Putting down her coffee, Maria Fernanda smiled at the entrance of the cafeteria as soon as her eyes spotted Antonio. He also smiled when he saw Maria Fernanda after all that time.

“Maria Fernanda, you’re here,” he greeted her.

“Please, take a seat. Sorry, I had to order my coffee before your arrival.”

“Oh, no! Don’t worry, Maria Fernanda. I understand how you can be.”

They laughed.

“Anyways, why did you ask me to come? I mean, it’s not like it bothers me, but…”

She giggled at seeing how uncomfortable he was. It had always been the problem of Antonio. Despite being a lawyer, there were moments when he didn’t make any effort to not mess up with his words and just said things like he was thinking them.

“I understand, Antonio. You don’t need to explain yourself. I know you’re surprised to see me here after… after all…”

“Shh! It’s okay, Maria Fernanda. You don’t need to pronounce it. To tell the truth, I was aiming for this moment even though I didn’t know how to call you after all

Coming into the enormous kitchen that was also in the first story of the company, Maria Fernanda didn’t allow herself to feel nervous despite the looks she was gaining by walking in front of the people who had already started working. It seemed like she’d have to introduce herself to the chefs there, who were looking at her like the one who was about to steal their positions. No one dared to smile at her. No one dared to make her feel welcomed. She was just a stranger to them. Someone who didn’t deserve to receive their welcome when they had the highest positions there. They were like the right hand of that company and they knew it. “Good day, everyone, I hope you’re all doing okay this day,” Maria Fernanda started. All of them just blinked. No one replied. Maria Fernanda cleared her throat. The vibes that the people there were giving off were heavier than she ever thought they’d be. “Well, it’s good to know you’re all fine,” she replied to herself. “I’m not going to take so much

Even if she felt like a helpless worm in front of Elijah, Maria Fernanda knew how to still stand up. No one had the right to make her feel less. It was enough with all she had gone through. It seemed like people didn’t like it when it comes to being a genuine soul. They were always there to remind us we’re nothing in this world with a transparent soul. They were always there to destroy that beautiful soul and make us as false as them. And then, they’re asking why we're so false. This wasn’t the kinda world where everyone could be happy without being judged. This was the world of falseness. “I don’t know who told you that. I don’t know what you’re doing here, but let me tell that if Mr. de la Fuente sent you here to try what he couldn’t because I asked him to go, let me tell that-“ “No one sent me here, Maria Fernanda!” Elijah raised his voice. “Oh! Really? And are you expecting me to believe that?” “Seems like this is where we start opening up, right?”“Just tell the man I don’t

Unbuckling the seat belt when Stefan told her they were already there, Maria Fernanda couldn’t help but look at the little salon he had taken her to start working on what he had said. It was late, but at the end it was never late to start getting revenge on those who never listened to her. She was innocent and no one cared about it. Why would she care about the time to get her revenge? “Okay, please make yourself home,” Stefan said, turning on the lights of the salon. At that moment Maria Fernanda was able to see it wasn’t just a salon. It was more than that. “Wuooo, a kitchen?” She asked. “Yep, my first kitchen.” “I thought you were just the kind of man who enjoyed ordering others but never dared to move a single finger.”Stefan laughed. “Oh! Kinda funny, eh? To have inherited all you see now I had to learn so much, I had to feel passion towards the amazing world of cooking. My grandfather might’ve been strict but I really appreciate it. I wouldn’t have become the person I am now

Enjoying the meals they had prepared for the last four almost five hours, Stefan and Maria Fernanda found themselves smiling at each other and giving thumbs up. The meals all together were really wonderful. There wasn't anything that could interfere in the success of the new restaurants that Stefan was going to open up.“Seems like I’ve found my perfect chef.” The man said, undoing the knot of his apron. Maria Fernanda nodded. “Seems like I’ll ask for a raise.” “Of course, let me know how much you want and I’ll give you as much as you need.” Stefan laughed. “Don’t show off your last name.”“Oh! Right! You don’t like rich men to brag about their fortune but are friends with Elijah. Anyways, let’s fix the new salary for one of my favorite chefs. What else do you want?” Continued asking the man while ordering the kitchen. Maria Fernanda looked at him without Stefan noticing it. ‘I just want my five years back. I just want that part of my life you took away from me. Can you do that f

