Swallowing down the saliva that suddenly spawned in my mouth, I cleared my throat before explaining myself, “I have been practicing how to put up a block for the past month, but the nightmares have been going on for the past year or so…”

“Ever since I left!” Jenn added as she moved to the sit next to me. Grabbing my hand, she squeezed it. I can see she wants to apologize, but it’s not her fault and plus I needed to learn how to deal with them. Mi sits back down but across from me and reaches across the table to add his hand to ours. His touch gives me strength so I can continue talking.

“Jenn, I don’t remember what it was like before you came into my life, but I don’t wake up in a fit or screaming or crying. I just slept through them and woke up the next day wondering about them. I know they aren’t all the same, but they really don’t scare me. It’s like they are a film I am remembering but not completely getting.” I said as I squeezed her hand back

I was crying. Reaching up or trying to I tried to touch my face, but it was hard. In fact, everything hurt. Plus, something was holding me in place.“Gab! Gab please say something!” turning my head I see a guy leaning over the top of my head as he spoke to someone. Looking up as much as I could I see a beautiful woman, well her face. Or some of it as the guy was holding her face in his hands as he cried in her red hair. Then looking around I see that she is holding me on her side and on her other side was a boy. Looking to him, I felt sorrow, a deep gut-wrenching sorrow. His eyes were open and staring at me. His gray eyes that I knew had a ring of green, they reminded me of mom’s eyes. At that thought I looked up and remembered that the beautiful woman was mom. Moving as best as I could, I reached up to touch my mom.My movement startled the guy and that’s when he looked down at me. We just stared at each other, his light gray eyes spoke of his sadness and misery as well as his shock.

Yes, never ever think a day can get better when it starts with one nightmare and then gives another in the middle only to end with Natasha as your lab partner in science. This day just could not stop throwing shit at me. After study hall, which was nice but boring given, I spent it writing notes from the pages Mr. Rouser assigned. And I was right Miguel had the same assignment and had already finished reading the pages. So, he helped or should I say corrected my notes. Which just annoyed me, but I also appreciated it for I really wasn’t grasping the information, not that it was complicated, I just felt like it was wrong. Another thing Miguel agreed with but how do you explain to your teacher that the book is wrong without sounding completely nutz. So, I got through that and at the bell we headed to our table outside the cafeteria where I found Lucy. My other best friend and the loudest friend that I have. Well, I was heading to the table while Miguel went to get our food. We both

After lunch Cathy and Miguel walked with me to the science hall, even though Miguel was in Intro to Physics and chemistry science, a high school class but it was offered, and he got in. It was in one of the newly refurbished classrooms, but it was still in the science hall but closer to the math hall which was not that far away. I knew Cathy was only with us because of Miguel but it helped to take my mind off the day I was experiencing until I walked into my classroom, sadly not one of the newly refurbished huge classrooms. Yep, she was in my class. Though the worst part was my regular lab partner was out sick, so she was put at my table and made my lab partner for today. I tried to ask the teacher to let me just do it myself and put her at another table, but no the teacher wanted us to ‘play nice’ and do the work. “You know you’re doing all the work, right!” Natasha stated as she pushed the paperwork and materials to my side of the table. “And don’t forget to put my name on it.” I

I didn’t get in trouble given none of the items were mine and that was easy to prove. The only lucky thing this entire day was that Mi had a locker in this hall, which is where my book-bag was. I had, smartly as I always tried to do, put my book-bag and stuff in his locker and only took my science book, notebook, and a pencil into class. Something Lucy, Mi and I did when one of our lockers happened to be nearby. It really helped with keeping down what we had to keep up with in class and carrying around. Plus, it kept people from messing with my stuff, something Natasha and Lousie loved to do. I also got good marks on my assignment given other teachers were asked to look it over. The principal was still dealing with a frantic Mrs. Blanchard and the mess that was our classroom. The janitorial staff were not too happy given what they had to clean up, but I could see them smirking as they heard what happened. “Ms. Cogswell is this your book and notebook?” Mr. Smith, the head janitor ask

