Chapter Fifteen

It was another casual day at the Kiosk. Mrs. Kute had returned from the big market and was arranging the new wares she had gotten from the marketplace.

She hummed her favourite song as she continued to keep the items properly on their various places.

Some of her clients trooped in, so she had to pause for a while to attend to them before she could continue. She heard a very familiar voice from afar which she could recognise even in her sleep.

"Isn't that Maxwell? She asked no one in particular.

One of her clients who still was purchasing some items thought she referred to him. "You mean me ma'am? He asked.

"Oh no no no. I thought I heard my son's voice. Wasn't referring to you please." She answered, giving off a cheerful smile.

Just then, Maxwell walked in, clutching his school bag firmly on his back. "Hello momma, I'm back from school." He greeted, then walked up to her and kisses her on her forehead.
