---Merida’s POV---

So, getting hurt was kind of a blessing as I no longer had to assist Lucinda, but I did miss our talks, or really her stories. But now I get to hang out with Jenn and Sarah and watch them in their training classes. Though it is boring at times, Nadia helps get me on track by telling me how I can do those moves.

In fact, I’m really surprised how much nicer Nadia has been lately. Even her voice is more soothing and comforting to me. I really am enjoying it, but I also miss her harsh words and shrill tone. Even her loudness is absent and that troubles me. It’s like she sees me as glass or better yet that she’s hiding something from me.

But for the life of me I can’t think of what she is hiding.

“Meri, are you listening?” Sarah asks me as she drops on the bench next to me. Jenn is across the room putting the stuff away.

So training is over, but I was zoning out, so I didn’t notice anything. Another

I knew I didn’t have long before that mad woman, Cecilia, came for me. She just didn’t let up, didn’t even matter that I was still recovering from my injuries or that I was a novice. She came at me hard and demanded that I didn’t quit, or she will strike Maniac. Which she has a few times when I really did try to call it quits. Maniac didn’t really like that and reacted horribly. He almost tore her arm off when he locked on her lower arm. She didn’t flinch or yell, just looked at me and waited for my response. I told Maniac to stand down and not to react to her. So, I really can’t stop, as if I don’t move, she’s going to attack Maniac and given he is actually listening to me, he could get hurt as he won’t block or move. Groaning once more, I sat up and looked right at her. She’s just s

I was crying. Reaching up or trying to I tried to touch my face, but it was hard. In fact, everything hurt. Plus, something was holding me in place.“Gab! Gab please say something!” turning my head I see a guy leaning over the top of my head as he spoke to someone. Looking up as much as I could I see a beautiful woman, well her face. Or some of it as the guy was holding her face in his hands as he cried in her red hair. Then looking around I see that she is holding me on her side and on her other side was a boy. Looking to him, I felt sorrow, a deep gut-wrenching sorrow. His eyes were open and staring at me. His gray eyes that I knew had a ring of green, they reminded me of mom’s eyes. At that thought I looked up and remembered that the beautiful woman was mom. Moving as best as I could, I reached up to touch my mom.My movement startled the guy and that’s when he looked down at me. We just stared at each other, his light gray eyes spoke of his sadness and misery as well as his shock.

Yes, never ever think a day can get better when it starts with one nightmare and then gives another in the middle only to end with Natasha as your lab partner in science. This day just could not stop throwing shit at me. After study hall, which was nice but boring given, I spent it writing notes from the pages Mr. Rouser assigned. And I was right Miguel had the same assignment and had already finished reading the pages. So, he helped or should I say corrected my notes. Which just annoyed me, but I also appreciated it for I really wasn’t grasping the information, not that it was complicated, I just felt like it was wrong. Another thing Miguel agreed with but how do you explain to your teacher that the book is wrong without sounding completely nutz. So, I got through that and at the bell we headed to our table outside the cafeteria where I found Lucy. My other best friend and the loudest friend that I have. Well, I was heading to the table while Miguel went to get our food. We both

After lunch Cathy and Miguel walked with me to the science hall, even though Miguel was in Intro to Physics and chemistry science, a high school class but it was offered, and he got in. It was in one of the newly refurbished classrooms, but it was still in the science hall but closer to the math hall which was not that far away. I knew Cathy was only with us because of Miguel but it helped to take my mind off the day I was experiencing until I walked into my classroom, sadly not one of the newly refurbished huge classrooms. Yep, she was in my class. Though the worst part was my regular lab partner was out sick, so she was put at my table and made my lab partner for today. I tried to ask the teacher to let me just do it myself and put her at another table, but no the teacher wanted us to ‘play nice’ and do the work. “You know you’re doing all the work, right!” Natasha stated as she pushed the paperwork and materials to my side of the table. “And don’t forget to put my name on it.” I

I didn’t get in trouble given none of the items were mine and that was easy to prove. The only lucky thing this entire day was that Mi had a locker in this hall, which is where my book-bag was. I had, smartly as I always tried to do, put my book-bag and stuff in his locker and only took my science book, notebook, and a pencil into class. Something Lucy, Mi and I did when one of our lockers happened to be nearby. It really helped with keeping down what we had to keep up with in class and carrying around. Plus, it kept people from messing with my stuff, something Natasha and Lousie loved to do. I also got good marks on my assignment given other teachers were asked to look it over. The principal was still dealing with a frantic Mrs. Blanchard and the mess that was our classroom. The janitorial staff were not too happy given what they had to clean up, but I could see them smirking as they heard what happened. “Ms. Cogswell is this your book and notebook?” Mr. Smith, the head janitor ask