“So, my house today!” Lucy simply announced after hearing everything that happened in my class. “Ok who is all coming?” “Coming!” Chad and Steve scream at the same time, which started another round of roughhousing from them. They are always horsing around or jumping at each other when they see each other, yet they do everything together. I just giggled at their silliness and wondered how I have such great friends. “Peter has practice, so he’ll probably not be coming today.” Miguel says as he looks in his planner. “I have a couple hours before I must be home. So yeah, I'll come.” “Is it ok if I come?” Cathy asks. “Yeah, no problem, Cathy. Come over as well.” Larry answered before Lucy could say anything. Larry is Lucy’s twin brother and so laid back that sometimes you forget he’s there. “Come here Mery let’s get going.” He says while reaching for my hand. I just shrugged as I took his hand and followed him down the street leading from the school. “Hey, wait up you two!” Terry yell

--- Miguel’s POV ---“Is she ok?” I asked as soon I was close; I almost fell onto Ericson as I fell to my knees next to him. It really irked me that he was still holding her. Yeah, I know he got to her first and was with her as she passed out, but doesn’t he know you shouldn’t move a person. Especially with how high she fell from though I knew she didn’t hit her head but for everyone else it might have looked like she had.“She’s ok for the moment but we need to get her to hospital to be sure.” Ericson tells me while still looking her over without moving her or upsetting Crispin. Like his feelings better. I mean yes, he was the first in the whole schemes of things, but he wasn’t the most important person in her life.“Miguel is she ok?” Miguel?” Looking up I see Lucy fighting against both Adam and Larry, who are trying to keep her back.“For the moment she is but she needs a hospital. Lucy, go get your mom. We need a ride to the hospital.” I scream at her. She just nods her head befor

--- Miguel’s POV ---I seriously needed to thank the girl. Due to her interference with the officers, we were able to follow the ambulance all the way to the First Dynasty Hospital. Though because it was heading to the ambulance bay, Lucy’s mom, whom we call Mama Ang, headed to the parking lot. Lucy and I didn’t even hesitate to jump out as she slowed down for another car that was pulling out of a spot.“Wo, you two wait!” Mama Ang yelled at us, but we didn’t slow down or look back. Yes, we would pay for the disrespect, though I was hoping for some understanding since it was an emergency.Just as we got to the door, it was opened by none other than that girl. Lucy shoved past her, while apologizing but not stopping to thank her and even ask why she was here.At first, I was wondering why she was here till she looked to me. That’s when I see the similarities to Crispin, except for her hair. Her blonde streak ran from her left ear to the middle of her head and her hair was long, lower b

--- Ericson’s POV ---I just followed behind everyone as I tried to think about all of this. Today was supposed to be the day we finally got reunited with her. I mean we did get to see her but passed out and banged up. That is not how I wanted to see her again.I wanted to see her beautifully smile and hear her voice. Then talk about what kind of life she has had so far and if she was willing to go with us to meet someone. A person of great value and importance in her soul. Someone that can fill the void in her and give her answers to everything that was happening. Will not this. This car accident was not a part of the plan. Why did it have to happen today of all days? ---Merida’s POV--- Sitting there I just watched as Mi bounced his head on the table, I just worked on Jenn’s words. It was more than I thought. I had learned that shifters tend to run in packs as a way to strengthen themselves and protect their loved ones. Though if a trouble shifter causes issues in the pack, then they are kicked out and left to wander alone. Thus, making them rogues and any person that follows them. So, a promise of a new pack, where they are forgiven is too much to turn down, even a condition like causing panic in another. But then again would they go so far as to kill shifters just to join a new pack that hasn’t been established. *Wait has the pack even been formed?* “Jenn where is this pack set to be established?” I asked, causing everyone to halt in their movement and stare at me. “I’m sorry but no new pack has been recognized in this area and with my dad here. Won’t the leader or alpha have to approach my dad to b

