Chapter Twenty Four

Getting to work daily was a whole lot of work, starting from waking up on time, flagging a cab down and getting to work to be faced by the terror himself. Each day, she would mark her calender to be up to date on how long was left for her to complete her contract and disappear entirely from that company and never return again.

Dragging her feet, she sauntered into the elevator, just as it was about to close. She greeted some of the persons she met in there and waited.

She got carried away that she didn't know when the elevator door opened for her. Someone tapped her gently from behind. She turned around to stare at the person, he face was quite familiar but, she couldn't place it.

"How may I help you? Is there a problem? She asked, holding her phone up on her right hand and her bag on the left.

Steve nodded gently and pointed at the door. "I think, the door is opened for you. It's just two of us left here, I was assuming it's your turn." He said calmly.