“So, my house today!” Lucy simply announced after hearing everything that happened in my class. “Ok who is all coming?” “Coming!” Chad and Steve scream at the same time, which started another round of roughhousing from them. They are always horsing around or jumping at each other when they see each other, yet they do everything together. I just giggled at their silliness and wondered how I have such great friends. “Peter has practice, so he’ll probably not be coming today.” Miguel says as he looks in his planner. “I have a couple hours before I must be home. So yeah, I'll come.” “Is it ok if I come?” Cathy asks. “Yeah, no problem, Cathy. Come over as well.” Larry answered before Lucy could say anything. Larry is Lucy’s twin brother and so laid back that sometimes you forget he’s there. “Come here Mery let’s get going.” He says while reaching for my hand. I just shrugged as I took his hand and followed him down the street leading from the school. “Hey, wait up you two!” Terry yell

Yeah, I know he got to her first and was with her as she passed out, but doesn’t he know you shouldn’t move a person. Especially with how high she fell from though I knew she didn’t hit her head but for everyone else it might have looked like she had.“She’s ok for the moment but we need to get her to hospital to be sure.” Ericson tells me while still looking her over without moving her or upsetting Crispin. Like his feelings better. I mean yes, he was the first in the whole schemes of things, but he wasn’t the most important person in her life.“Miguel is she ok?” Miguel?” Looking up I see Lucy fighting against both Adam and Larry, who are trying to keep her back.“For the moment she is but she needs a hospital. Lucy, go get your mom. We need a ride to the hospital.” I scream at her. She just nods her head befor

---Unknown POV--- It’s been months and I finally learned where they hid her. She was tucked away at the castle. I was pissed for that meant I couldn’t see her or get close but I had a friend in the castle and they could check on her for me. “Hello Des, what’s up?” came Melody Riera’s voice. She wasn’t high on the rooster as a laundry maid, but she knew everything that was happening in the castle. Being in the laundry room, she could hear all types of gossip and ask about personal items given she needed to be aware of who owned what and where to send it or how to treat it. “Melody, I need you to look into a young lady that just arrived in the castle.” I say, I pause to think how to describe her without telling Riera who she is. I figured they are keeping quiet for the moment as she is still young and unaware of our world. “She’s a young girl with light brown or dark blonde hair. She’s quiet.” “Are you talking about that girl t

---Ericson’s POV--- To think my little apple could be so stubborn, especially when she’s hurt. Only it was the fact that she was determined to see to Maniac that I relented and assisted her. And when I say assisted, I mean I picked her up and carried her to the other side of the room and held her as she fussed over the flea-bitten annoyance. Though it was his response to her that really shocked me. That overgrown menace just rolled his eyes at her as he let her touch him and kiss him. Sharing a look with my king, who patiently watched, we waited till the vet said that’s all he could do. Not that he could do anything, as Maniac refused his touch or treatment. “Tell me what to do and I’ll do it.” Meri suddenly said. The vet, seeing no harm in it started to instruct her, while we assisted as she was still not allowed to move her left arm. Before long Maniac was patched up and licking her as she spoke to him, “Ok, ok! Now you rest as Steven

---Sarah’s POV--- I was seething as I watched the vampire council argue about Meri’s intentions. How I know they will choke when they learn the truth! As any relationship or good graces, they were hoping to build with the Princess when she is found, just got destroyed. Though I really don’t see that Barbas ever being friendly, he’s always causing issues. He doesn’t like anyone who he sees as below him. Yet he doesn’t understand that he has no power, him being Councilor Sylvia’s beloved is all show. She is the one infatuated with him and made him her beloved when her true beloved was killed in the last war. That vampire was strong and respected, he died protecting a town full of people and he didn’t expose his nature or the mission that was happening nearby. In fact, Steven says his sacrifice and courage that day ensured the mission and that we won that war. Though the thing that gets me is that Councilor Sylvia got her seat in honor of him.

I know he couldn’t be a council member as they were in a meeting right now but maybe one of the assistants. *There was no way I could fight him off or get him to wait until someone arrived. That’s why he was made a War Cat of the castle, as he was very good at recognizing who was welcomed and who needed to be watched. That’s how Lucinda explained him to me before telling me his name. And what a name it is. He is called Maniac as you never know what he is thinking or will do. Only he hasn’t hurt any staff of the castle and just scares people if they act up. And I even got a puppy, a pug to be more precise. I named her Ladybug and am being taught how to care for her and train her. Lady Rowana says it will help me in building my confidence and showing her how will I lead. Will that was Na’s interpretation of it, as Lady Rowana just told me I had a month to show my skills. Not that I understand a thing of what she was asking of me. But Na told me to agree, and Sarah was nodding her head to agree, so I agreed. Though what floored me was I was to help the Head Maid with her chores for the next 2 weeks as everyone else went to training to learn how to fight. Yeah, that sucked to be once again separated from everyone else. Though I was ok that Mr. Bell wasn’t here, as he had to stay behind and help with th