---Miguel’s POV--- I would say life has calmed down these past two days, but I would need a base line to compare to our everyday life. I can’t explain but Meri does understand everything she learns but she still questions as if the knowledge she has is different than what she learned. Not that she remembers what she knows. But I am happy that I can openly help Meri now and not sneak behind everyone’s back. As Mr. Bell didn’t want to overwhelm her and thought one on one would be good for her. As well as judge what abilities she had and see about getting them under control. I wasn’t sure if any had surfaced but then again Nadia was present in her head. And we didn’t want her to get control or act out any more than she

~(;P)~ Nixie’s memories ~(d:)~ “… are you ok?” came his soothing voice which had me swooning in awe. How could someone be exactly my dream angel. Helping me to a sitting position, my sister falls into my lap as she cries onto my shoulder. Oh, shit she saw uncle hitting me, I have been hiding that for years. I don’t want her to lose all connections to our parents like I have. “Anneliesa I’m ok! Remember your sister is strong.” I smiled at her as she looked to me. “Now dry those tears and say hello to our guest.” I say as I waved at my dream angel and introduced myself. “I’m Nixie Klein and this is Anneliesa Klein. Sorry about all this but welcome to our adobe.” I said, getting to my feet and looking around. Stepping back as I took in the disarray, I was astonished to see the magistrate, my uncle as well as Mr. Boem and his son being restrained. I don’t recognize the soldiers or even remember them from before I arrived. *Where did all thes

Plus, I have many questions about the Armed Guard as well.” “Well technically yes you are neither but don’t forget that Armed Ladies can be appointed if a lady has proven to be exceptional. Then again given your inexperience in our world and that it has yet to be proven your standing, it is not unheard for Armed Ladies to be appointed to you. Though they are Armed Ladies of established Ladies, not first timers.” Jen answers as she perches on the last sofa. “And I would love to be appointed but we need a Council Elder to sign off and not just the Kings.” “If I can become an Armed Lady and I can stay

He told me how bored he was just walking the perimeter and that his partner Greg was too strict. “Sorry dad but Leo looked so fluffy and cute. Please he was pleading for a belly rub!” I said as I looked at my dad. He just smiled at me and patted my back. “OK sweetie I understand but let’s not pet Leo while he is working. I can ask Greg to stop by after his shift and give you time with Leo away from the others. But please don’t do that or show that you understand our War cats or others might see it as a weakness.” my dad says as he pulls me in for a hug. “Can you explain what a War cat is? ---Sarah’s POV--- It’s been a month since Crispin acted like a fool and tried to attack Meri with kisses or something. For it took the entire day to break whatever trance or hold Meri put him in or whatever it was. Though once he was free, he asked about Meri then clammed up and refused to talk. Though from what Meri had explained before lunch and how the king responded to my intel told me that it was Meri’s doing or power. I tried to talk with Meri over the next few weeks but once her teacher caught wind of it, he shut it down. I had no problem with it, but I did wish Mr. Bell would look in to it. Though I think the king was the one to shut it down. As I thought of the talk we had weeks back. ~ (^_^) ~ Two weeks ago ~ (^_^) ~ “Sarah, can we talk?” Mr. Bell asked me after his session with Meri. She was focused on the book he gave her to read. Nodding yes, we walked out of the study and down the hall a ways. “Sarah, I know you

---Zander’s POV--- The last of our lunch rush had left and I had just finished cleaning up and putting away the ingredients. Sighing, I grabbed the empty dish pan to collect the other dishes as I stepped out and looked for Ma. “So, about my earlier suggestion…” I started only to get hit with a rag in the chest, which luckily landed in the dish pan. Putting it on the counter, I grabbed the rag and started wiping down the counter. Looking up I came face to face with an angry Ma. “Zan, you have proven a capable worker and a good cook, but how can you ask this?” she demands as she settles in the closet booth. “I agreed to last night but now this! Zan how can you trust them, after what they did?” she asks me. “Because in truth they really didn’t do anything.” Rasing my hand as she goes to once again remind me of the guns, which were securely locked in the safe in the office right at this moment. “Yes, they pointed guns at us and d
