silver sweetheart neckline, full lace beach backless mermaid gown with a 3" 4” heel silver satin lace ribbon open-toe shoes. On my tight curls waterfall hairstyle, I wore a headwear diadem of white gold lined with 1, 222 diamonds, including the 102-carat pale blue brilliant diamond at the center which also includes pearls, and its design features roses, thistles, and orchids in honor of the fairy realm. Chippy brought it as a gift from Aunt Katinka. Preya squealed and clapped. “You look amazing!” When I stood in front of the mirror, I barely recognized myself. The girls gasped, “Wow.”
-HERON’S POV* An uproar of celebration came from the pack. The tidal surge of happiness and gaiety tsunamis through the state. Everyone now understands that Mikayla was framed and innocently sent to her death. Tapping into the pack’s connection, I felt each Elders' remorse. With a mild injection of sorrow, many wished that their true Luna did not die and was present at this crucial moment of truth. Sage, who I’m still pissed at, hands me some wipes to clean my bloody hand. I glared at him while pulling the sheets of wipes out and sanitizing my hand. “Alpha, I said that I was sorry.” He penitently bowed his head. Solemnly, I turned my head away from him, paying attention to my fingernails and getting the blood out. “Can you bake, Sage?” I scowled. The sizzling anger rebounds. “N-no,” he stuttered. As a result of being under the heat of his alpha, he tugs at the collar of his shirt, which seemingly tightened. Then he nervously suggested, “Maybe Forbes could bake them.” Growling, I
-HERON’S POV* Today, my countenance has a smiley face. The pineapple tarts were delicious. I left two in the refrigerator because I did not want to finish them all at once. This morning, Sage inadvertently ate one. I almost murdered him. Tyr shifted in the kitchen to rip his throat out and it took Axel and Forbes to pry me off my Beta. They were made with love and it was that love that flittered around my heart. Sage had no right to interfere with my treat. They were sentimental and specially made for me. My Beta better avoid the cottage for a while. Tyr was still fuming over it and not in a magnanimous mood. Charlotte didn’t leave the cottage until noon. Rosalie accepted my invitation to have breakfast with me. In one conversation, a lot can be summarized. To be honest, my decision was made. Naming her my Luna would get the elders to simmer down. There was no use prolonging this further. Then the rest should automatically go according to plan. Demi and I messaged each other a lot.
-HERON’S POV*Square one.I’m back at square one. It's amazing that, after Mikayla's death, I was expected to pick up the pace and choose another Luna. The whole scenario sired a headache. It was after Mikayla’s death that I realized that Mom truly liked her. Mom cried after the execution and even father had to console her. While Mom gives Charlotte things to do in the pack, acting like her executive assistant, she will never be my Mikayla. No one can.For now, Charlotte stands at my side. She stays at the pack house and is elated to be out of the cells. As expected, she goes around as though she runs the damn pack. Displaying qualities she deemed a born leader. I leave her be. Whilst, I cater to her essential needs. Pitifully, Charlotte kisses Mom’s ass and sucks up to Dad.I miss waking up to Mikayla's pale luminous skin in the weak morning light. My sugar fairy Luna. I shut myself in my room for the past three days and didn’t speak to anyone. I didn’t work. Didn’t return any calls
-MIKAYLA’S POV* Barefooted, I was clad in a long red gown that touched the ground. Red signified the shedding of blood and sinfulness. It's the day of my death for the crimes that I did not commit. I had to walk the crucifixion path from the cottage to Davidan Forest, which is south of the territory. With the soles of my feet grated against the dirt and pebbles, I came upon a clearing in the middle of the forest where the sun scorched the green pigmentation from the grass, turning it brown and crisp. The fierce sun's combative photons, which scorched my ivory skin, had no wind to temper them. Amidst the green field was the stake consisting of a tall pillar with a large pile of firewood and stones at the base for torching. All the Elders stood to the left, while the Alpha and Luna and warriors were on the right. Valen was at the stake, waiting for me. Because Heron had marked me, the majority of the pack was mournful. I felt their pain, while they felt mine. I gripped the sides of