With pickles and cream on the face, Adamaris enjoyed her time listening to her favorite music. She smiled thinking about the new life that was waiting for her as soon as her friend decided to move in with her grandfather because if something was obvious it was the fact that she was indeed going with her. They had shared hell in jail. Why wouldn’t they share heaven now? All of a sudden, the music Adamaris was listening to paused by the coming call. She took off one of the pickles she had on her eyes and saw the ID of the person calling. It was an unknown number. “Hello? It’s Adamaris. How can I help you?” She answered anyway. The person on the other line cleared his throat. “Adamaris?” It was a man. Adamaris couldn’t help but feel excited. Many faces came to her mind. “Yes, how can I help you?” She changed the tone of her voice. “I’m Elijah. I-I… You.. Do you remember me?” Adamaris smiled and crossed her legs. “Of course, handsome. How can I forget a face as beautiful as yours?”

With their luggage being carried by the people who worked for Mr. de la Fuente, Maria Fernanda and her friend arrived at the palace of the de la Fuente family. Elijah was already waiting for them in the living room. “Seems like the heir has come.” Elijah greeted Maria Fernanda. “Seems like the handsome man will have to swallow his words, right?” Adamaris attacked. Elijah smiled. That made Adamaris hallucinated. He was such a perfect man. “Please, Miss. Adamaris, you can choose a room on the third floor. I need to talk to Maria Fernanda.” “Sorry, I’m not going anywhere without my friend. We need to choose the room together, right, Fernanda?” Maria Fernanda just smiled. “Go. Choose another one for me. I don’t care.” “Okay, your room has to be next to mine.” And then, Adamaris turned around to continue her way. Maria Fernanda and Elijah smiled at each other. “Your friend is really… something, right?” “She has been the only one this time. Without her I would have gone crazy.

Being the good listener he always was to his friend, this time didn’t let him fall despite all the things Stefan had done. No matter how many times they disagreed, they were still friends, and Stefan had to understand Ricardo just wanted the best for his friend. “I don’t know what’s wrong with me, Ricardo. I don’t know.” Stefan accepted after having told him the last events between Maria Fernanda and him. With his legs crossed, Ricardo smiled. In a way, it made him happy to see his friend so desperate to know what was going on in his heart. “Why do you keep smiling? This is not funny!” Stefan claimed. Ricardo raised his hands as he was free of guilt. “No, of course it’s not funny for the person who’s going through it, but it is indeed for the ones who are out, seeing the truth you don’t want to see.” “I don’t know what you’re talking about, Ricardo!”“Maria Fernanda, that stubborn woman, the one you said you wanted to sign the contract to make out of her life a vivid hell, she is

“You’re not in love with him, right?” Adamaris insisted. What Maria Fernanda had explained to her for the last two hours sitting at the garden, hadn’t been enough for her to understand how all of that happened. Her sister had said she had kissed twice the man who was supposed to make pay for what he did to her. And all of a sudden, they kissed?! “Don’t be a stupid! I can’t be in love with the man who tore my life apart. I can’t forgive the man who destroyed my life.” “To be honest I haven’t seen you make any move against Stefan de la Barrera.” Maria Fernanda just looked at her. Adamaris shrugged. “I’m just saying. Don’t look at me like that.” “In moments like this I think Antonio was always right.” “Oh! Shit, what are you saying now?”“Antonio once said revenges will always take both into the grave. A revenge cannot be completed just by one suffering. It’d be karma, and to allow karma to make its work… the victims have to forgive. I can’t forgive him. I really can’t.” “Maybe…”
